My eyes settled onto what looked like the pack house and all of the members' houses surrounding it. There were buildings and shops lining the streets. I shifted back and pulled on my clothes before deciding to look around and take in everything around me.

As I walked by members, they were chatting, laughing, and socializing with each other.

Everything seemed so...normal. Some people gave me odd looks saying 'Oh, you're new' or

'Who are you?' and stuff like that.

I smiled as I saw pups running around and being scolded by their mothers.

"Watch out!" A feminine voice called out to me.

I snapped my head forward just in time to crash into someone. A groan escaped my lips as my head came in contact with the sidewalk.

"Shit! “I'm so sorry," the person apologized repeatedly as I glanced up to see who this person was. A smile formed on my lips as I recognized the familiar girl with caramel-colored hair.

"It's fine," I assured her as I stood up. Her eyes widened with realization as she recogniz

The week went by agonizingly slow. I tried so many times to get to know Lily, yet she seemed really shy and sometimes even tried to avoid me.My brother seemed so depressed and was in a mood because of his mate. I didn't blame him because I understood what he was going through. I felt the empty feeling but tried to ignore it. I hardly got any sleep and couldn't concentrate on my school work, but it's not like I did well anyways.I fixed the strap of my bag on my shoulders as I walked to the library. I was supposed to meet with my tutor here while I had a free period.I swung the door open and walked in greeting one of the librarians who was at the desk. I came here often to get books so they practically knew me.I took a seat at an empty table and pulled out my huge biology textbook along with the notes.I attempted to get some of the assignments done but struggled in the process. Why the hell was I taking an AP class? After a few minutes passed, the seat across from me pulled out and

"What?"I could hear my mom's voice all the way from my room. I winced slightly."Does that mean I have to go hunt down both of my kids' mates?"Apparently.I remembered dad telling me that mom rejected him. I didn't blame her, from what they both told me, he used to be a 'Class-A Asshole'. He told me the bond was still there because he never accepted the rejection, which kept the bond from completely breaking.I guess it's not just me having mate troubles. I could feel my wolf yearning for my mate and I sometimes felt myself wanting him to.But then I remember who he is and it all goes away.~~I laid on my bed reading and watching TV.A knock on the door brought my attention away from my book."Come in," I called out. Preston opened the door and I waved him over.He closed the door behind himself, before walking over to me and taking a seat on my bed."I'm sorry about your mate," I began, not knowing what to say.He shrugged his shoulders sadly, "I'll get her back. But I don't know

I stood at my locker, putting my textbooks in so I didn't have to carry the damn things around.London stood next to me, chatting about some guy she hung out with over the weekend.I closed my locker and we started walking to AP Calculus together."I walked in on my parents getting it on in the living room," she told me, scrunching up her nose. "I swear I'm never going in there again."I couldn't help but laugh because I could relate so much. My parents were constantly doing stuff everywhere. It's a wonder how Preston and I are their only children. I guess it's a good thing because their bond is still strong. I'm just lucky that the walls in our house were not thin."Anyways, how was Texas? See any hot Alphas?" She asked curiously as we reached the stairs to the second level."Yeah, there definitely were some," I muttered under my breath as we walked up the stairs. When we reached the top, I saw Justin talking to Eric. He waved me over when he saw me and greeted London and I. He pulle

Darkness swallowed me up, blanketing me so I could no longer see light. My wrists felt tied by rope that scraped my skin. I gritted my teeth as I felt the silver burning my skin, weakening me so I couldn't free myself.I stopped struggling when I caught a glimpse of red in the darkness.Glowing red eyes.Scratch that. Flames. Flames that looked like pits of fire straight from hell that could burn you just from a glance.I felt like I was in a trance that almost seemed too impossible to get out of."Now I have you right where I want you," a voice whispered darkly..My eyes snapped open. Sweat dripped from my body, my skin burning as if it was touched by fire.My lungs constricted as if I was being choked. It was almost too painful to breathe."Liana! What's wrong?" Gianna asked, quickly moving to my side. I could barely see her through my blurry eyes. She looked panicked, her eyes wide, as I coughed from trying to breathe. My body was paralyzed and I couldn't speak. The door opened lo

"Are you sure you're okay?" Preston asked for what felt like the billionth time.I glanced at him from the corner of my eye then back at the TV. "Yes, why wouldn't I be?" I asked, pretending to be confused. In full honesty, I wasn't sure. My mind kept wandering back to those eyes. Something about them felt cold and intimidating. I still didn't understand how I didn't see who it was. After Preston and I got back, we decided to watch TV. I was no longer tired. I had changed into a pair of shorts and a baggy T-shirt and was now sprawled out on the couch with my legs propped on his lap.I happily ate some of the mint brownies that Preston took from the dessert table. He grabbed at least eight of them.I was thankful that he actually shared them with me. I would've kept them all to myself...I was getting a little hungry even though I had just eaten. I got my big appetite from my mom.We watched for about another hour before Gianna came back, a grin on her face."What's up with you? I aske

  • Defiant Moon   Chapter Fifty-one

"Preston, we're back!" I called out to my brother as we entered the hotel room.A door opened and he exited from his room. He was shirtless and sweatpants hung loosely from his hips."Put on a shirt, you're not here by yourself you know," I muttered, giving a glance towards Gianna who ogled my brother.I rolled my eyes. Girls were always after him, but he was so closed off that he ignored them.He told me he wanted to save himself for his mate, just like my dad. He should be meeting his mate soon, though.Ignoring what I said, he plopped down on the couch and turned on the TV, "Where did you go?""To get some dresses for tonight," I replied, sitting in the box with my dress in it on a chair."You? A dress?" He raised an eyebrow."Yeah, I know. Weird, right?"I took a seat on the couch and Gianna followed. We spent at least two hours watching TV. It was around six when we finally decided to get ready. We headed to our room. I got to the bathroom while Gianna changed in the bedroom. I c
