SERA'S POV
The alarm rang so hard like it had been waiting for this moment that I was in my perfect dream to wake me up. The sounds shot so deep into my ears drums and straight into my drain like some mindlink from the Queen when she's upset. At the moment I opened my eyes, still looking heavy and very tired, my head aching from the ringing alarm of the phone. I raised my pillow up, pulled the phone from underneath it and tapped the off button so hard. The sky hadn't even brightened up yet. âgoddamnit this alarmâ I murmured to myself. Staring at the phone like it had a mind of its own when in essence I was the one who set it. At that moment I moved it aside and placed my head back sluggishly on the pillow. I closed my eyes to try and get myself a few minutes of sleep. Then it rang again, I jumped up from the bed in anger. âWtf I'm sure that I turned this alarm off, why ring again you cursed object from the jaws of disturbanceâ. I raised the phone again and turned it off. Trying to lay on the bed and get myself some sleep but at this time, the sleep had already completely vanished from my eyes. Staring at the ceiling, my eyes weak and tired, kept slagging off. Wondering how I'll get up and start out with my chores and then prepare for training. This was the worst thing that had ever happened to me but not like I had any other choice, no one would force me to do it but if I really wanted to become a power wolf I had to take this bull by the horn. I stood from the bed, pleasing my legs majesticly on the floor, I stared at them so gracefully. Indeed my foot was looking fresh this morning. Still sitting there I stared outside through the window and breathed in a sigh of exhaustion coupled with awareness of my freshly looking self. Gradually I stood up and headed towards the shower to brush my teeth then the calm sweet voice inside me spoke up. âSera darling you've been doing well lately, to yourself it may seem like you are overworking and overdoing things but you got it all wrongâŚâ. It was still speaking then I shunned it immediately I was not ready for any early morning pre lectures or parables of how the strong falter and waiver. I grabbed my toothbrush hard, poured some water on it and while solemnly pressing in a little tooth on it. Shurving the toothbrush straight onto the teeth so hard and then scrubbing the tongue like it had never gone through this routine every day. If I don't, the fear of what I felt 6 years ago may creep in and that was something I avoided at all cost. Those days were very horrible and I wouldn't allow myself to fall back regardless of anything. After I was done I casually tossed the brush into its rack. Then making my way towards the kitchen I had to pass that damn hallway so dark and creepy not to talk of the fact that I had seen a banshee there once making an incarnation that's I've never seen and it seemed to be targeted and really diabolical. I opened my room door and slowly stared at the hallway left and right. No one was there. I tiptoed my way through the hallway even the silence of a walking ghost was nothing compared to this. On getting to the kitchen. The door seemed to be locked but by who this time, I mean they all knew that I was the one who was to handle the kitchen and dishes this week and whenever I'm doing that, I prefer not to lock the door so who did this. My face went from suspense to anger. With my teeth grinding against each other and unseen flames erupting from my head. âPIXYâ. My mouth finally spoke. Like it had been caged and just dropped a huge bombshell out of it. She was the only one who would try this goddamn play with me despite knowing how much I enjoy handling my chores during the morning hours. I stood there for a moment, swinging in thought of what to do. I clenched my fist so hard on my dress that my claws almost took the better of it. After a few seconds I slowly released the grip from my dress and made my way back to my room. The hallway could feel my presence as I swung my legs like some Moon Goddess to be. I glided down the hallway, my hand reaching up instinctively to pat my hair. With a few practiced strokes of my fingers. I kept furrowing my hair. Each step I took echoed freedom and rest. At the thought of laying on to my bed. My tail unknowingly popped out of my gown in rhythm with my steps. With a slight push the door and making a cracking sound as it slowly opened. Damn my room was a hot mess. Waving my head in utter dismay I began to tidy as fast as I could every cloth that was out of order. I placed it back in its normal place immediately. I placed the pillows on the bed and dressed the bed up so nicely and looked around and murmured to myself ânow everything looks perfectly niceâ. I tried to sit on my bed when I noticed that my tail had already popped out of my gown and I wasn't wearing any underwear. My hands covered my mouth holding back the scream of disbelief that I was about to scream. I wiggled my waist so hard. Turning to the left my gaze halted on a pair of scissors on the table. I lifted it and brought it close to my tail, making a gesture that I was about to slice it again. It slid back into my body with full force like some worm crab crawling into its shell. A notification suddenly popped up on my phone screen. My eyes still recovering from it's lack of proper sleep couldn't catch a glimpse of it properly. I wondered who it was. Raising it slowly and staring at it, it was a group message from my ex Jerry.. He liked my story and replied to it.LIAM'S POV I reached my chambers only to find the guards Iâd trusted to stay alert were out cold. Their spears were leaning uselessly against each other, and their legs were sprawled out across the floor. One of them was actually drooling, a thin trail of saliva dripping from his lip like a leaky faucet.âWhat is going on here?â My voice sliced through the air, sharp enough to cut through their dreams.âMy lord!â They both scrambled to their feet, nearly tripping over their own boots. âDid you sleep well?â the second one asked, looking like a total idiot.I leveled a look at him that could have frozen a volcano. He flinched, glancing at his partner who was frantically trying to signal him to shut up.âMy lordâŚââGo in and bring her out,â I snapped, cutting him off. I didn't have the patience for excuses. Thatâs all these guards ever had, and I was in no mood to play games today. They both hurried into the room, but then they started acting strange. They ran forward a few steps, then
