That fridge belonged to Ariel and was for her personal use.

She had carefully chosen that model after much browsing, and it was no longer available on the market. Ariel was certain it was her old fridge.

She could tell because the fridge magnets she'd collected from different places were still stuck to it.

Georgia, the housekeeper who had managed the marital home, noticed Ariel staring at the fridge.

She walked over, opened it, and pulled out a glass jar of dried cranberries. "Mrs. Larkin, are you perhaps thinking of having some snacks first?"

Georgia still remembered Ariel's eating habits well and had instinctively offered something Ariel used to enjoy.

Ariel hadn't expected to find dried fruits stored in the fridge. She had assumed the fridge would be empty.

She glanced at the cranberries, noting their freshness and a recent expiration date.

"It's alright," Ariel said, declining the offer.

Jayson heard her response as he came over with a glass of water in his hand.
