Fun Gem Claw

Ashley was excited all day and she couldn't wait for it to be dusk, after what seemed like forever, it was finally dusk and she got dressed in one of her favorite dresses.

She giggled happily and rushed downstairs, she sat in the living room and waited anxiously for Hayden. She stared at the time and noticed it was still 7:00 pm.

“It is still early, he will be here soon.” She muttered and played with the tip of her dress.

Minutes turned into hours that Ashley as been expecting Hayden, she stared at the time on her phone and sighed seeing it was midnight already.

Tears clouded her eyes and she bit her lip to fight back the tears, she knew she should have kept her hopes high but she thought he would show up since he promised her.

“Ma’am.” Butler Lucas called walking to her and she sighed, the tear she has been holding rolled down and Lucas smiled at her.

“I think you should go to bed, I don't think sir Hayden is coming home anytime soon.” He said and she nodded.

“Lucas.” She called and he smiled at her.

“Yes ma’am?”

“Can you go to a park with me?” She asked and sniffed, Lucas, chuckled and smiled at her.

“Ma’am, I would love to but I am old already and it is against the rules.” He said and she nodded, Ashley stood up and head towards the stairs.

“Ma’am.” A bodyguard suddenly called walking towards her and she gave him a questioning look.

“You need to come with me now ma’am.”

“Why?”

“It's urgent and the order I was given is that you must come with me.”

“But... “

“I think you should go with him, ma’am.” Lucas cut Ashley off and she sighed.

“Okay.” She muttered and walked to the guard, they both walked out of the house and entered the car.

“Where are you taking me?” She asked.

“I am not allowed to tell ma’am but we will be there soon.” He replied and drove out of the mansion, Ashley suddenly remembered Hayden’s warning to her and her heart skipped a beat.

She took in a deep breath and anticipated the worst, after minutes of driving, the car finally stopped in a dark area and Ashley became scared.

“Where are we?” She asked in fear and the guard turned on the headlights, she paused when she saw Hayden leaning on a car.

“Please step out of the vehicle ma’am.” The guard said and she did, she slowly walked to Hayden and the guard drove away immediately.

“Hey,” Hayden called.

“Hi.” He replied and he sighed.

“Come on.” He said and stretched his hand towards her.

“What? Where are we going? It's should be past midnight by now.”

“It's dark already so just shut up and hold my hand.” He replied and she scoffed before holding his hand, Hayden led the way and after a minute of walking, he stopped and she looked around, she could barely see a thing and she sighed before turning to Hayden.

“Hayden, what are we doing here?” She asked.

“Just a second Ashley.” He muttered and the lights suddenly came on, Ashley opened her mouth in shock as she stared at the park, the lights made it so beautiful she couldn't stop staring at it.

“Oh my God.” She gasped as tears rushed to her eyes, she suddenly hugged Hayden and he paused for a minute as he felt so different, he hasn't felt that way in over a thousand years.

“Oh my God, Hayden.” She whimpered and hugged him tightly.

“Get off me.” Hayden said and she didn't let go of him.

She sniffed and Hayden rolled his eyes when he realized she was crying.

“Don't make things weird by crying.” He muttered and she giggled before pulling away from him, she wiped her tears and breathed out.

“I thought you weren't going to do this with me, I thought you just made the promise and didn't want to fulfill it.”

“Trust me, I didn't.”

“Oh, so what made you change your mind?”

“Let’s not talk about that, don't you want to go on all these rides?”

“I do.” She replied and clapped her hands.

“Great, now let's go.” He said and walked ahead of her, Ashley giggled like a baby and trailed behind him, they took a lot of rides and all Ashley did was yell happily while all Hayden did was watch her.

After going on all the rides in the park, Ashley decided they enter the Casino to play some games.

Ashley played a lot of games and Hayden watched her as she did.

“Can we go now?” Hayden asked tiredly because he couldn't find anything fun in the park.

“No, just one more game.” She giggled and held his hand, again, Hayden felt that feeling but he ignored it. She pulled him to a machine and Hayden stared at it.

“What is this?” He asked as she let go of his hand.

“It is called a Fun Gem Claw.” She replied and he rolled his eyes.

“That is a stupid name for a stupid game.”

“It’s not stupid, you need a quarter (coin), put it into a machine then you will move this claw to grab a teddy and my aim is that bear, it is so cute and I want it so let me show you how it's done.” She explained with a smile and picked a quarter (coin) from her bag and put it in the machine. Hayden watched her as she moved the claw around and tried picking the bear but she ended up picking a unicorn.

“Fuck.” She muttered as she picked the unicorn.

“I don't want a Unicorn, I want a bear but it is so hard.” She whined and Hayden scoffed.

“Oh please, don't be so dramatic. There is nothing hard about it.”

“Of course there is.”

“No.”

“Okay, do you want to try?”

“I don't play dumb games.”

“I know you don't but just try to prove me wrong.”

“Okay, do you have another quarter (coin)?”

“Yes.” She replied and handed it to him.

“You want the bear right?” He asked and she nodded with a smile.

“Okay.” He muttered and placed the quarter in it, he controlled the claw and it grabbed the bear but it fell back when he was about to bring it out fully.

“Told you it was hard.”

“I just wasn't prepared.” He replied and she shrugged.

He tried it again but he still couldn't get it out.

“I have one more coin here.” Ashley said and he hurriedly collected the coin from her, he put it in the machine and tried grabbing the bear but he ended up picking something else.

“I told you it was difficult, let's just go home.”

“No, it’s not, I am not going anywhere until I get that bear out.”

“I thought you said you want to go home.”

“I changed my mind.” He replied and brought out some dollar bills, he changed everything to a bucket of coins in the casino and Ashley stared at him surprised.

“Hayden, what the hell is wrong with you? You just changed all that to coins?”

“Yes.” He replied and took off his jacket and rolled his sleeves.

“We have to take this so seriously Ashley, we are going nowhere till I get this bear.”
