Arianna's POV

I quickly wrapped her in my arms, grabbing her shivering body tightly.

Celine has always been faced with the trauma of a dream she has refused to tell us anything about.

Over time, I learnt to respect her privacy and her reason not to tell anyone about the trauma she's been passing through for years.

“Don't you feel it's about time you told me about this dream?” I urged, rubbing her back gently as she slowly grew calm.

“We have a long day tomorrow. Go to sleep,” she quickly dismissed, backing me as she lay on her side.

Unfortunately, there was no way to get her to speak to me. I just had to sleep and prepare for the journey ahead of us.

As the sun rose upon our faces, we both packed up and prepared to head out for the continuation of the journey we began.

“Arianna, you've been trying to practice shifting into your wolf form. How's that coming on?” Celine asked curiously.

“Actually, I haven't tried for a while now. I was lost in my love journey with Damien,” I replied.

“Too bad. Maybe you would have been good at it by now,” she teased.

“ I haven't even connected with my wolf. It's totally impossible for me to master it for now,” I replied.

“But that was the reason you came out here, isn't it? To get stronger, huh?” She gave me a soft nudge against my shoulder with a contagious smile on her face.

I smiled, reflecting on what she had just said. Maybe teaching myself how to shift wouldn't be so bad.

Suddenly, my intimate glared as I felt an airy feeling around me.

I could feel goosebumps around my skin, causing me to freeze on the spot immediately as my eyes slowly darted around, scanning the terrain.

“What's the problem, Arianna?” Celine asked, her eyes fixated upon me while her instincts were also shot up.

“We're being followed,” I said, relying on my instincts.

My senses weren't so sharp, so it was hard to tell where the threat was coming from.

After waiting for so long, we didn't get attacked, and I resolved that it must have been a mistake from me.

“You need to work on your instincts. You scared me…”

Suddenly, a werewolf, fully transformed into his wolf form, emerged from the woods, snarling hungrily.

“I told you I was right,” I whispered nervously, slowly drawing closer to Celine as we locked hands.

His eyes immediately locked onto the bag carrying our food supply, and he kept drooling hungrily.

“Oh no, you don't,” we yelled as we took to our heels, attempting to outrun him through the woods.

But we didn't stand a chance. His limbs were stronger than ours, and there was no way we could possibly outrun him.

“Transforming to your wolf form could come in handy at this time,” Celine yelled as we both kept running away from the threat.

“I'm trying!!” I yelled, trying to get her off my neck.

“I don't think you are,” she teased.

I shook my head in disappointment. “This isn't the time for this. Our life is on the line.”

Eventually, our legs failed, and the rogue wolf successfully took our food supply.

Luckily, he wasn't in the mood to hurt us in any way.

But that food was our only lifeline out here, and I didn't know how we were going to survive without it.

“What are we going to do now?” Celine grumbled, breaking heavily as we both laid on the grass bedding, trying to catch our breath after that adrenaline pumped run.

I raised an eyebrow as I turned towards her in shock. “I have no idea, Celine.”

“You can't say that. I can't survive another without food,” she replied.

“Then we need to get to the gate as fast as we can. Maybe there's a better life out the wall,” I said, dragging my limp body off the floor.

“This journey was a mistake,” she teased.

“You're always joking about everything,” I chuckled.

The scorching heat of the sun kept striking our head, eating deep into our scalp as our stomachs grumbled, hunger gripping us with every step we took.

It was beginning to look like we weren't going to make it, and even our water supply was completely exhausted.

But just as we were about to give up hope, I caught a glimpse of the enormous gate, heavily guarded.

“There! There it is!!” I yelled, running towards it immediately.

“What? You've got to be kidding me. Wait up! I don't have enough in my tank to run as fast as you,” Celine yelled, dragging her feet behind as she tried her best to keep up with me.

“What are you two ladies doing out in this part of the city?” one of the guards asked firmly, glaring straight at our eyes with a stoic expression on his face.

“We want to leave Mystic Falls. We're on a journey,” I revealed.

“Do you even know where you're going?” He scoffed.

“I don't know. But I guess I'll find out in the course of my journey,” I replied.

“Are you going to let us through or not?” Celine snapped.

“I'm sorry. You can go ahead. Be safe out there,” he waved as he pulled the gates open, allowing us to walk through, setting our back towards Mystic Falls.

I slowly turned towards the gate, reminiscing on the life I lived behind the walls.

“We could still go back. It's not too late to give up,” Celine said.

“There's no giving up. I got Grandma's blessings. I don't want to make all this go to waste,” I replied.

“It's going to be a long journey from home,” Celine reminded.

I softly nodded. “Sure it is. I guess my journey just began,” I smiled softly.

“Yup. Let's get going anyway,” Celine urged.

But my eyes were still fixed on the wall. A soft smile slowly went over my lips.

