**POV Eleanor**

“Be careful not to wake Miss Parker!” I heard the maids whispering outside the room.

“But it’s almost nine in the morning, and she hasn’t woken up for breakfast. The medicine has been ready since six, and the Alpha wants her to drink it as soon as possible!” Emaline's harsh voice echoed through the door.

“We can’t wake her. I heard the guards saying she didn’t sleep at all, and there were some noises in the room, like she was moaning in pain...” the maid tried to argue, but Emaline didn’t seem to care. She pushed the door open and entered.

I shifted slightly in bed, pretending to be deeply asleep. I heard the sound of a bowl being placed on the bedside table, followed by Emaline’s footsteps approaching. I felt her presence beside the bed before she began shaking me roughly.

“Wake up, Eleanor! It’s almost ten o'clock!” she complained angrily, pulling my blanket away.
