Chapter 23: Run Or Die

I lay in bed, unable to sleep, with Lana and the other thoughts from my past swirling through my mind. It occurred to me that she couldn’t be me, as she was over 100 years old, and I couldn't breathe underwater. The night dragged on, and I eventually moved to Camila’s room for comfort.

"I wish there was a way to forget Nixon and June's death," Camila said, looking me in the eyes.

"I miss them," I replied, my lips turning down.

"We must avenge their death," I added.

"I will make sure to tear Lucifer apart," Camila said, her tone resolute. I nodded in agreement.

"We need to get some sleep," I replied, closing my eyes and quickly drifting off.

I woke up to a loud buzzing noise and opened my eyes slowly, trying to turn off the alarm.

"Come on, Destiny, we don't want to be late," said Camila. I nodded, getting out of bed with her.

"I don't think I'm ready to fight Beelzebub," she said, voicing my own thoughts.

"Me neither."

"Maybe the Master might give us some time to train more," I sugges