Maybe I'll miss her mor

e than I thought I would.

“Goodbye, grandma. I'll find out if this rejection was the will of the moon goddess.”

  • The Alpha's Last Chance    CHAPTER 10 : Destinies Foretold

Arianna's POVMy eyes slowly fluttered open, waking up to the consciousness of the pain around my body. I slowly attempted to sit upright, but I hissed in pain, lying back on my bed as the pain was too much to endure. “Relax, relax. I just nursed the wound. You just need some rest to get better,” the nurse said, slowly adjusting the pillow behind my head. “I can't thank you enough…” “Catherine.” she introduced herself “Catherine. I can't thank you enough, Catherine,” I appreciated. “I'm Arianna, by the way,” I added, forcing a smile on my face through the burning pain. She smiled, touching my forehead softly. “Don't be so hard on yourself.” A knock came on the door, and Catherine responded, permitting the person to come in. The door was pushed open, and a man walked in, keeping a stoic expression on his face. His scent was quite familiar, but he wasn't a werewolf. I could tell from his scent that he was a normal human, which is rare to see around here. “Arianna, this is Ral

  • The Alpha's Last Chance    CHAPTER 9: A GIFT AND BURDEN FROM MY PAST

Arianna's POV“What do you mean I'm pregnant?” I snapped, forcing myself to my feet immediately as I moved away from her a bit. She took a deep breath as the smile that once covered her face disappeared immediately. “I'm so sorry. I never knew it would come as bad news,” she said, slowly dropping the bowl of water she had in her hand. “I don't understand,” my eyebrows furrowed deeply. That was when it suddenly dawned on me that I was about 1 week late. I wasn't observant about this due to the events happening in my life lately. “You're pregnant, ma'am. I have to come clean,” she replied firmly. “How did I get here in the first place?” The thought struck me suddenly. “Oh! About that. A stranger mentioned that he found you lying unconscious on the road, so he brought you here,” she replied. “A stranger?” My tights swerved deeper, trying to wrap my head around everything. “He also said that this is the bag the thieves you were after stole from you,” she gestured towards the bag

  • The Alpha's Last Chance    CHAPTER 8: Lonely Dirt Road

Arianna's POVMy eyes darted around, searching from corner to corner as I hoped to find Celine. “Celine!!” I yelled through the thick bushes. But all I got were just echoes of my own voice. The morning slowly turned into noon, and yet there wasn't a sign of her. I was worried, deeply pained that I made her walk into her own room, and she was probably kidnapped or taken away by some rogue wolf. But as I lifted my bag to resume my journey, I saw a note right under my bag. “I know you must be feeling bad after I have left. But you don't need to be afraid. I felt walking the same path with you was part of my destiny, but I guess I have my own path to walk,” the letter read. Tears streamed down my eyes as I held the letter close to my heart, feeling the emptiness left by her absence. Soon, I cleaned up my tears and braced myself to continue on with my journey. I was well aware that I started this journey all alone, and I was never forced into continuing my journey. Just as the ful

  • The Alpha's Last Chance    CHAPTER 7 : Consequences of my stupidity

Damien's POV It was too hard for me to move past this new development. A life without Arianna was totally useless. I shouldn't have listened to my mother while she was persuading me so much. “My Lord, you haven't had anything good to eat or drink in days,” Victor interrupted my peace. Victor was my beta, and he was loyal as well. He was in support of me rejecting Arianna. “Why are you here? I asked you to leave me alone. I need some time alone!!” I yelled, my voice roaring and thundering with so much fury. “I'm sorry,” he apologised, quickly heading out of my chamber immediately. Just as he went through the exit, my mother quickly turned it to an entrance, walking in with a firm look on her face. “What do you think you're doing?” She asked, glaring at the empty wine bottle in my hand and my sober face. It was hard for me to get drunk, and no matter how hard I tried, I just ended up feeling fed up with the wine without getting drunk. “What does it look like,

  • The Alpha's Last Chance    Chapter 5 : One big Leap

Arianna's POV I slowly turned towards her, but I was stunned by what I saw. “Why do you have a bag with you, and why do you look like you're embarking on a journey?” I asked confusingly. “How the hell will I let you walk this path alone? I told you I was going to be with you every step of the way,” she said, slowly walking towards me with a glowing smile on her face. “Where do you think I'm going to?” I asked, arms arched above my waist as I glared at her. “Anywhere you're going. Not like you have an idea where you're going to as well,” she replied. We both burst into laughter, hanging our arms over our shoulders as we both decided to leave together. But just as we were about to leave, grandma rushed out through the door, causing us to turn immediately. “Are you both thinking of leaving me without telling me anything,” she sobbed as tears trailed down her eyes. Seeing her break down emotionally, I quickly rushed to her as I grabbed her, embracing her tightly.
