Chapter-5

Noah's POV:

They say, in the end, is the beginning. It was true in my case, in our case. This is where everything began and ended. I stood on the border of the MoonStone pack, with my four paws. Adam brought me here.

He brings me here whenever he knows I am a bit low. I brought him here when I got him. I wanted to show Adam my own land, our original pack. We can't enter this land. I see my once beautiful land filled with weeds and rocks.

That night, I still remember it as if it had happened yesterday, the wounds are still fresh, even the pain.

That was the night when our pack alpha's daughter, aunt Mia, went into labor. Everyone around was very happy and excited, waiting for the next heir. And then she was born, the destructor, she consumed the whole pack. She turned half of the pack into ashes.

Most people died that day. Our Alpha, his son-in-law, and daughter, most of our pack warriors, and my mom. A war happened on that day and only for that baby. Dad was persistent about saving people and the alpha family, but our late Alpha Andrickson ordered dad to go away with the pack members and save the lives of the rest of the people.

Mom was holding me in her arms as she started running with the rest of the people, but she got shot by a silver arrow. Tears rolled down my cheek as I saw the flashes of that night.

That day is the nightmare I see every night, that day is the weight I carry on my soul every minute. The weight I can't let go of even if I want to.

Dad was able to save a few people. He created a pack with the remaining people and started to lead them. We settled in well in no time but our pack's main aim is to get back our real pack. Moon Stone pack, our pride. One day i will get my pack back.

I don't know what happened to the baby, it is not like I really cared as well, I still don't though. It's a good thing that she is far away from us. God knows even if she is alive or not.

"Shall we go in?" I say.

"Can we?"Adam asks.

"Who says we can't?" I reply.

"no one, but alpha says it's dangerous out there," Adam says.

"I got your back" I smirk.

Adam took a quick scan around and stepped inside the pack. It is pretty late already, so even if there is anyone from the Nightwalkers pack they might have been asleep. Because all I have here is silence.

Adam carefully stepped in. The Nightwalkers' pack is never to be trusted. I heard they use black magic. That's how they can tackle MoonStone pack warriors, by killing them with magic.

The Moonstone pack is known for its warriors.

The air felt free, so we roamed around for a while and settled down by the lakeside, which is just right outside the pack.

Lake Serenity. This lake divides both our old and new packs. It feels calm and peaceful whenever I sit by the lake.

I shifted back to my human form. It feels good after visiting the old pack. I am feeling less moody now, but the thing is that I have to attend a human school starting tomorrow. That thing still sucks. I don't want to. I heard even humans themselves don't like to attend school much and now what am I gonna do?

"Thinking about something?" Adam asked.

"Yeah, from tomorrow all the pack teens are attending human school," I said.

"Wow, isn't that a cool thing?" Adam says.

"What part makes you feel cool about it?" I ask.

"Dude, why don't you think of it as a break? All you ever be is in the woods. Let's go out and be amidst humans. You can learn new things. It will be a change of atmosphere," he says.

I like the way he puts everything in a positive way.

"But you can't come out when we are on human land, not even to the surface. We have to control our anger and blah blah blah, the list goes on and on and on"I say.

"It is okay, we can manage a few things together. Trust me, you are going to enjoy the new change" he replied.

Change. Adam knows me well, more than anyone. How can he not when he is a part of me? I hate changes. I don't like it. And now I have to adapt to the new lifestyle as well.

"Who knows, there is a possibility that we can find our mate out there" Adam howled in the back of my mind.

Seriously?Back to the mate topic?Again? ugh. It's not like I don't want to have a mate. I want to find my mate. I want to love her. I want to feel the bond, the sparks, the great love everyone keeps talking about.

I want all of it, the magical experience, but there is one thing that scares me, what if she doesn't accept me or worse, leaves me as my mom did? That thought itself breaks my heart.

I am 20. The usual age we get our wolf is 16 and, at the age of 18, we find our mates. It is been 2 years already and I haven't found my mate yet. There is no single pack that I haven't gone to in search of my mate, but there was no luck.

How can I find her on human land?

"We are going into human land," I say.

"There might be a chance, right? Who knows?" he replied in an angry tone.

Adam is more sensitive about the mate topic than I am. I didn't want to have this conversation right now. When the time comes, the moon goddess herself will guide us to each other. I trust her.

I sat there silently for a while and a cool breeze swept my way. There is a seductive smell in the air that is playing with my mind. The smell is a little tempting but I am sure it's not the kind of mate scent.

I turned my head around to find someone but there was no one in sight. It doesn't even feel like a threat though.

Then, in no time, I sensed someone's presence around me. It's a girl, the scent started to grow stronger.

I didn't turn my head, I looked straight at the water in front.

She made herself comfortable beside me.

"You look new here," she says.

"I turned my face around, you mean here? it's a barren land" I replied.

I didn't glance at her, not even once. But she is emitting such a strong scent, it is quietly irresistible.

"I can make you feel things" she whispered in my ear while trailing her finger alongside my neck.

I didn't show any interest. But there are many thoughts running inside my head about her.

Who is she? What is she doing here? It's more like no man's land.

I looked at her for a minute to take in her features. She has blonde hair and brown eyes. She kind of look beautiful. She is surely a wolf. I can sense that strong blood in that because she is carrying an aura around.

With a pure seductive smile plastered on her lips, she is clearly showing off what she wants. She wants to have sex. And I guess even I am down for it, but I won't let it show.

"Show me what you got, "I said with a smirk, glancing at her body.

Did I just say her smile is seductive? Strike that off, her whole body is.

Though it's a bit dark here, I can still see clearly. Who am I kidding? We are wolves.

"I think I should be the one saying that"and the girl placed her hand on my junior.

Adam is hating this idea. This is where me and Adam, mostly clashed about. I am open to sex, but on the other hand, he wants to wait for the mate to come and mark her. Old school, I rolled my eyes at him.

I pulled her onto my lap in a jolt, gripping her waist tightly.

"I see you are quite a strength. Make it rough darling" she growled.

I planted my lips on hers and started nibbling on her lower lip. The girl wrapped her legs around my torso and her hands in my hair. 

I slid my tongue into hers and started kissing roughly. I can feel she is trying to be dominant. I held her tightly in my arms and turned around, me on top of her and her facing the ground.

"Let's get into business," I said. 

She looks at me with excitement. 

I pulled her dress above the knees, exposing her beautiful soft skin.

I started sucking her nipples and she let out soft moans. Soon, the air was filled with her moans and my growls.

I woke up around midnight, and the girl was still beside me completely naked, and so was I.

I collected my clothes and left the place. I have to get back to my pack.

Ava's POV:

I reached forks, and it eventually became evening till I got settled there. I laid back on the bed and looked around my room. It is a decent room for a decent price. I had to take a room closer to the woods because it's quite costly near the school.

Now, especially since I decided to be independent, I need to be careful with my money and how I decide to spend it.

I took my phone and dialed mom. I need to inform her. I am sure she will be waiting for my call.

I clicked on the green icon and within no time mom picked up the call.

"Sweetie, did you reach there safely?" she asked with a concerned filled tone.

"Yes Mom, I reached and safely"I emphasized.

We talked for a while and filled her with information about my room and about the school.

"Don't worry about me, mom. I will be doing well here and I will fill you with my updates every now and then"I chuckle.

"Just take care" she replied.

"You too, love you mom," I said and ended the call.

I walked to the windows and opened them. A cool breeze hit my face. I let out a sigh. It feels good to be free and start a new journey. I hope everything works well for me. Not sure what forks have in store for me.
