I grunted while trying to get back on my feet but was hurled immediately by the guards and dragged to the dungeon.
I stared at Damon and all I could see was the unwavering rage built up in his eyes, one that I hadn’t seen before. Like I cared at all. I was busy feeling relieved that we died the topic of me being a spy.
I wasn’t worried about spending a week or two in the dungeon. After all it wasn’t my first time. My stepmom used to lock me up for the smallest reasons.
When we got to the dungeon, it didn’t feel the same. It didn’t feel like the dungeon back home. Here the air was concerningly thin, suffocating is the word I’d use.
The rusted steel bars spread and I was throwed into the dark room. I recognized a stench, a very strong one and it was right next to me.
I leaned it trying to discover what this familiar stench was and it hit me through my nose. It was the corpse of a rogue werewolf.
I jerked back as I swallowed my scream. I convinced myself that this wasn’t as bad as laying in bed with the same man that killed my mother.
I calmed myself to make it through the night.
I woke up to the sudden darkness not knowing whether it is day or night. Just as soon as I woke up I saw the rusty prison gates flung open. I squinted my eyes, avoiding the bright light.
In came the guard with my breakfast. He opened the gates and tossed it at me with a look of disgust written all over his face. “You haven’t said a word since you got to this palace but you’ve created more problems than anyone.”
I frowned as I kicked the tray and spilled the food. I won’t eat this food until I’m free from this dungeon or else I’ll remain here till he has used me to fufil all of his desires.
The guard angrily stepped out and came back with Damon. Like a kid that looses a fight and summons his elder brother.
“What is it that I’m hearing?” He roared while glaring at me.
I frowned my face immediately as he walked in to let him know that I’m not scared of him neither the situation he has put me in.
“Why are you rejecting food?” He asked as he eyes scanned the spilled food on the ground.
“Why are you feeding a criminal that is locked up?” I asked through our link. “Weren’t I supposed to be treated like the corpse of that rogue werewolf laying there? Why do you care so much of my health?”
“Why do I care?!” He lashed out. “You’re my property and I’m your owner. You will do as I tell you. And you will seize to disobey me and question my authorities.”
The guard stood there looking confused. “But alpha Damon, she didn’t say anything.”
“I am speaking to my Mate, and why are you still here?” He said as he filled the room with his aura making the air thin.
The guard immediately ran off before he passed out. I was also feeling the pressure but I dared not flinch or else he might think less of me and my stubbornness.
“Get up,” he yanked me on my feet and dragged me through the palace hall.
Each member of the pack came out one after the other to watch a new drama unfold. But with the way there murmuring, it doesn’t seem like they were concerned about the fact that I was being dragged. They were all murmuring and staring only at me. What could this mean?
He opened the door and threw me into his room. This was my first time in his room. And that made my stomach heavy. I had taken the widowsmite yesterday with the thought of his forcing himself on me after the party. I was so relieved that I got sent to the dungeon forgetting he could do it anytime he pleases.
“No,” I said as I clenched my teeth and bit my teeth. I immediately got up from the bed and backed the wall, facing him.
“Sit down,” his says with his bright crimson eyes glaring at me. The weight of his aura doing a lot of damage to my body. I started to feel my knees give out my throat dry up but I wasn’t about to allow my mother’s murderer nut inside me.
“Just because I’m mute doesn’t mean I’m weak,” I said through our link, barely standing. But I grit my teeth and used the wall as my support.
“Take a look at how pathetic you look trying to resist my aura. I’d sing your praises if that’s what rocks your boat. You aren’t weak indeed, werewolves pass out instantly when I expose my aura and here you are fighting,” he said as he walked slowly towards me.
He grabbed both my wrists and pinned them on the wall. Staring deep into my eyes like he was searching for something. The height difference was clear, I had to lift my head sixty degrees just to look at him face to face.
He held both my wrist wuth his left hand and with his right, he pulled me closer to him. His scent was no alluring today. Stronger than the first day it hit me. Today was different. The man I had hated even before I saw his face was the same man my wolf was longing for. This doesn’t make any sense.
“Now I want you to listen and listen carefully,” he said calmly. With every breath he took I could feel my wolf jumping for joy. But today wasn’t that day. I can’t let lust overwhelm me and make me forget my assignment in this pack.
Just as I was about to retaliate, a sharp knock came from the door.
A short middle-aged man with light complexion opened the door, with an expression of shocked on his face as he asked. “Is it true the girl is mute?”
GRACEThe ray of the sun came out immediately after dawn, signifying how hot it was going to be today. I got up as early as the sun and went to the training ground to train myself. I ran a few laps before sparring with the dummy. I was really making progress. It’s unfortunate that Damon wasn’t here to see me. He would’ve been proud of how much I’ve grown. I finished with my workout and freshened up before heading to Damon’s room to check up on him. When I entered, I saw him getting ready for training.“What the hell are you doing up so early? You could barely sit up by yourself and now you want to train?” I asked furiously.“You needn’t worry about me, Grace, I’m already feeling great. Yesterday was in the past. You should be glad that I’m up and about my business because that spell was really effective,” he grabbed his water bottle and opened the door to leave but I wasn’t about to let that happen.I placed my foot in front of the door, blocking his path. “I passed through so much
Grace's POV. “What happened to him?” I stormed into the room, breathing heavily. “How did it happen?” “We were just talking, and then…” Lily broke down in tears and buried her face in her palms. “And then he said he had to get some rest because he was exhausted.”She paused, and looked at him lying on the bed. “He had barely taken a step when he fell to the ground.” she added, her eyes burning with tears. “Is there anything you can do to help him?” She took my hands in hers, and looked into my eyes as tears continue to burn in her eyes. “Please, I beg of you.” she said, with a desperate appeal in her eyes. “You just have to do something to help him.” “It looks really bad.” I took a step forward, and looked at him. “It doesn't look like anything I've seen before.” “All the more reason why you should help him.” she said, trying to suppress the tears in her throat. “You won't leave him to die, will you?”“Of course, I won't.” I said, barely breathing the words. “I just hope there
GRACEImmortality Threads? But how’s that for Ben possible? I got up from the bed and stood before the window as if it would help me think more. I looked out the window, seeing food being brought into the palace through carriages. I still struggled to find it hard to believe so I went back to him.I placed my hands on his chest and o decided to clear my doubts and start searching for a solution. I grabbed him by the arm and noticed his veins had started to turn black. I stared at him and at his veins before shaking my head. “This is from the curse, isn’t it?” I asked if it’s a straight face because I had a hunch when I saw those threads on his body. He nodded with his eyes closed and his teeth clenched trying to beat the pain. The temperature of his body had started to increase. This was a sign to act fast because I couldn’t predict what next was going to happen to him and suddenly I remembered that there was a man who diagnosed him with this curse. If I could remember, they called
GRACEHe lifted his finger with great difficulty pointing at me like he had seen a ghost.“This cannot be real. I knew this day would come but what a coincidence that I’m seeing thu son my death bed.” *cough* *cough* He had began to cough uncontrollably. I immediately grabbed the clay jug by the side and helped him to drink from it. “I guess I can’t keep running away anymore, Marcy. I’ll soon be joining you so please find it in your heart to let me have my dying moments in peace. I don’t want to keep that horrible past. You can hunt and taunt me all you want once I’m up there with you. You’ve even came in the form—”I immediately interrupted him by placing a note on his chest.“You know my mother? How come? And why’re you calling out her name like that? You sound like you’ve known her for a long time.”I looked at him with impatient eyes. If this man knew my mother then surely he must know how she died.“Mister, Answer me! Did you know my mum?” I slipped another note into his hands
