Chapter 22: Tales Of Lana

I folded my hands, ready for the attack, but remembered what Master Yung always tells us: ‘Wait for the attack before you strike.’ I closed my eyes, and my eyes became white. Cool water spread out of both my hands, forming into ice instantly. I iced the demon within seconds, thinking it was over, but the demon laughed, breaking free from my ice trap.

"Is that all you got?" he laughed mockingly, and before I could do anything further, he held my neck, causing me to gasp for breath.

"Let her go," a familiar voice said.

It was Lex, he had come to rescue me. He shoved his sword, slashing the demon into two and cutting off its head, breaking me free.

"Thanks," I mumbled.

"Let's run, there are more of them," he said, holding my hand and leading me to the exit of the forest. We kept running for what felt like hours, going through cycles.

"You sure this will get us out of here?" I said, breathing heavily. He nodded.
