“Hey!” one of the inmates snapped her fingers right in front of my face.

I didn’t flinch.

My gaze stayed glued to the memory playing over and over in my head, like a broken monitor.

I remembered it clearly.

When I arrived at the restaurant, I was pressed, so I called a waitress and asked for the restroom. She smiled sweetly and said, “Go straight, then turn left when you see the ‘T’ sign on the door.”

I followed her directions without hesitation, but the moment I stepped inside the supposed toilet, something felt wrong.

The room wasn’t a restroom. It was fully furnished, clean, quiet. Too intentional as it was a huge king-size bedroom.

I thought it was a mistake and turned back, planning to find the restroom myself.

Now I knew better, that woman was paid to mislead me.

A dark chuckle slipped from my lips. That subtle move made the leader angry. The inmate hissed, yanking my hair hard. “You bitch, you think this is funny?”

Instead I chuckled darkly and a slap landed on my face.

My head snapped to the side.

I licked the blood from the corner of my mouth and slowly lifted my gaze to her. My stare alone made her pause.

“Are you done?” I asked calmly, ignoring how battered, bruised, and filthy I already was.

“You dare glare at me?” she screamed, grabbing my hair again and slamming me backward.

My body crashed into the wall.

The other inmates didn’t intervene. They backed away, chewing gum, eating, watching. Even prison had a hierarchy and she was clearly the leader.

“This pretty face thinks she can disrespect me,” she sneered.

I forced myself upright, ignoring the sharp pain slicing through my waist. Something felt cracked. Maybe broken.

“Is that satisfying enough?” I asked.

She burst out laughing, spit flying as she lunged for me again, her hand clamping around my throat.

“You think being here for theft is nothing?” she growled.

Her fist slammed into my stomach. The pain in my tummy felt deadly sufficating, I dropped to my knees, gasping, then her boot connected with my face, sending me spinning into the wall again. My vision blurred, the world even moved.

I tried to stand, but collapsed to the ground, someone finally slammed the red alarm.

DING—DING—DING.

The alarm sirens blared and officers rushed in.

My breathing was ragged, heavy trying to breathe yet I felt no air coming i.

Not yet, I thought. I can’t die yet.

Then...“Go to hell!”

Nicholas’ voice echoed in my head, his eyes bulging with cruel delight.

“Take that bastard child with you!”

I screamed as the ground split open beneath me, the heat dragging me down like hell itself. Fire no it was lava, the Devile as pulling me onto his coven

“NO-!”

I jolted awake, gasping.

The doctor stared at me, frozen, syringe still in his hand. “Hold her down!” he shouted.

A nurse reached for me, but I slapped her hand away.

“Don’t touch me! Are you trying to kill me?” I screamed.

“Anna, are you alright?” the doctor asked cautiously.

********Hours passed.

I lay still, pretending to be unconscious.

“What is a young minor doing in a high-risk cell?” the doctor demanded the prison officer.

“She was brought in for theft.”

“She has multiple injuries! What were you thinking putting her with violent offenders?” the doctor snapped. “This system is disgusting.”

The room feels silent.

“Let her rest,” the doctor ordered. “Her condition is serious.”

The door slammed shut and I moved instantly, but the pain welcomed me, the sharp sting made me gasp, then I reached beneath the stretcher.

Nicholas’ phone, was still there.

That was why I let her beat me, that cell was filled with cameras. I couldn’t use it there, this was the only way to get privacy, get injured.

The phone was locked, I bit my lips and closed my eyes shut, dredging up my past memory.

“5… R… A… 3.”

I muttered and pressed it in, It unlocked instantly

I scrolled, through his messages, transaction.... clearly, he was nothing in his family, just a stepping stone. That was why he used me, took everything. Needed my name, my money, my trust.

Then I saw it.

"She’s easy and naive, she would do, plus Having sex with her would feel good, she looks fragile."

I laughed softly, but my eyes were dead cold.

I moved to his phone-book and I dialed a number, his name popped up.

Alfred Robinson: The legitimate heir of the Robinson family and the brother Nicholas hated. He was smart, about twenty three years old, drop dead gorgeous, plus he was smart....Won many credentials courses, everyone valued him

I typed on the screen and sent a message, I slid the phone back and lay still.

My bail was guaranteed.

****************11:55 PM — PRISON CELL

“Inmate 423. Wake up.” the officer said gently nudging the baton next to my ribs, I opened my eyes slowly.

“You’ve been granted bail.”

I gasped, perfectly acted. “Really? Did they find the real thief?” I asked, but she just stared at her watch!

“Move,” the officer said, I moved and her iwnas being checked, stripped naked luckily it was an al female prison so i was in the same side.

I showered and changed into a short mini dress, then tied the belt around my waist, and walked out.

The blinding sun greeted me first, before my gaze landed on Alfred, leaned against his car, eyes lifting up, as my heels clicked closer.

Shock flickered across his face, then interest. That playboyish interest

“Hi,” I said softly, stretching my hands for a shake but instead he smirked, pulling me into a hug, his hands roaming casually around my back.

I didn’t react, but inside I felt my skin crawl like he was dirt.

“Let’s go.” he siad, but I hesitated. “You won’t force yourself on me, right?”

He stared for a second and laughed. “After bailing you out? Funny.”

“I have to be cautious,” I replied innocently.

His smiled widened "I don't fvck unless the other is willing.* He said yet his eyes bored into mine, his head must be filled with lustful thoughts.

I got in, convinced, but the drive was sickening, almost sufficating, so I gently whined down the window for fresh air.

I passed as a thought seeped in, “Brother Alfred,” I said softly. “I want an internship at your company.”

He scoffed. “You expect me to hire a thief?”

My gaze dropped, and I turned to stare at him, “I was framed,” I said quietly. “I’ll prove it.”

He didn't say a word, only the wind made a whooshing sound.

Then tears slipped free from my eyes. “The orphanage will kick me out soon, once I turn twenty, i just need a chance.”

"Plus Nicholas didn't even try to stand up for me once I was framed. How can I accept him to be my boyfriend when he doesn't even trust or protect me!"

Screech! The car suddenly stopped.

“Nicholas?” Alfred snapped, If there was one thing that agitated Alfred it was Nicholas. Their hatred run deep.

I seized the moment. “Help me,” I whispered, gripping his hand. “I’ll do anything.”

He froze, calculating.. I did right by calling Nicholas out, because they always compete with each other, trying to shine higher than the other. Even though Alfred was the leading boss now.

He would do anything to make Nicholas hurts in anger! Especially knowing Nicholas wants me as his girlfriend...he would do anything to have me.

His smile stretched and my scheming face turned pure puppy-like.

I collapsed back to my seat satisfied but “In one condition.”

“What?”

“556 Davenport. Penthouse. Eight PM. Don't be late” I nodded.

Sigh! Alfred was a beats just as Nicholas, he wanted to have sex with me.. how typical of him, I thought inwardly.

They really suited each-other.

“I accept."

But, I leaned in, my breath brushing against his face, warm. My lips inches away from his. I watched as he licked his lips moving closer to get a kiss, but I pulled bacwkards playfully.

"What do you want?" He asked, he knew I wanted something, his hand resting on my chin.

“I have a condition too,” I murmured. “Clear my name. Investigate the theft.”

He smirked. “Deal.” he leaned in to kiss me, but I pulled away, staring out the window.

“The view is nice,” I said softly, but my gaze was dark and sharp

“Yes very appetizing,” he replied. I knew he was referring to me. Nicholas was a devil, but Alfred was a bastard.

Sigh! Really born bastards will remain bastards,I insulted inwardly

Let him look. Let him want...My revenge had only just begun.
