Chapter 19

Mason wakes up in a strange, almost dark room, with his hands and legs tied, and seated on the floor. He opens his eyes slowly and strains his eyes to see what is before him; it is a passage with no door and he can see the trees in the moon light. A heavy wind begins to blow and the leaves start to wave and dance. Mason feels a heavy wind rush through him. Loud but slow footsteps begin to approach him as he struggles to let go but to no avail. A lady appears before him. He tries to picture her face as he examines her very well. His eyes are doing most of the job and they are really stressed out right now. The lady has a hat and she is backing the entrance, but due to the reflection and refraction of light, Mason is not able to see her face. She smiles devilishly and walks slowly towards Mason who struggles to let loose the rope. She bends down and holds Mason’s jaw. “Where are the others?” “I don’t know what you are talking about”, Mason said, still struggling. “Let me go, you witch!”
