The Beta of the Diamonds Claw Pack walked briskly through the winding halls of the pack house. His steps were confident and purposeful as they marched to fulfil the instruction given to him by the Alpha.
As the beta, it was his duty to ensure that the alpha's orders were executed smoothly and without delay, even though it might involve pissing off the most important and most powerful woman in the pack. The Luna. Today, the Alpha had instructed him to summon his wife, Luna Katelyn to see him. The Beta approached the Luna's door and braced himself for the drama he knew was waiting for him behind the door. He knocked firmly, and as expected, the door was opened by an auburn-haired maid with a stern expression. "Alpha has summoned the Luna to his rooms." He announced to the Luna's maid. "The Luna is unavailable," she said and her voice carried a note of finality in it. Thankfully, the Beta was already prepared for when this happened. The Beta crossed his arms, unfazed. "I am under strict instructions to make sure the Luna comes with me." He revealed but the maid just hissed and tried to shut the door in his face. The Beta's hand shot out to hold the closing door open. "Step aside woman," he commanded. When the maid hesitated, he shoved past her with ease, determined to fulfil his mission. The maid stumbled back with a shout, "Hey! Stop! You can't come in here!" she yelled but never tried to lay a finger on him. She knew better than to challenge a beta wolf. The Beta entered the room to find Luna Katelyn lounging comfortably on an oversized armchair, deeply engrossed in a novel. The afternoon sun streamed through the windows, illuminating her silver curls and highlighting the vivid cover of the book in her hands. She looked up with a start then her eyes narrowed into dangerous slits when she realized who had interrupted her. "How dare you barge into the Luna's room like this?!" she demanded, swiftly rising to her feet with fury. "Have you lost your senses, Beta? I could have your head for this sheer disrespect!" Tina, her maid ran behind him and apologized, bowing to her Luna. "I-I'm sorry Luna, it's my fault. I tried to stop him but he wouldn't listen." Katelyn glared at her maid. "What a useless numbskull! I should have both of you hanged for this!" She sneered and the maid cowered in fear. But the Beta remained unfazed. He had already grown accustomed to her sharp temper and her sharper threats over the years. But the one who sent him was greater and more terrifying than she was so he was not going to turn back now. "The Alpha has summoned you, Luna. It's important." Katelyn snorted, dismissing him with a wave of her hand. "You can tell him I'm busy," she said coolly, settling back into her chair. She picked up her book again, clearly intending to ignore his presence. The Beta sighed inwardly. He respected his Luna, but the Alpha permitted him to use any means necessary to bring her to him. With a quick motion, the Beta snatched the book from her hands, holding it high above his head where she couldn't reach it. "Apologies Luna, but you need to see him. Now." Katelyn's eyes flashed with anger. She couldn't believe the sheer audacity of this man. Did he really want to test her? Unfortunately for the Luna, she was shorter than the Beta, and no matter how she stretched, she couldn't retrieve the book. She considered using her werewolf strength but quickly dismissed the idea as she could accidentally rip her favourite dress, and she didn't want that. "Stop that! I order you to give me back my book," she demanded, with a mixture of authority and anger. "Not until you agree to follow me to see the Alpha," he replied calmly, still holding the book high up. With a huff, Katelyn turned and snatched another book from the nearby table. If he wanted that book, he could keep it. She wasn't about to be manipulated so easily. But to her shock and horror, Beta immediately snatched that one as well. He held both books up in the air as the Luna shot him a thunderous glare that could have decimated a village. "I can do this all day, Luna," he said with a hint of amusement in his eyes. "It's your choice." Realizing she had no choice, Katelyn growled in frustration. "Fine, I'll go," she relented, glancing longingly at her captured book. The Beta handed it back with a satisfied nod, and they left the room together. The walk to Alpha Killian's office was quiet, save for the almost stomping of the Luna's feet on the carpeted floor. It