Chapter 9 - Farewell

"No, you can't come to dinner even if my granny invited you!"

Thail frowns down at me.

I feel silly trying to prevent him from leaving my room. My palms push against his abs, but it's not like I'm moving him anywhere. He dramatically towers above me. We both know he could easily get past me, but he sits down on the bed again out of respect.

But he doesn't look happy.

Thail crosses his arms over his chest. "I want to learn what humans eat for dinner, and your granny invited me."

"She would freak out if she saw you!" I whisper-yell at him and gesture at his whole being. "Your kind doesn't exist in this world, and you can't be seen by anyone. If bad people saw you, they would capture you and take you to experiment on."

"I don't know what that means, but that was your granny. She can't be a bad person. She is part of your family!"

"You still can't meet her, or she will suffer from a heart attack!"

"Why would she get a heart attack?"

"Because you're huge and intimidating!"
