Olivia

What the hell was Kaylee doing here so early? She wants us to hang out, and she didn’t even call—sneaking into my room while I was asleep? Since when?

I blinked hard, still groggy, the dull light spilling through my curtains casting long shadows across the room. My brain wasn’t fully awake, but my gut screamed danger. Something wasn’t right, but I kept my grin plastered on like a mask as I studied her overly excited face.

“Okay, so what do you have in mind for us to do?” I asked, still smiling. Since she wanted a girls’ hangout so badly, I’d give it to her.

“Nothing much. I thought maybe we could just hang out here,” she said.

“In my house?” I asked, needing to hear it again—because none of this was passing the vibe check.

“Yes.” She nodded, bright-eyed like a damn cartoon.

My mind spun, eyes darting to her like she was a puzzle with bloody pieces. She definitely had a reason for being here. No way this was just a casual pop-in. I could practically hear the wheels spinning in h

SebastianThe next day was hectic, as I had a lot of rallying around and PR management control concerning the city’s newest acquisition. Finally settling back in my office, I leaned back in my chair, letting out a slow breath. The walls felt too tight. My mind wandered—no, fled—to my wife. The way she’d lit up with excitement when I told her we’d spend the day together—it warmed something in me. That light in her eyes, that unfiltered joy… damn, it had a chokehold on me. She always acted like a child around me, and I liked that about her. The way she trusted me with her whole heart. The way she looked at me like I was her safe place.Still, the weight of what I was hiding pressed on my chest.I felt bad for lying to Olivia. Really bad. I planned to tell her the truth—just not yet. I couldn’t—not until I figured a way out of the Society. That effort, by the way, was still fruitless. A damn dead end at every turn. But I wasn’t going to let that pull me down. I clung to every moment I go

  • Dear Husband, My Turn To Love You    Chapter 48

SebastianThe doorbell wouldn’t stop ringing, its chime trailing down the long. Then came the quick, eager click of heels, growing louder with every step.My brows rose in surprise when she appeared… Stella? Before I could even gather my thoughts or say anything remotely sane, she threw her arms around me, smothering me with familiarity like no time had passed. Her grip was tight, almost too intimate, sending a confusing jolt through me."Sebastian, I missed you so much!" she whispered, her voice low and perfume wrapping around me like smoke. She pulled back just enough to press a kiss to my cheek—uninvited and bold. What the hell...My jaw clenched out of slight irritation and I stepped back slightly. I searched her eyes for any hint of an explanation but found only mischief and something unreadable."Stella," I said, keeping my voice as even as I could, though the surprise and curiosity were practically oozing out. I was happy to see her, no doubt, but the way things were between u

OliviaI shifted on the bed until I was facing Sebastian. He was still deep in sleep, his lashes resting gently on his cheeks, lips just a bit open as if dreaming aloud. I missed having him close. Going to sleep without sleeping in the same bed was torture. Now, we were finally on the same bed. Everything was back to normal. I could finally go back to plotting against Philip and Kaylee. My lips spread into a smile, mischief blooming like a secret garden in my chest."What are you smiling at?" he groaned, sleepy eyes still closed. How did he even see me?I ran my hand down his lips—they felt so soft, like warm velvet dipped in honey."Can you just go back to sleep and allow me admire you?" I whispered playfully, the words a lazy purr in the quiet night.I traced his jawline, fingertips savoring the familiar ridges and strength there. "I missed you, hubby," I mumbled to myself, thinking he had gone back to sleep."I missed you more, darling," he murmured, eyes still closed. I couldn’t s

Olivia“I just need today off, Kim. I’m sorry for being incompetent,” I told my manager. She let out a long, tired sigh.“It’s okay, Liv. Get better soon, okay.”I hung up and stayed curled up in bed, trying to curb this sadness in my chest. I’d watched Sebastian on the news this morning, and he looked even more miserable than I was. That said a lot, considering I felt like I was breaking into little, unfixable pieces. I hated this fight with him, but he needs to be able to confide in me. That’s why I was his wife, after all.I may not have earned his trust yet, but I at least deserve a little respect, right?I had fashion shows to walk—as the masked model, no less. But I had to cancel them all. I wasn’t in the right state of mind to be anyone's fantasy when I could barely stand being myself.Right now, I’ve accepted that Sebastian is the center of my world, and I can’t function or do a damn thing without him. Might seem pathetic, but it was the truth. It scared me, how much of my pea

Sebastian“Sebastisn, is that you?” Kaylee cooed, drawing closer. Only Kaylee could make my name sound like it needed disinfecting.“Wow! What are you doing here?” she asked in her annoyingly sweet voice, sliding into the chair beside me.In that moment, I couldn’t help but wonder what her face would look like when she and Phillip realized their crates of “Rhodium” were nothing but glorified sand sculptures. From the bags under her eyes and that twitch in her fake smile, I’d say: mission very much accomplished.“Just needed some coffee. What about you?” I asked, trying to keep it cool. How did Olivia do this with ease? She smiled, and it was scary how the scarred part of her face stretched up creepily. It didn’t help that her smile didn’t reach her eyes. “Oh me? I was trailing someone,” she said, then winked at me.No way—she couldn’t be serious.“Trailing someone? Who?” I asked, playing along, because apparently I was in the mood for self-torture today.“It’s nothing, it’s nothing,”

I’d messed up. I knew it the second the shine in her eyes dimmed. The second her shoulders dropped and her voice shrank. When she turned away, when she ran to the room—I felt it. The kind of guilt that splits you open and pours shame straight into your lungs.Fuck.“Olivia... Olivia, please open up. I'm sorry, let’s talk. Please.”My voice was low, cracked from regret. I stood there like a statue, forehead pressed against the door as if the cool wood could ease the burn spreading through my chest.“I was stupid just now... please talk to me, hmm?”For a moment, I heard only silence. Then the door cracked open—just a little. But to me, it felt like a miracle. Her eyes were puffy, lips pressed together in a tight line, and I could see the tears she’d tried so hard to wipe away. That familiar ache stabbed through my ribs again. Way to fucking go, Sebastian Lancaster—wreck the one thing that ever felt like home.“Olivia, I—”She leaned on the doorframe, voice soft but firm. “I don't want