was obvious that Katelyn's mood was furious. When they finally entered the office, Alpha Killian looked up from his desk and sighed in relief. His expression softened at the sight of his wife. "Thank you, Beta," he said, dismissing the beta with a nod. Once the door was closed, Alpha Killian approached Katelyn, trying to bridge the gap between them. "Katelyn, my love," he began in a gentle and coaxing tone, "I know you're upset, but please give me a chance to explain." Katelyn folded her arms and turned away from him, pouting like a child who had been denied her favourite treat. "I don't want to hear it," she said stubbornly, her voice edged with the betrayal she felt. "You couldn't even wait another month to see if I'd get pregnant first, and you just went ahead to bring in a breeder. An ugly one at that!" Killian sighed, stepping closer. He gently turned her to face him. "Darling, I never actually planned to bring a breeder into our home. I was just visiting someone, when I stumbled upon the poor girl being sold at an auction by accident. I just wanted to help her." Katelyn raised an eyebrow, disbelief written all over her face. "You just happened to accidentally see her at an auction? And somehow, that led to you wanting to save her and bring her back as your breeder? How very convenient!" She snorted. Alpha Killian sighed. "I know how it sounds, but it's true. I saw Bellatrix being auctioned, and I felt an overwhelming urge to rescue her. She looked so lost and vulnerable." Katelyn barked a laugh and shook her head. "Do you really expect me to believe that? Do I look like one of those senseless numbskulls? It sounds like a lame excuse to me. Just admit it, Killian, you don't love me anymore. You're trying to replace me with her." Her voice cracked on the last words, and tears began to fall from her eyes. Alpha Killian's heart clenched at the sight of his wife in distress. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a tight hug. "Katelyn, you know that that's not true. I love you more than anything. Please, believe me." He held her close, murmuring soft reassurances until she began to relax against him. Katelyn sniffed, wiping her eyes, but the tension between them had eased slightly. Killian gently lifted her chin, looking into her eyes with a tender smile. "I know I can be a lot sometimes, but I would never do anything to hurt you intentionally," he said softly. Katelyn looked at him and smiled. She could never stay angry with him for long, especially not when he looked so handsome and sincere. "Fine," she mumbled, finally meeting his gaze. "I'll believe you, for now." Killian chuckled softly, brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "Thank you, my love," he said, leaning down to press a gentle kiss to her forehead. Katelyn unfolded her arms, finally allowing herself to relax completely. Killian's fingers traced soothing patterns on her back, and she melted into his touch, her earlier anger vanishing entirely. She tilted her head up to capture his lips with hers, and he groaned when he tasted her. The kiss deepened, and Katelyn's arms soon wound around his neck, pulling him closer, and Killian responded in kind, his hands roaming gently over her back. Katelyn sighed into the kiss and pressed her body against her husband, letting him know that she wanted him and she wanted him now. Alpha Killian would never refuse such an offer, so he swiftly lifted her and took her into his bedroom, where he laid her down and proceeded to slowly strip off her clothes. He peppered sweet kisses on her skin along the way. Katelyn couldn't take the teasing anymore, so she began to caress and touch him in places she knew would turn him on. Her plan worked and soon, he was nude and pushing into her ardently with the bed creaking as if in complaint regarding their lewd act. Their moans filled the air as they passionately rocked against each other, touching and kissing until they reached the peak of their pleasure and climaxed together. Later, as they lay entwined in each other's arms, Katelyn let out a contented sigh. "I suppose I'll have to get used to your noble impulses," she teased softly, tracing circles on Killian's chest. Killian chuckled and peppered kisses along her cheek and neck. "And I'll have to remember not to make decisions without consulting my wise Luna," he replied before pulling her closer. Katelyn smiled, feeling more at ease than she had in days. She felt assured that her Alpha