A kiss with the devil

CHAPTER FOUR.

Golden Girl's club was blazing. The costume party was scheduled to kick off mid night. Past ten pm, and everywhere was already filled. The strippers taking turns on the pole.

Coco Kaave made grand entrance to the party, with a vibe. Tonight, she came prepared, to whore with whoever that'd make her coochie juicy. She came masked. Costumed as a casket, while Brandy, as the cinderella princess.

Chief Onapuruagu couldn't help but notice the one wearing a casket. He fancied the darkness that surrounded her. It was either her, or, no one else, not even the beautiful Coco Kaave. He cursed under his breath and with one last look at her, he sped to her. He was wearing the joker costume. "Can I steal a moment?" Chief Onapuruagu asked. His mind refused to even entertain the thought of a world without her in it.

"So you're a thief, huh?" Coco brushed against his chin and he could smell the fresh fragrance of her hair mixed with the coppery scent of blood. Evil. Who exactly was she?

"If I told you yes, would you let me steal your heart?"

"Only humans have hearts." Coco snapped.

"Did I meet me a spirit tonight?"

"Spirit? I am a graveyard. The home of spirits."

Chief Onapuruagu couldn't help but laugh, hard. "These words cannot scare me away hunie. I am acquainted with the devil." He needed to discover who was behind the mask.

In a valiant attempt to ignore the disturbing presence of the man beside her. Coco looked at the party stage, and tried to enjoy. As lovely as the scenery was, her mind kept turning to Chief Onapuruagu. Her gaze drifted over to Brandy. Brandy seemed to be having fun, with some man costumed as a reverend. Coco watched her leave with the man and disturbing thoughts filled her mind.

Alcohol easily had effects on Brandy. Coco followed in their direction quickly. She wasn't going to take chances, and let Brandy blow their cover.

***

The door opened.

Coco Kaave stepped into the room.

Anger and shock spurted over the mad inner leap of response to the power of Chief Kaave's presence. Chief Kaave was right there in the room with one of his body guards disguised as the reverend. Coco's heart couldn't stop beating. All of a sudden she started sweating heavily, as she watched her father's body guard unveil Brandy's mask.

Coco knew it was game over. She shut her eyes in fear, and only opened them when she heard her father's body guard say the words.

"She's not the one sir."

Coco opened her eyes immediately, looking at the girl. She wasn't Brandy. She was just a random teenager that prolly came to unwind with her friends. She had mistaken her to be Brandy. But, if she wasn't Brandy, then, where was Brandy?

"Dad what is this?" Coco managed to get a grip over herself and concealed the fear in her.

"Information reached me you came to party in company of a female friend." Chief Kaave didn't blink an eye as he spoke.

"And you thought it was Brandy?" Coco scoffed. "Why will I lie to you about Brandy's whereabouts? Oh I get. Now, I'm a liar? And your precious son, Vill is..."

"Stop talking plenty." Chief Kaave cut her off. "Sorry for the misunderstanding. I give you my word. I'll find Vill and Brandy. Now, if you'll excuse me, enjoy your party."

Coco nodded as Chief Kaave and his body guard left the room. The teenage girl quickly ran from the room in fear. Coco shut the door behind her and laid on the bed. She could bet with her bank account, that her blood pressure was high at the moment.

What would have been her fate if she was caught? This was a sign that the universe was on her side. But where was Brandy, how did she disappear so fast, how come the teenage girl had the same costume with Brandy's? The party rule was strictly, 'one person, one costume'. Golden Girl's club never allowed two people pull up in the same costume.

Coco arrived at the parking lot. She peeped inside her SUV, Brandy was not there. Her inner tension moved up several notches and fed a fast growing wave of angry resentment. Where the hell was Brandy!?

Coco entered the back of the SUV and changed her costume. She carefully cleaned her make up, and changed her perfume. She put on a simple evening gown with sandals. She came down from the SUV and dailed her phone. "You'll see me there in thirty minutes." As Coco set out to leave, Chief Onapuruagu ran his fingers through her mass jet of curly hair.

"I see someone came to the costume party, cloned as the beautiful Coco Kaave, of Dirty South." There was a smile in the tone of Chief Onapuruagu's voice.

"Get off my dick nigga. I don't have time for this." Coco could sense the jealousy in her own eyes. So this was it? He was afterall, a randy he goat that would flirt with anyone with a hole?

Chief Onapuruagu's face lit with pleasure as he drew her closer in his arms, her presence felt familiar. Like the casket girl. Could Coco Kaave be the casket girl? Coco's hands moved so quickly towards his face and unveiled his mask, even before he knew it and could stop her.

