A day to remember
"Wh-What truth?" I felt my face draining of all colors.
"Why?" He breathed.
"W-Why what?"
He stepped closer as his intense gaze penetrated through me. "Why do you wanna come with me? Are you concerned for my life, or are you only carrying out your duty?"
I stared at him. For a second, I thought he found out my lies, but looked like the facade got another unfortunate day to live. He watched me, waiting for my answer. So closing my eyes, I sucked in a deep breath for this question was equally hard to answer.
"Both." The word slipped my lips in stark honesty.
I opened my eyes to see the corners of his lips lifting in a hypnotizing smile, like he was satisfied by my reply, like he was expecting it. Swirling around, he strolled out.
