Annoying Asher

Chapter 5

Ashley Gustavo POV

I paced restlessly in the room, biting my finger. My heart was yet to settle even though it had been hours. I was scared of going out of the room for fear of running into Ace even though the room seemed to be suffocating me. Did I make a wrong decision? I stopped and asked myself for the umpteenth time, and since I couldn't come up with a befitting answer, I slumped on the bed and sank my fingers into my hair.

My heart skipped a beat when the bathroom door opened, and my jaw dropped when I saw Asher cladded in a white towel just below his waist. He was manly built with those sexy biceps and toned abs. They made my breath hitched as I admired them.

"You look like you are going to devour me with those sexy eyes," His deep voice disrupted me, and I quickly turned my face away embarrassingly.

"Uhm... I'll be in the living room," I quickly stood up and turned to leave.

"You can't keep avoiding me. I'm going to be your husband soon, and if you keep shying away like this, how are you going to fulfill our deal?" I stopped on my track then clenched my fingers tightly and breathed in and out.

"You can't make it too obvious to everyone that we are not couples for real. I'm sure you don't want to mess things up," He spoke again, and I bit into my lip and sighed.

"Hmm," I managed to nod my head.

"I contacted my lawyer. The divorce papers will be ready by the end of the week. While he is working on it, let's go to the registry for our marriage tomorrow," I turned swiftly to face him, but turned out that he wasn't even looking in my direction.

"Ma...marriage?" I stuttered, and he looked at me, one of his eyebrows raised.

"Hmm. We agreed we were going to get married. Have you forgotten?" He asked me, and I bit my lip again.

"Uhm... Don't you think that's going to be too fast? I mean, we can still give it some time, and you know..."

"Are you thinking of going back to that jerk?" He scoffed as he turned fully to face me, his eyes laced with fury which left me confused for a moment. I mean, there was no reason to be mad at me, right? I was just making a suggestion.

"No, I'm not... I'm just..."

"Then there is no reason to wait any longer," He cuts me off then walked over to his closet and threw the doors open.

"For how long are we going to be married?" I asked after a long silence, and he paused with his hand on one of the tons of clothes in his closet.

"I don't know. I've not decided that yet. Well, it depends on you..." He paused, then turned to face me.

"Are you willing to teach him a lifetime lesson or just for a short time and go back to him again, hmm?" He asked as he stared into my eyes, and I swallowed nothing.

"I love him," I whispered and dropped my head, and he scoffed.

"I wonder what your definition of love is. How can you still love someone that fucked your sister? I bet that wasn't the first time," He uttered as he picked out some clothes from his closet and threw them on the bed.

"You don't have to remind me," I mumbled and turned my face away as the horrible memory came lurking around my mind yet again.

'I bet my sister is not as sweet as I am' I huffed and swallowed nothing as my eyes glistened with tears. How could my sister do that to me?

"I'm not reminding you..." He paused then picked out his white singlet and turned to face me.

"I'm just trying to let you know that he'll do it over and over again. Not that I care if you want to go back to him, anyway," He shrugged, and I sighed.

"Whatever!" I stomped my leg on the ground and turned to leave when he spoke up.

"I'll be away for tonight. Call me if anything happens here," I turned to find him wearing his trousers.

"Hu...huh? You can't leave me all alone here and..."

"Are you scared you might end up in bed with my brother?" He smirked at me, and I scoffed. Truthfully, I was scared of seeing Ace around, so I needed him to be here with me at least.

"Says who?" I huffed.

"Says your face..." He replied to me as he buttoned his shirt, and I scoffed.

"Anyway, I have something to take care of out there and will be back tomorrow morning. As I said, call me if you need anything,"

"Whatever!" I rolled my eyes and strode out of the room. I closed the door behind me.

My phone beeped as soon as I walked inside the living room, and I checked to see that it was a text from Ace.

'We need to talk. Meet me at the rooftop' My heart skipped when I read through the text, and I held my phone firmly like I was protecting it from falling off my hand. Should I go and see him? I asked myself.

"You are not completely a fool, are you? He has been cheating on you, and now you want to foolishly see him?" My subconscious mind reminded me, and I sighed. If there was one thing I could never deny, then it was for a fact that I truly love my husband with my whole entirety.

"He asked you to meet him? Are you thinking of it?" I almost jumped out of my skin when I heard Asher's voice behind me, and I turned swiftly but I collided against his rocky chest, sending me back roughly. I thought I was going to hit the ground and hurt my body, but he was fast enough to catch me with just one arm, and my heart fluttered.

For the next few seconds, I stared into his eyes, my heart clearly thumped hard against my chest, and as my eyes traveled down to his sexy lips, I couldn't help but think to myself what it would feel like to kiss those sexy lips even though it was wrong to think.

"You might get me horny if you keep staring at me like that. I'm not a reserved man," He said to me flirtatiously, and my heart fluttered again. He finally helped me on my feet, and I quickly stepped away from him and turned my face away.

"You should go see him if you want to. Don't do something stupid with him and remember that I'm your fiance now. My eyes are on you," He uttered coldly, and with that, he strode out of the house, and I released the breath I'd been holding unknowingly. Will I be able to cope with this?

Barely five minutes after he left, I strode to the door in a bid to go see Ace, but my heart missed a beat when I pulled the door open to leave but found Ace standing with his hand hanging in the air. I guess he was about to knock on the door when I opened it.

"Ace?" I called surprisingly, but what he did next made me freeze on the spot. He pulled me outside then slammed his lips against mine and kissed me roughly...
