"I'm David Lewis, the creative director and VP of JD Legacy International."

OMG! He's one of the founders of JDLI! I can't believe that I will meet him this early, not to mention he will be interviewing me.

The interview finally begin. He asked me the usual questions in an interview which I answered with confidence.

"As I have been browsing your CVs, I have learned that your experience is more on marketing and sales. Though, I also saw your portfolio with your interior design projects. You have a stable position in your previous company, I'm curious as to why you decided to go here and apply for this position." He said in a formal but calming tone.

I heaved a heavy sigh before I start to answer me. I can't mess this up. This is what I've been waiting for my whole life.

"As stated in my educational background, I have a degree in interior design. But my parents wanted me to work in our company." I said as I started my speech.

"Oh! Now that explains why you have the same name and the company." He butted in.

Zobel group of companies, my father's family business is widely known in the Philippines. ZGC owns the biggest and most high-end malls and real estate in the Philippines.

Luckily, I have two older brothers who will inherit the business. They allow me to pursue my dreams but I need to work first in our company. As per them, the company should be the first to benefit from the skills that I have.

I nodded at him and smile softly. "My love and passion are always on arts and designs. I'm blessed to have two older brothers who will inherit our family business, the reason why my parents never pressure me on whether I want to handle our business or not. Also, my family has always been supportive of my career. But they want me to work first in our company because as per them, it's only fair for our company to be the first one to benefit from the skills and knowledge that I have."

"I totally understand. But why did you decide to apply here? You can pursue your dream in the Philippines, especially with the influence that your family had. It's no brainer that you will be accepted by the top companies in the Philippines." He curiously asked.

"As you had said, my family has great INFLUENCE in the Philippines. That's one of the main reasons why I wanted to fly here to New York and pursue my dream." I said in a formal and respectful tone.

He leaned closer and asked. "You said that is one of the main reasons, may I ask for the other reasons?"

Don't be too close to me please, I might forget to answer because your handsome face is distracting me.

Yelle don't get distracted by this guy's handsome face. Passing this interview is your priority. You can enjoy more of his face when you passed this interview. I said to motivate myself.

"I don't know if you notice that all the furniture that I place was all JDLI's furniture."

He browses my portfolio again to confirm. His eyes widen after confirming what I just said. He looked at me again and smile.

Girls will melt when seeing him smile like that. I continue my speech before I get distracted by him.

"I'm a great fan of your furniture. I was browsing some furniture for my condo when I saw your old website, J Furniture. I instantly fell in love with the design and purchase it right away. Since then, J Furniture or JD Legacy International became my only choice of furniture in all my projects. Also, I fell in love more with JDLI when I read an article about how you guys started the company and made it this big."

"You both came from a wealthy company but you decided to make a name of your own and build your empire or legacy. I also want to be like you someday." I said with great enthusiasm.

"That was touching. We never knew that James and I had that impact on you." He said.

I almost rolled my eyes upon hearing the name James. I almost forgot that the J in JD stands for James.

"Too bad that James wasn't here. He was the owner of J Furniture before we decided to create JDLI. He was the one who designed and created the furniture that you fell in love with. He now handling our business in Asia. But he will be here in a month or two. You'll meet him by that time then." He said.

My eyes widen. "Does this mean that I got the job?" I asked to confirm.

He smiled and nodded. "Welcome to JDLI, Ms. Yelle!"

He went to me and offer his which I gladly accept.

"Congratulations sweetie! I know you will get the job!" It was my mom on a video call.

I facetime them to tell them the good news as soon as I went home.

"Thanks, Mom."

"I wish we were there to celebrate with you." My mom said.

My heart melted from hearing those sincere words from my mom. I'm blessed to have a supportive family. They never questioned me when I decided to take an Interior Design course. They never pressure me to follow their path.

"It's okay Mom. Your support was more than enough." I told them sincerely.

"But it's not good enough for me." It was my dad.

My brow creased and just waited for him to continue his speech.

"You still have the black card with you right?"

I nodded. I never had any plan on returning it because I went here for my career and not to live an independent life. I mean why would I refuse the privileged life that I have now?

"Good. Now go out and shop till your heart's content." Dad said proudly.

My eyes widen. "No limit?"

"No limit."

I screamed in excitement! "Didn't I tell you that I got the best parents in the world?"

"I know sweetie. We love you!"

"I love you too Mom and Dad! You're the best as always."

And since I'm an obedient daughter, I went to my favorite designer brands to buy some outfits for work good for a month. I'm not a fan of repeating outfits. Most of my clothes were only worn once or twice.

When I was in the Philippines, Mara convince me to create an I*******m account to sell my old clothes. I followed her because she always nags me about my shopping habits.

Speaking of Mara, I wanted to call them last night to share to her the good news but I'm sure that they were already asleep at that time.

Mara and her husband go to work at 9 am, so I decided to call them at 7:30 am, Philippine time. I'm sure they are about to have their breakfast now.

"I knew it! Congrats Yelle! I'm so proud of you." Mara said as I share to them the good news.

"Congrats Ninang!" Tanya, my lovely goddaughter said while giggling.

Andrew also congratulates me. I smiled at him and continue to share with them how happy I am and what my parents gave me as a congratulatory gift for getting the job.

"Are also planning to continue your business there in the US?" Mara suddenly asked.

I was confused by what she just said. "What do you mean business?"

"Your page on I*******m where you sell your old clothes."

I rolled my eyes. "What? Of course not! I will be busy with my job here. That will consume a lot of my time. It's not like in the Philippines where I can designate the job to my assistant. I don't have an assistant here anymore."

My assistant was a bit sad when she heard the news that I will be moving here to the US. She was getting a 30% incentive from all the sold clothes.

"What will you do with your clothes there?" Mara asked.

I'm starting to get annoyed because she just kill the moment.

"I don't know yet. Maybe keeping them in my walk-in closet?" I said then rolled my eyes.

Mara was about to say something when Tanya called someone I don't want to see.

"Uncle James, come here and congratulate ninang. She got the job!"
