AlyssaI stared out the window of my tall office building letting my thoughts run haywire with a lot that has been happening these days.A soft knock on the door broke my quiet moment, fighting back a hiss I mumble a "Come in," not turning around.I heard the door open and close knowing very well it had to be Marcus. "Alyssa," Marcus calls out his tune careful. I didn't like that tone. It usually meant bad news. What now?I finally turned to face him he was standing in front of my big desk holding a file looking nervous."What is it Marcus?" I asked as I walked over and sat in my large leather chair. "Just tell me what now is the problem" He took a deep breath. "It's about Damon's company," he said. "I spoke with them this morning.""And?" I asked my voice sharp. "Do they have my money?"Marcus shifted his weight. "They... they can't pay the debt not right now. They are asking for more time. They are proposing we give them another chance."Another chance. Those two words were like a
