Chapter 22 –A Movie Date

“Now, what are we doing here?” I looked at the busy place and felt a headache coming as I saw Alex grab tickets of a date movie.

A date movie for fake dating people. Great.

“Dancing. That’s what people like you do in a theater, don’t they?” his sarcasm sense is so poor, I tell you but that face just makes me want to smack him.

“Really, I never knew that, must be what your people usually do here. Stop being a jerk and just tell me why we are here in a damned theater with tickets of a date movie!” I finally calmed after snapping and looked really happy with all the shouting we were doing. It is kind of calming and restful for me.

“We got out to watch a movie and that we will do.” He said and moved with the line.

“Why? What got into you, some spirit of not lying, Mr. faker?” No matter what, I am enjoying this feeling of being totally out of my mind and after what I decided to do next in my life, he won’t be a boss anymore to me.

“Just shut-up and follow.” Alexander drawled and walked to the seat, which was my dear, the only seat that a fake-couple shouldn’t take.

The corner seats.

Are you crazy? You took the seat where everything can happen to do nothing? Destroying my fantasy of this seat, are we?

“I am not sitting here, change the seats.” I said and crossed my arms while he looked at me before pulling me to sit and with a glare quietened me up.

Then, my dearies, the movie started, and the leads were shown in school doing something that I, as an incredibly old and gold youth didn’t even do yet.

No, they weren’t having sex, but the tension was making it feel like they would but of course, in such movies, the sex never happens in the beginning because a misunderstanding comes in the form of ex’s and Oh’s.

Alexander handed me a nice mojito with a nachos pack for him and ate as we watched the movie while discussing and dissing the plot.

“Tell me why she would not trust him, didn’t she just say she trusts him?”

“I don’t get why it keeps getting complicated, this is childish!”

“If I was him, I wouldn’t even care about this, I mean it was just a hug and that too a very normal one.”

“He went and kissed a girl because of a hug, great.”

“Should she go and have sex now?”

“That’s fucking complicated, my head’s hurting.”

With all the dissing and discussion, we were practically best friends because we both might never be in love with other people.

Not because we have each other but rather, we might just be too practical.

Finally, the ending came, and we were able to run out of the torture and thanks to God, we watched the movie and were finally calm and not snapping or being sarcastic to each other.

“What did you mean by someone getting more hurt by this contract?” Alexander asked as he kept his head down to stare at the food in his plate and I sighed.

“Look, you are a rude, rich, and handsome guy, with all the bad boy vibes. And there’s no girl who wouldn’t fall for a charm of a bad boy, say what you can but this is the truth. You don’t even know what can change your heart at any given moment. I don’t want to get hurt over a guy who wants space from his parents and fake love to get it.” I said and he kept looking into my eyes. The type of look searching for any evidence of lie.

“I get it, but I feel like you have some misunderstanding about the contract. It’s a one-year contract that will only end when I want it to before the deadline.” He said and I tilted my head.

“I know that but aren’t we looking for ways to get out of the contract and breakup, I mean it’s already been two months.” I was pretty confused.

“And a two-month relationship can cause a heartbreak?” he looked at me and I almost wanted to say that any relation can cause a heartbreak, doesn’t matter one day or a month.

But hey, who will explain to this guy.

I was about to talk him into breaking up when I heard a voice and I wanted to run taking my boss away with me.

“Hello there, Amelia.” My ex is way too free to bring his girlfriend here to talk to me.

“You didn’t even attend the gallery, we really wanted you to. Why didn’t you come?” she looked at me with a small smile and cunning eyes.

Wow, why is she a model? Go for acting.

Just how many actors are there in my life?

“Who are they, Amy?” Alexander spoke even though it wasn’t even needed because anybody would know from their body language, who they are.

“Uh, that’s Nick and that’s his girlfriend Jen.” I introduced them and Alexander shook his hands with Nick and then placed his hand on my back.

Honestly, everything aside, he is a gentleman because the hand wasn’t uncomfortable at all.

“Amelia, you are not angry at us, right?” Jen’s eyes were filled with tears and her eyes stayed at me before straying to Alexander and that angered me a little. This kind of bitch just makes it hard to not be angry.

“I am not at all angry at you both. Why should I be?” I said and the air around us dimmed a little and Alexander said before anybody else could.

“She found a better someone learning from her mistakes of the past. And I can assure you Miss. Jen, my girlfriend isn’t angry at you guys at all otherwise, she is absolutely true about everything she does, she is pretty happy and doesn’t have time to care about others. Right, baby?” he looked at me with mischief sparkling eyes and I nodded my head with a real smile that stretched over my face.

Ayi, it was so cute.

“Shall we have a lunch date together. I mean, it will be fun, and we can rekindle our friendship.” Jen said and I know, this girl is interested in Alexander now.

Why is she even–

“No, we shouldn’t. I am quite a possessive man and watching my girlfriend smile at her ex, just doesn’t settle well with me. I am sorry but I’d like to have her all to myself.” Alexander said before nudging me and I nodded at them with a cute-shy smile and went out with him.

I can write a lot in my new novel.

Oh right, I should also talk about my new job to my family and Alisha.
