Sebastian

The car hummed softly as my driver waited for my next instructions. Outside, the street was empty—too calm, like the kind of calm that comes before a storm. I couldn’t believe I was about to do this, but it had to be done—and the only chance of getting out of this mess was talking to Charles Lancaster.

The silence outside was almost mocking. Pale streetlights cast long shadows across the cobbled road, and the gates of Lancaster Manor loomed in the distance like the jaws of some sleeping beast.

I gave my driver a sign to drive into the estate—Lancaster Manor. The familiar building up ahead brought a wave of nostalgia, curling through my gut like smoke. But even that couldn’t drown out the bitter truth—nothing beats staying the hell away from my father.

We stopped in front of the huge mansion, and my driver opened the door for me. I got out, adjusted my suit jacket, hands in my pockets. The chill in the air bit at my neck, I hesitated for just a split second before walking in.

Olivia“Olivia, please. Just stop for a second and hear me out.”I didn’t even look at her. My legs carried me straight to my bag, snatching it up with a sharp yank before storming toward the front door.“Liv, please, look, I’m sorry, okay? Can we just talk?”I spun around, fire crawling up my throat.“Whatever conversation you think you need to have, keep it to yourself, Lena.”I turned back and reached for the handle, but it didn’t budge. My fingers jiggled the knob, harder this time.“What the—?” My breath hitched.Behind me, from the other end of the room, her voice rang out too calmly. “You won’t be able to leave.”I blinked and stared at the door again, gripping the handle tighter. “What the hell do you mean I won’t be able to leave?”“Well I, uh...I activated the emergency lockdown. Once it’s on, no one goes in or out for twelve hours.”I froze, slowly pivoting toward her. “You did what?”“It was the only way to get you to stay and listen.”“Oh, hell no.” I narrowed my eyes. “Y

Philip Damn. The place looked like royalty had pissed gold on every surface. Gold-trimmed walls, imported paintings, soft jazz humming low in the background like a rich man's lullaby. Everything reeked of power and indulgence. I barely stepped through the door before he made his entrance. "Mr. Morris," Sebastian’s father called out from the bar, his voice sharp and unimpressed, like he’d been expecting me two days ago. Because he had. He walked toward me in slow, deliberate steps, a drink in hand and eyes that could slice through bone. "I asked you here two days ago. You decided to show up now?" I kept my stance casual, even though every instinct in me told me to watch my back. "I needed time to think," I said flatly, letting my gaze wander over the room like I wasn’t about to sign a deal with the devil. "Didn’t want to jump into bed with a Lancaster without checking for knives under the sheets." He chuckled low, settling into an armchair with the grace of someone who owned th

SebastianI had her wrapped in my arms, her head tucked beneath my chin “Thank you,” I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. She tilted her head up, blinking sleepily with a smile that curled at the edges of her lips. “For what?”“For this. For making all the noise in my head go quiet.”Her smile deepened, and I felt something inside me loosen. Like I’d been holding my breath for days and she’d just let me exhale. Her eyes fluttered shut again, lashes brushing against her cheeks like feathers. I watched as her breathing evened out, slow and peaceful in my arms. But I couldn’t sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, the dream came clawing back.It was just a dream. That’s what I kept telling myself. But even in the calm of the room, with Olivia curled into me like I was her anchor, my thoughts were anything but settled.I turned slightly, studying her face. How the hell was I supposed to leave her? The Echelon Society expected me to let her go like she was disposable. Like she didn’t

Olivia“It’s been a whole damn month, Nathan. And now you remember to call me?” I snapped, pacing restlessly as I pressed the phone harder to my ear.His voice was tight. Nervous. “I know, Ma’am. I’m sorry. But I need you to be careful. Phillip’s planning something, something unexpected. I’m not sure what it is yet, but I’ll let you know the second I find out.”“Nathan,” I said, lowering my voice, “You need to be careful too, okay? If they even suspect you’re tracking them—”“I’ll stay sharp,” he cut in. “Thanks for worrying.”And just like that, the line went dead. Four weeks of silence, and now he finally calls just to leave me dangling with more questions. No answers. No time. No damn clue what Phillip was up to. Just a cryptic warning, and poof he was gone again.I let out a shaky breath, tucking my phone into my back pocket as I made my way toward the dojo. Even from a distance, I could hear it, the raw, brutal sound of fists slamming into leather. One after another. Relentless.

Phillip I blinked at him, hard, bitterness spiking up my throat like bile. “Why the hell are you telling me that? You seen what your son did to my damn face?”He glanced at me. Unbothered. Barely entertained.“I doubt Sebastian did that himself. He’s not the type to get his hands dirty. No, he’d have hired someone. If it was him… you wouldn’t be standing here whining. You’d be hooked up to machines in the ICU, clinging to life.”He smiled then. But it was a sharp, mocking twist of his lips. Like watching a knife learn how to grin.“I’m not here to apologize. I’m here to offer you something most people would kill for.”I stiffened. “Oh yeah? What’s that?”“Power.”He stepped even closer, and his scent, rich cologne, cold steel, expensive leather, wrapped around me like a chokehold.“I want to introduce you to the Echelon Society.”"The what?" My eyebrows pulled together. The name rang a bell. “I’ve heard of it,” I murmured, voice wary. “But I don’t know where.”“It’s a society for men

PhillipKaylee stood in the doorway, barely dressed, robe loose, red lips parted, perfume heavy in the air. She knew what she was doing.“You know, I could keep you company,” she breathed, stepping inside, her eyes flicking toward my room like an invitation.I looked at her. The silk clinging to her curves, the soft sway of her hips, none of it stirred anything in me. .My gaze caught on the scar she’d tried to hide beneath thick makeup. She tensed, like she could feel me noticing. She wanted to distract me with gloss and skin and sweetness. But all I felt was tired.“Kaylee, just leave,” I turned around,m not bothering to look her way. “I don’t have the patience for your drama right now. I want to be alone.”She stared at me a second too long, eyes tight with frustration, then let out a sharp hiss and stormed off, slamming the door behind her.I thought I’d feel guilty watching her go. I didn’t. On a normal day, I’d have fucked her to shut off my thoughts, bury my frustrations betw