"You!" Coco exclaimed. She opened her purse and pointed a gun to Chief Onapuruagu's head. "Back off."

"Easy girl. I didn't come for trouble."

"What do you want?" Coco asked.

"A drink with you." Without a word of warning, Chief Onapuruagu reached for her lips and gently kissed. Then he smiled and softly added, "I'm counting on your feelings, Coco." Suddenly, his hands gently rubbed the goose flesh on her upper arms. Heat flowed from his touch, sending electric tingles through her bloodstream and rendering her bones insubstantial.

"Do you love me?" The words sounded as though they had been scraped from her throat..raw..needful.

"Yes. But not enough to give up Dirty South, for you and your father." He released her and moved to his car. She was so beautiful..yet.. stubborn. How much longer was she going to pretend like she didn't feel the same way he felt about her?

***

Chief Kaave watched Vill eat his breakfast of grilled chicken and salad. He ate hungrily. Vill was in a terrible state. His entire body was badly bruised and swollen.

"Mr.Adams..." Chief Kaave growled. "You dare to lay your fingers on my boy?" He angrily spoke to no one in particular.

Coco entered the dinning room, in her blue nightie. She walked straight to her father. "Dad?"

Chief Kaave pointed towards Vill. "That fool, Mr.Adams.."

"So dad, you're saying Mr.Adams is responsible for their disappearance, not the other way round?"

"Take the boys to his office this morning and send him home. Tell him to say me hi to my father, when he gets there." Chief Kaave walked to Vill and patted his shoulder. "Get well." He turned to Coco. "Increase the search for your friend."

"Yes Dad." Coco said. She looked Vill straight in the eyes, before she left the room.

***

Mr. Adam's face was filled with excitement as Coco Kaave walked inside his office. Coco offered herself a seat.

"Thank you very much for accepting to work with me." Mr. Adams said. "That cunt, he double crossed me, but I know, you won't do me like that."

Coco was silent. Her initial plan was to turn her father and Mr. Adams against Vill. She was certain one of the both of them, will end Vill. She wasn't pleased with the turn of events. And now, Brandy was missing for real.

"So Coco, what next?" Mr. Adams interrupted her thoughts.

"Say me hi to my grandfather." Coco finally said. Before Mr. Adams could ask further questions. Coco pulled the triggers. Head shots. She turned and left his office. Outside Mr. Adam's office, stood three of Chief Kaave's body guards.

"Clear the CCTV footage and retrieve the bullets in his body." Coco ordered and left. She headed to one of her father's vans, and drove off.

***

A nurse was attending to Vill in his bedroom, when Coco knocked and entered.

"Give us a minute." Coco said.

"Yes ma'am." The nurse left.

"Why did you lock us up in that room?" Vill questioned.

"I didn't," Coco began. "Mr. Adams did. Those cookies? I bought them from his factory. He offered to deliver it to me personally. I didn't see harm in it. I thought of it as an innocent gesture and gratitude for sealing a deal with TRENDZ."

"How come you made it to the annual function?" Vill needed more explanation. "How come you gave proper directions when I called from the room that night?"

"Mr. Adams felt betrayed. He said you double crossed him. He alleged, you sent the cops after him. He came to me, to confide in me. He played me his tape of plans." Coco was getting irritated. "And as per me making it to the function, don't you remember? You dropped me off and said you'd be back shortly with Brandy."

Vill winced in pain. "You knew everything was planned by Mr. Adams, yet you told Chief I was responsible for Brandy's disappearance. You knew where I was the whole time but.."

Coco didn't let him finish. "Vill please. Let's not pretend like we don't know how much I hate you. I really do hate you. Do not expect any favors from me or expect me to have your back at anytime. I'd happily watch you die and do nothing about it, even if i could. Yeah. Now run to my dad like a scared little puppy and tell him whatever, I do not care." Coco stormed out of the room.

Vill was silent. Nothing will ever make Chief Kaave turn against his only child. It was useless trying to say anything to him. He just had to swallow, yet, another pill from Coco Kaave.

***

Brandy opened her eyes to see Mrs. Kaave, staring at her. Brandy, still in her cinderella costume was tied to a chair.

"Send my money back." Mrs. Kaave said.

"Yes ma'am. I will. Please let me go already. You've tortured me enough. I promise, I will never bother you again. I'm sorry." Brandy cried and pleaded.

"This is no where close to what I'll do to you if you ever bother me again. Either by threatening or blackmailing me." Mrs. Kaave threw a tiny piece of paper on Brandy. "Send me my money." She turned to some hoodlums, and ordered. "Untie her."