would always choose her above anyone else, no matter what. The man who was singled out was terrified; he didn't think this king's eyes were this sharp. And there were several others who also didn't applaud, even amongst the special guests. Why was he the only one singled out?His legs were buckling as he made his way to Killian."Don't be afraid. I won't kill you for your offence," Killian smiled, but the latter really couldn’t be reassured.Even though Killian patted his shoulder gently for emphasis, the man still shuddered as several chills rushed down his spine all at once. He dropped to his knees, "F-forgive me, your majesty. I'm sorry," he beseeched on all fours, his gaze to the floor."Henley," Killian called, and one of the duo who had been kicked down the platform earlier stepped forward."Yes, your majesty?""Take this bundle of nerves outside. Let him have a bit of 'fresh air',""Aye, Alpha," with that, the blond stepped forward and picked the brunet by the back of his shirt, taking him outside."Alright, I know 99% of you love to
“Such an occasion, and I wasn't invited. Now, that’s quite unfair, don’t you think, Anslan?” a masculine voice sounded in the hall, breaking the moment of silence. Many wondered who it was that dared to call Moon Flame's King's name without attaching first his title. It was more like this person saw Alpha Anslan as a small fry. How audacious! The people didn't have to wait long in puzzlement; the voice's owner emerged in the venue nanoseconds later. His belated entry marked a sudden shift in the atmosphere, his presence seemed to eclipse everything else.It was a face familiar to all the royals and nobles here— Alpha Killian.Quite a number of individuals parted their lips and broadened their eyes in disbelief. What was he doing here? How come none of the Moon Flame’s guards came in to report his arrival? Or did this man knock them out? Also, he was attired even better than Anslan or any other special guest here.Draping over his shoulders was a floor-trailing, thick black cloa
Ceremony Hall,Moon Flame Pack.8:14 pm. The venue— a prodigious, furnished hall with high ceilings, which featured intricate carvings. Several elegant chandeliers were placed throughout the venue, complemented by festive wall lights that brightened the place. On the east and west wings of the hall were two platforms—one on each side, and both had three steps, which were not that high. Situated atop the platforms were several exquisite high-back chairs fit for prominent entities. Each chair had aureate footstools and a crescent moon-shaped side table. These chairs would be occupied by the guest royalty or their representatives (likely a Beta or Alpha prince) who'd be gracing this event.15 minutes later. The once-empty hall was now full of pack members who chatted energetically with each other. Some were even heatedly guessing the colour choice of their Luna-to-be's outfit.“I bet she’d wear blue. It matches her eyes,” “I disagree with that. She’ll wear a rainbow dress,” a plump br
Moon Flame pack. Beta’s residence. 6:03 pm..."Carissa, which do you think would suit me better? I'm still so lost," Helene asked her maid who'd just entered the room. The latter had her hands clasped in front of her, a small smile on her face. "Whatever you put on suits you, mistress." She replied meekly."Of course, I know that. But help me make a choice," Helene excitedly urged, her eyes filled with anticipation."Alright, mistress. As you desire," Carrissa said, walking towards the bed, on which lay two gorgeous gowns. One was light blue, with a flare skirt that barely touched her knees. The other was of a silver colour, studded with diamonds and would fall slightly past her ankles. Both of them had a long lace train, with that of the silver one being longer. Nonetheless, neither of them outshone the other, and without being told, they’d come with a hefty price tag. The Alpha had ordered someone to deliver these to her home in a sizable box this evening. It's not like she ha
