Liam's POV

Watching Hazel walk away felt like a part of me was leaving. Her heels clicking softly on the marble floor like a fading heartbeat of a love I never stopped mourning. I wanted to stop and plead with her to hear me out, but I couldn't.

She didn't look back!

Four good years, and all I got was her cold, abrasive self. She stared at me like I was a piece of dirt that didn't deserve any attention.

The way she sized me up from head to toe as someone irrelevant – if she hadn't stayed with me for two years showering me with affection, I would have said she knew nothing about me.

She is no longer the Hazel I know!

The way she stared at me with anger burning inside of her, she hated me, and it was a known fact.

Visible even to the blind.

I had left a meeting just to trail after her scent and now I gained nothing other than to see her ravaging gaze filled with hatred.

Deep down I knew I deserved every thing she threw at my face, but now I want nothing more than to win her back. I wond

Liam's POV"It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Peculiar," I said as Hazel's manager flashed me a professional smile. We had to adjourn our meeting due to an unforeseen circumstance, but here we are."Same here, Mr. Brooks," she responded, leaning back in her chair. Tate bowed his head and left the room for us to speak. Peculiar glanced back, watching him leave, and after he'd gone, she turned to face me."So, Mr. Brooks, why did you call for a meeting?" She questioned, and I nodded my head."You see, I need your help, Miss Peculiar," I answered, and she blinked her eyes rapidly before pointing at herself."My help?" She repeated it, and I nodded my head."Yes, only you can pull this through," I said, well apart from another female who might not listen to me, but I didn't tell Peculiar that."Does my help have to do with a certain person named Hazel?" She queried, raising her brows. Her hands were now crossed over her chest in a defensive manner, and I chuckled inwardly."Yes, it does!

Hazel's POVA smile glistened on my face when Ezekiel moved the seat back, acting like the gentleman he was. Once I was seated, he pushed the seat forward and moved over to his seat. A waiter came over before he had the chance to talk to me.I glanced at the menu before taking an order, and he did too, once the waiter had gone, and I took a good look at the scenery. It was a nice restaurant with nice scenery. I could see the world outside from here – the lights and the sky and the people moving and cars and buildings. This was a great view, and I was pleased with it."What do you think about this place?" He asked, bringing me out of my reverie. I nodded my head slowly."It's a nice scenery; I like it," I admitted.A smile flashed across his face as if pleased with my words, "You look beautiful," he complimented. A blush crept on my face as I tucked a strand of hair behind my ears."Thank you, Zeke! You are being so sweet tonight; what's the occasion? Any news to share?" I teased, and

Hazel's POVAnne sat down at the table sorting out some work. She had requested a meeting, and I knew that would happen sooner or later.I wonder what she had to say, was it going to be in my favour or not.Peculiar tried to reassure me that all would be well... but I doubt that.Anne is a strict woman and a goal stricken person. Whatever tries to hinder her progress would be removed without hesitation."I am so sorry for the delay, I needed to finish this," She apologized as she sat in the chair opposite me."It's fine,"I replied, flashing a brief smile at her."Yes. I called you here for a reason. But first, how are you?" Anne had a serious look on, I could not decipher if she was concern or just asking because she wanted to be professional."I am fine," I responded curtly and she nodded her head."Great, I was about to post a public note about the matter, which I would still do but I needed to know if you are fine with it. An upcoming interview is coming and you would have to do th

Lucy'sI hadn't even had a chance to enjoy my victory when Sammy started bombarding my phone with calls. The company he is working for is fixing the lawsuit; everything just turned upside down, and now things are working for Hazel's good. She didn't even make a speech or even throw enough shade."Arrgghhhh!!!" I screamed and pulled my hair. This is so crazy.I need to get high!I need to forget about this and not think for a minute.I hurriedly pulled out a drug from my drawer, ground it up, and sniffed it."Lucy!" Tom called, but I ignored him.I sniffed again, and this time I wasn't in this space anymore. Why doesn't she ever fall without getting back up stronger?I so much hate that wench!"I fucking hate you, Hazel Wills!" I yelled. The word is rolling around me; it's like I'm in a circle. My head feels drowsy, and why does Tom look like he just came out from a joker show?"You are supposed to go for the interview today, Lucy! Why did you take drugs?" He snapped at me, which made

Hazel's POVThe night was still young, but the ache in my heart was growing. Somehow I wish everything would just pause... I had just finished crying, and I couldn't sleep. I decided to go out for a run somewhere in the midst of the woods.Coming out, I saw Kierra asleep in the parlor. I picked up a blanket and covered her body. I wanted to check up on Peculiar, but I had no strength to listen to what she had to say, even if it were words of assurance.I slid a hoodie down my body before getting out of the house. Some miles away there is a path that leads to a forest. Once I had gotten there, I looked around searching for an uncommon scent, and when I was sure the coast was clear. I shifted to my wolf form and started running.I ran for an hour... Though I wished to do more than that, there are some sloppy humans that like to snoop around, and if they get a whiff of a shifter here, they might do damage to the whole werewolf community. We shifters have been living in the city low-key w

Liam's POV I was supposed to meet Peculiar, Hazel's manager, when Tate showed me an article about Hazel. As if that was not enough, the next slide showed how they gathered around her, attacking her with words. My fury knew no bounds as I saw the struggle in her eyes... I banged my hands on the table. Now I realised the reason why Peculiar was late. She had gone to rescue Hazel. I stood up, ready to go to where she was, when Tate stopped me."I do not think this is the right moment for you to step in," he said, and I glared at him. Before I took another step, Dominic strode in, and I rolled my eyes."If you are here to stop me, then I'm sorry to say that won't work," I said harshly while he flashed a smirk my way."I expected you to at least have common sense, Liam! The news is still hot, and now you want to add another problem for her. Do you know what the next article is going to be? Do you want to ruin her image more?" He said it in a calm tone, but then his words were visualised
