Elena’s POV

I couldn’t stop the tears that were streaming down my face. I held my knees up to my chest as I sobbed, goosebumps on my skin because of the cold. The dungeons were this cold because they were below the palace.

No one even bothered to get me a blanket or anything I could use to cover myself up. But then Leila would never do such a thing because she hated me, to take my mate away from me and still torture me.

And my rejected mate, he hated me now, so I knew he wouldn’t do such. The guards and maids all hate me so they don’t care about me or would even want to help me.

I jotted and gasped in fear at every little sound that echoed through the dungeons. I thought the guards were coming to take me to the compound and have me flogged.
