I recalled vividly how I was taken aback by father's statement. I did not realise he was watching me with Franklin.

"It doesn't mean that I like that way," I tried to deny, but he smiled.

"The glint and excitement in your eyes tell me otherwise. I am only thinking about what I know you would like. I can't choose a man for you if you don't like him. And you being with Franklin, I think you'll be happy."

Father just made situations worse for me by confusing me the more. I was on an edge with who I really wanted between Franklin and Fred. Then when I finally made up my mind about who I wanted, Father brought this up.

"Don't let it stress you," he touched me gently. "Give it some time to think about it. But make sure to choose in the direction your heart goes. Whatever you decide, I promise I will not try to change your mind."

Someone touched me gently on the shoulder, and I looked up. Franklin was looking at me with concern in his eyes.

"Hey, are you okay?" He asked and I nodded.
