I stared at my empty phone. I sat opposite it and spoke to it like I would a friend. Of course, it didn’t reply back, what was I thinking? Every beep and every slightest sound the phone would make made me jump up and open the phone in anticipation. What was I anticipating you may ask? “Alright so just lay down right here. Take in deep breaths, and calm your mind. The doctor will be here soon,” the nurse said to me. She was making me lay down back flat on my bed. I did need to take deep breaths because I was a nervous wreck already.Her voice was already soothing enough and I took refuge in it while I relaxed my back. My head still hurt a little from all that thinking and remembering. I was glad there was a remedy for all of that. I knew Rick was lying to me about how we ended up. I wanted to know things for myself. I didn’t want even my sister to tell me what had happened because even if I confided in her, I was still the one who felt the pain. ……. Throwback Ends…….I was slowly coming back to life as I heard the beeping sounds of the machines and I felt something on my nose because I wasn’t breathing pure air. I tried to open my eyes and I had a terrible headache instantly. The headache shot through my entire body.Where was I? I pondered for a minute then remembered I had just gone through surgery. A surgery that was going to determine my fate in the nearest future.I finally opened my eyes and was welcomed by the blurry sight of bright light. I squinted my eyes as much as possible trying to avoid the light from burning my eyes.I looked to my side and saw a notebook then memories came flashing into my brain. I remembered how the doctor had given me that notebook and how I had written something down on it. I sat up carefully on my bed and reached for the notebook.
