Chapter 17 - Are There More Of Them?

As I fix the tie around Thail's neck, I hear the rumbling purr from his chest in my ears. It's a reminder of him not being a human, and I'm baffled by how gentle he is despite that.

In every fairytale, demons are these evil creatures that harm people for fun, but Thail doesn't seem opposing.

He is sitting obediently on a chair with his shoulders slumped forward, so I can easily reach him. I blush and try to ignore the fact that the size difference is actually doing it for me these days.

I feel safe, and Thail... He is adorably helpful and seems excited about meeting my friends in the woods.

Life really is bizarre. I can't believe I'm about to introduce Sally and Victoria to a demon. I giggle to myself. My friends think we are about to have an ordinary picnic in the woods.

"I'm excited about meeting your friends," Thail says in a low tone and meets my eyes. "Will there be lots of food?"
