Alice's face registered shock and dismay once she realized that Libby had runoff. She was an inch away from learning about what was bothering her, an inch away from finding out how to fix everything. She turned to look at Lauren, giving her a frustrated look.

Lauren didn't look concerned at all. She blinked lazily up at Alice, unfazed by her expression.
