A Mistake

“I am not going anywhere till you tell me when you are leaving.” Hayden said and she sighed. She wiped her tears and glared at him. Hayden sat up and she turned away from him.

“I seriously don't get why you are upset.”

“I just want you to leave.” She said and he rolled his eyes, he noticed her meal was still on the table and he turned to her.

“You didn't eat your food?” He asked and she ignored him.

“Ashley.”

“Just go, Hayden!” She yelled.

“Why didn't you eat your food?” He asked and walked to the table.

“Don't act like you care, it's none of your business.”

“Of course, I don't care.” He replied and she sighed.

“See? Get out.”

“Why didn't you eat?” He asked and she glared at him.

“Leave me alone Hayden.”

“It is bad not to eat.” He muttered and carried the tray, he placed it on her bed and sat beside her.

“What are you doing?” She asked as he took a spoonful and stretched it to her mouth.

“Open up.” He ordered and she glared at him before opening her mouth. He fed her and watched her as she chewed up the food.

He continued feeding her till she was filled and he stretched the glass of juice to her, she gulped it and returned the glass to him. He dropped the tray on the table and sat beside her again.

“So, why didn't you eat?” He asked.

“Nothing.”

“Hmm, why do I have a feeling you were waiting for me to show you, and when I didn't, you decided not to eat and cry yourself to sleep.” He said and she bit her lip as she thought of a quick lie.

“I just wasn't feeling okay.” She muttered and played with her fingers.

“Okay, I will be expecting you downstairs tomorrow so we can continue your dumb list, good night Ashley.” He said and stood up.

“Night Hayden.” She replied with a smile and he nodded before walking out. She giggled and lay on her bed, all she kept thinking about was how he fed her and how nice he smelled.

Ashley slept happily that night and couldn't wait for dawn to arrive so they could continue the things on her list.

*********

It was finally dawn and Ashley got ready for the day in a delighted mood, she walked out of her room humming her favorite song. She got to the dining and smiled happily.

“Morning Lucas!” She called with a smile and the old man smiled back.

“Morning ma’am.” He replied and she sat for breakfast. She kept smiling as she ate her breakfast, all she kept thinking about was Hayden.

Hayden walked into the dining and Ashley smiled happily.

“Good morning Hayden.” She greeted and Hayden stared at her.

“That is a weird smile.” He muttered and sat opposite her, Ashley giggled and stood up, and he stared at her as she walked to him and sat beside him.

“Okay, it's starting to get more weird, even for you.” He said and she giggled again.

“Okay, is this about me agreeing to do things on your list?” He asked and she nodded happily.

“Okay, don't get too weird about this.” He said and she giggled.

“And I lost my all appetite.” He sighed and she laughed.

Ashley ate her food happily and he watched her.

“Aren't you going to eat?” She asked.

“I lost my appetite.”

“Suit yourself.” She giggled and she turned to a maid.

“Can you help me check around for a pinky book? I can't really recall where I dropped it.”

“Okay, ma’am.” The maid replied and walked away.

“If the list is so important to you, you wouldn't lose it.”

“I didn't lose it, I just can't recall where I dropped it.”

“Same thing.” He replied and she shrugged.

The maid walked back to her with the book and she smiled happily.

“Thank you.”

She opened the book and smiled seeing the next thing on it.

“So tell me, what punishment am I going through again today?”

“You are going to take me to a park but it's going to be at night, just both of us, no one else in the environment.”

“Oh, you want us to break in?”

“We broke into a museum, this one shouldn't be a big deal.”

“Okay, so what do I have to do now?”

“Oh, nothing.” She replied and he stood up.

“I have somewhere to go.”

“Wait, what about the park?”

“You said it's in the night.”

“I know but when you go out, you always come back late.”

“I won't.”

“Promise me, Hayden, I am really looking forward to this and I don't want to be disappointed.”

“You won't.”

“Promise?”

“Yeah.” He muttered and walked away.

Hayden walked up the stairs and head towards his room, he entered and paused when he felt a presence behind him.

“Really Bryan? Do you have to be everywhere?” He asked and Bryan appeared behind him.

“You are not going to disappoint her right?” Bryan asked and stood in front of him.

“I have better things to do than attend a dumb park.”

“You promised her.”

“I didn't.”

“You are going with her and you must not be late.”

“You can't get me to do what I don't want.” Hayden scoffed as he dressed up in one of his tuxedos.

“Go with her.”

“Bryan, I am over a thousand years old and you want me to attend a park? I am not a kid.”

“Go with her, Hayden.”

“Is it really necessary I do things she wants? She is fucking useless Bryan, you of all people should know that, she is a useless mortal that I can't do anything with, she is also so annoying and giggles at everything, how can that kind of a person help me?”

“She is the one Hayden, I can feel it.”

“I don't care, I don't need her or anyone else, you are always wrong.”

“I am not this time.”

“You said the same thing when I was with Pasiphaë.”

“Pasiphaë was a mistake.”

“Same as Ashley.”

“Whatever. Come on, just go with her.” Bryan said and Hayden adjusted his collar.

“Get her out of my house or I will use her as my next blood meal.” He said and walked out of the room.
