Chapter 56: A desire

Kahlan pov

I woke up with a sense of doom. My heart raced as I tried to concentrate on something.

For a moment, I felt peaceful. I wasn't cold and the feeling I was currently having was like heaven.

I dragged my breath and looked around me. I'm in a room! And I'm on the bed. How did I get here? I racked my head for answers but it felt blank.

I stared down at myself, at the blankets covering my cover. I pulled it away and discovered I was naked. There was not a form of clothing on me.

And that was when it hit in quickly. My hair stood still as I remembered the sex I had with Eric before I passed out. And well, the reason why I actually passed out.

My gaze searched around for the mirror. I stood up and rushed inside the bathroom. I was still naked but that was the least of my concern.

I found the mirror but I was suddenly scared of checking myself out. I let out a sigh of relief before I walked closer and bent my head slightly to look at my neck. Then I saw it! I've been marked!
