The probing attack had served its purpose, paving the way for the main assault. From his vantage point atop the wall, Wise observed the advancing Merlock army breaching the city's final line of defense with a solemn expression."Fire!" he commanded, his voice ringing out across the battlefield. "Knights, defend the gate!"With practised precision, the two hundred archers raised their bows, arrows aimed at the oncoming Merlocks. Meanwhile, inside the gate, the waiting knights bore grim yet determined expressions, prepared to repel the impending assault."Send word to Dray," Wise instructed urgently. "Have him lead the cavalry. When the opportunity arises, they are to charge into the fray!"“Roger!”Dray wasted no time upon receiving the orders. Mounting his horse, he drew his axe, eyes fixed on the emergency gate opening before him.A thunderous rumble of hooves filled the air as the cavalry, previously stationed outside the city walls, sprang into action. To the south, Roland and hi
“Crazy!”Aldo's arrow, released with a confident aim, found its mark, burying itself deep into the Merlock's neck below the fortified wall. The armour, meant to protect, was no match for the sharp projectile, and a gush of blood spurted out, painting the ground beneath the beast. But, to Aldo's disbelief, the Merlock did not falter. Instead, it looked up at him, its face twisted into a maniacal grin as if the arrow was nothing more than a bothersome insect. And, in a gruesome display of defiance, the Merlock yanked the arrow out of its neck, leaving a gaping wound that only seemed to fuel its ferocity. The sight of the Merlock's resilience sent a shiver down Aldo's spine, but it also ignited a fire within him.The Merlock's defiance was a splash of red, a crimson tide that painted its body and the ground beneath it. It was a testament to its fearlessness in the face of death, a statement of unwavering determination in the midst of war.But that defiance came at a cost. The Merlock's l
But the real issue at hand was not the arrows. The archers, who had been continuously drawing their bows in the heat of battle, were now feeling the strain on their arms. The constant exertion had sapped their energy and strength, leaving them physically drained.Wise considered using his master's healing abilities to alleviate the archers' pain and restore their energy, but he ultimately decided to hold back. He wanted to add a level of excitement to the battle for his fellow summons and his master. By limiting their use of magic, Wise was able to create a sense of challenge and excitement for his team..“Glglgl!” it wasn’t even an hour. The roars of the Merlocks echoed through the air, signaling their renewed attack. The archers, who had been resting on top of the walls, quickly sprang to their feet, readying their bows once again. Despite the pain and exhaustion in their arms and shoulders, none complained.Aldo, with a grimace, applied a herb to his bleeding fingers. "This attac
"The prognosis is far from favourable," Wise maintained his composure, unclouded by the thrill of the moment. The unforeseen tenacity and audacity of the Merlocks left him taken aback. He had not anticipated such ferocity from a bestial race. The Merlocks had underestimated their adversaries, but Wise, too, had not given the Merlocks the consideration they deserved.Wise observed the archers stationed atop the city wall, their rapid-fire volleys taking a toll on their hands, leaving them numb, and their spirits dampened. The Merlocks' relentless onslaught brought them ever closer to breaching the wall's defences. If the assault persisted at this intensity, the city wall's collapse was inevitable[1][3]. The Merlocks' tenacity and unyielding approach posed a significant threat, and Wise understood the gravity of the situation, recognizing the need for a strategic response to counter their adversaries' tactics.A resounding thud echoed through the air, capturing Wise's attention. Dear Readers,I hope this note finds you well amidst your own journeys. As much as I cherish our shared exploration through the pages of our tales, I must temporarily step away to tend to the scholarly demands that beckon me. Exams, those formidable tests of knowledge and perseverance, await on my horizon.Know that this brief interlude is but a pause, not an end. Our adventures together shall resume with renewed vigor and imagination once the academic tempest subsides. I lost all my senses as I was enveloped in the terrifying darkness. I felt as if I was separated from everything I had a connection with, the material world, my senses. Trying to remember what happened to me, but all I could remember was that I died and found myself in a strange place before everything became filled with darkness. Yes, I remember one more thing. The voice I heard before being enveloped in darkness was saying something about some system activating. While I was dwelling in these thoughts, sounds began to come in from all directions and just as it reaches me, I hear a voice. [System Activation Successful] [Status] [Level:1] Is this what I think it is..... [Stats] HP: 50 DEF: 15 ATK: 9 [Other stats are locked] Holy shit! So if I am correct, I just got reincarnated into some world with a system. Does this mean I am some hero with OP skills like in those novels I read!?
I saw it, something I never would have wanted to see.A beast that I have seen in the games I have played. The epitome of strength, brutality and madness.Orcs.It made me come to the reality that the world I am in now is not Earth anymore. All this time I was still going easy with everything treating it as if I am in some game. The wolflike beast that I saw earlier is being held in one of its arms as it uses the other to tear it in half. Just to remind you, the wolflike beast is at least 3 times larger than me, but it wasn't even worth comparing to that Orc.I thought that Orcs were at least twice the size of a human but the one I am seeing right now is easily 5 times the size. that also makes me realize how gigantic this place is. Even though the Orc is almost 15m in height, it doesn't even reach half the length of this place from the ground to the ceiling.Does this mean that there are monsters or beast that is larger than the Orc in fron
[Stealth has reached level 3]Hmm? Nice! Skill level up!But how did it levelled up? I didn't even hide...I get it. What I am doing in this hole is hiding! Does that actually count? This is such a huge opportunity to farm my skill level for my stealth. I should try and see what other skills I can level up in this way.I'll think about that later, I need to hunt today. It's not every day I'll get free food from the Orcs. But engaging in combat means instant death for me based on the monster I have met till now.I'm sure there are other weaker monsters in this place, Right!!?? If not I am totally screwed.I also need a safer place as my shelter, the hole I am staying in now may be safe for now but if I am found it's more like a death trap cause I have no way out.I'm so hungry...Hiding in my shelter there's only one thing on my mind.FOOD!!I'm starting to remember all the delicious foods I have eaten in my previous life,