LIAM'S POV. "Move her to the side. Chain her hands and feet," I commanded, my voice flat and cold as the guards entered. They didn't move at first. They just stared at me, their eyes wide with a mix of horror and sick surprise. I could hear the faint, cocky vibration of their suppressed laughter as they dragged her to the corner of my room. They thought they knew what had happened behind those closed doors."I have important matters to attend to," I said, my voice shallow and raspy.I reached for my coat on the hanger. I moved slowly, pulling it across my chest and sliding my arms into the sleeves, one after the other. Every movement was deliberate, masking the chaos twisting inside me.I walked toward the stone pillar at the far end of my chamber. I looked down, letting out a heavy sigh before pressing my palm against the cold surface. Instantly, ancient runes glowed to life under my touch, and a hidden compartment ground open. I reached inside and pulled out the stone tablet. I sta
SERA'S POV I sat there, my body feeling like it was made of lead. The silver chains had finally stopped tightening against my neck, and the ones on my ankles had stopped burning through my skin. I learned the hard way that fighting back was a death sentence. Every time I tried to break free, the metal bit deeper, making my slow end feel inevitable. However the cell was still a tomb of silence. The only sounds were the ragged, heavy rasp of my breath and the lonely *clink-clink* of the chains whenever I tried to shift from one side of the cold floor to the other."Crawl outâ.A voice sliced through the quiet, dripping with a disgusting, saucy attitude. I heard the heavy turn of the lock as the cell door groaned open."I said *crawl*!"A loud burst of mockery followed. One of the guards doubled over, his laughter filling the room as he pointed a finger at me. He was hitting his own chest, gasping for air because my misery was just that funny to him.I guess to them, I was just a joke.
LIAM'S POV."Alpha Zambia needs our help?" Elder Ping sneered, the sound like a jagged blade against glass."We can't just turn our backs on him now," Elder Hamel replied, his voice heavy with a sadness that reached his eyes. "Those rogues... theyâve bled for our soldiers more times than I can count. If our borders aren't littered with the bodies of our young men, itâs because of their help. Help we didn't even ask for."*Bang!*The sound echoed through the council hall, a violent vibration that made my teeth ache. Elder Ping stood, his white garment flowing around him like a shroud of pure arrogance. "Insolence! Hamel, how dare you? Our kingdom, our nation... you want us to crawl into the dirt with a pack of rogues? To fight in a war that belongs to monsters?"His gaze was a sharpened arrow, aimed straight at Hamelâs heart. He didn't just want to win the argument; he wanted to draw blood."Yes. We should," Hamel countered. He didn't scream. He didn't even flinch. He just opened and c
SERA'S POV âI bet youâre all just grumbling at his feet like a bunch of lapdogs,â I shouted, my voice bouncing off the empty, cold stone walls of the cell block. I yanked on the long chains binding my wrists, the metal groaning as I tested the distance. âYou stand there guarding me like Iâm some kind of monster!â.I let out a raw, deep roar, my anger a fire that refused to be put out. âIf you call yourselves warriors, open these chains now! Letâs have a real fight. One on all! Iâll rip you limb from limb. And when Iâm done, Iâm going for your Lord. Your precious Lord who needs to be put out of his misery, for the Moon Goddess's sake.âI tried to lunge forward, to break the chains through sheer will, but the heavy iron around my ankles slammed me back down. I stared at the metal, the Banshee Runes etched into the surface pulsing with a sickly light. I pulled again, harder this time, but the chains around my neck only tightened, choking off my breath like a cursed item from the abyss.
LIAM'S POV I walked through the palace hallways, my hands clasped tightly behind my back. My head was tilted up, but my feet felt like lead with every step. The silence in the air was awkward, thick and heavy, as if the walls themselves were holding their breath. My gaze fell on a small male wolf sitting on the cold floor. He was hunched over, silently wiping away tears. As I drew closer, I saw the jagged injury on his foot."What happened to you?" I asked softly. He looked up at me for a long moment, then buried his face in his hands and sobbed. I swept my wolf sense across the hallway sixty-five feet in every direction. But the air was clear. No danger."Iâll bet you did this playing," I said, lifting him gently into one arm. âI'll take you to the healer's quartersâ. He stopped crying immediately. Leaning into me as I carried him toward the healers. A small, sad smile tugged at the corner of my mouth. As we got to the healer quarters I knocked on the door and was greeted by the sm