"I instructed you to use 'Sir' when it’s just the two of us," Killian reminded as he placed the headphones around his neck. “Don’t let me correct you on that again,” he warned. She swallowed hard, "Noted, sir. And…s-sorry, sir. I…""Why are you faltering?" his brows were creased."Well, this... You see," she didn't know how she would explain. "I ask you again, Bellatrix. What did you call me?"“I called you ‘Sir,’”He scoffed at her response. “Trying to play smart?”The omega pursed her lips, averting her gaze to the ground, wondering if it could be so merciful to swallow her. She feared he would be angry if she repeated those three words. "Cat got your tongue?" He asked her, but she didn't dare to look at him. "Weren't you courageous before? How come that boldness has deflated?"Bellatrix's knees gave at this point. However, mustering whatever courage she could summon, she raised her head to gaze at him. "Sir, I'm sorry," She put her palms together. “Please, forgive me,”"What are
“Sure, you can rest all you want. Whenever you feel fully recovered, even if it’s in the evening, that’s when we’ll start.”She wanted to glare at him, but chose to hold back. “Can I… rest for ten minutes?”“Starting when?” he asked, while looking at his watch. “Now…?” If possible, she wanted to say after 2 hours. But she didn’t dare to. “After 20 minutes, please, sir,”“So you want the ten-minute countdown to start after 20 minutes of doing nothing?” he asked with a raised brow. That would equal 30 minutes of rest. It was better than nothing. But a thought came to her.“Can I… increase it?” she asked in an uncertain tone.“Sure. But bring me the bag first,” her mate instructed. She sighed defeatedly and shuffled towards him, barely able to withstand the bag’s weight. After dropping it on the ground upright and close to his feet, she made a pivot, wanting to head back to the opposite tree. She’d barely taken three steps when he stopped her.A troubling unease started to build up ins
5 days later. Bellatrix's maid was pulling her mistress towards the Alpha's office. It was barely 6 a.m., the latter was still sleepy, and her feet still felt sore. "I still want to sleep some more, let go of me," she complained while trying to head back the way they'd come. That was a fruitless effort, she was no match for Xoey."I know, my lady, but you'll be fine," the maid reassured. The breeder harrumphed, "You keep saying that, but at the end of the day, I can barely lift my feet. I also have to hold back all day from cursing at the Alpha; he does everything to frustrate me. Yesterday, he threw fruits at me while I was close to the top of the short tree he chose for me. I fell, but he said it’s my fault for falling."“Calm down, my lady. I’m sure he had a pretty good reason for that,” Xoey softly said, but Bellatrix scoffed.“What reason other than to bully me? He just likes seeing me looking more miserable than a cat in the rain.”“It’s okay,” Xoey soothed, but her mistress
As he walked, pack members drew notice. And many were stunned. Just the first day of training, and the breeder had successfully gotten the Alpha to carry her like this? They didn't dare form a crowd to have heated discussions, though.Bellatrix felt embarrassed, so she kept her gaze on his chest. At least it looked appetizing. She could feel her cheeks getting heated."Is it sturdy enough?" Came the Alpha's voice."Yes,"It's not like she could successfully lie about it."Then, it's time for a ride," he smirked, though she didn't see that; some pack members did. Before long, Killian was already sprinting towards the woods. The guards at the pack's entrance gate did not waste time opening the gates for him. They went down on one knee and bowed with their right hands across their chest. "Greetings, Your Majesty," they yelled in concert.Killian paused after he'd run past the gate. "Rise," he told them in an authoritative tone."Thank you, Alpha," they chorused again and uniformly rose,
Bellatrix steeled herself and answered, “Good day, sir. The Alpha is busy right now. Please call back in a thousand days,”On the other end, Anslan was stunned. How come a woman was the one who answered Alpha Killian’s phone? And did he find her voice sounding vaguely familiar? What did she mean by saying he had to call back the line in almost 3 years?“Miss, who are you?”“That’s none of your business, sir. Until the set time, please don’t bother the Alpha, unless, of course, you’re tired of living.”“You… how dare…”Bellatrix cut him off, “Have a horrible day, sir.” With that, she ended the call and placed the phone on the desk. Then she turned to face Anslan, eyes reddened, “Sir, I’ve handled the call. Is it to your satisfaction?”The Alpha nodded, “Yeah, you did well.”“I’ll be taking my leave then. Please excuse me,” Without waiting for her mate’s words, she pivoted on her heel and made her exit from the office.Behind her was her puzzled mate. He wondered what made her act that
