Brandon’s POV

Natalie left so quickly it almost felt like she’d been holding her breath the whole time she was with me.

And for the life of me, I couldn’t understand why.

She wasn’t rude—not exactly. But she was… distant. Cold. Almost stiff. Like I’d somehow offended her in a hundred different ways without even speaking.

The care package? God. Was that it?

I scrubbed a hand down my face.

Perfect. Just perfect.

I’d wanted to do something thoughtful. Something small. Something to show I noticed how much she was handling—how hard she was working. And apparently, that translated to… whatever that reaction was.

Maybe it was a wrong move. Maybe I shouldn’t have sent anything at all.

Fuck.

Women are complicated.

I leaned back against the conference table, forcing myself to refocus on something I actually knew how to deal with: the case.

We had a solid strategy. Strong claims. Enough for a TRO. And with Vivian’s latest statements, she’d practically handed us the grounds on a silver platter.

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 139 – A Loving Grandfather

Brandon’s POVNatalie looked like she’d seen a ghost.Which was ironic, considering whose house we’d just walked into. Her face was pale, her shoulders stiff, and even the way she held her bag—tight to her chest—made something uneasy twist inside me.“You okay?” I asked quietly. She startled. Like she’d forgotten I was standing right beside her.“Y-yes,” she said too fast. “I’m just… tired.” Then she had the nerve to glare at me. “And have you forgotten that you dragged me here against my will?”I didn’t know how to answer that, so I just said, “Right. Sorry about that.” She glanced around the foyer—high ceilings, polished floors, the old portrait gallery on the left. The place was barely touched since Grandfather died. Frozen in time… and still somehow heavy with him.“It’s… beautiful here,” she said softly, almost reverently. “Really beautiful.”I watched her fingertips graze the carved bannister, watched her try to distract herself with anything that wasn’t me. “It is,” I agreed.

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 138 – Welcome to Paradise

Emma’s POVThe resort pier looked like something out of a travel magazine—white sand, turquoise water, palm trees waving like they had zero problems in life. Meanwhile, I had a clipboard, two damp shoes from the boat spray, and a mild desire to lie down on the dock and sleep for ten years.Instead, I put on my best professional smile.A tall man in a sea-blue polo approached us with a warm, practiced grin.“Welcome to Azure Pearl Resort!” he announced. “I’m Jeremiah, your guest relations manager. Ms. Emma of Wanderlux Travel Agency?”I stepped forward. “Yes. Great to meet you.”“Likewise. We’ll take excellent care of your group.” Then he glanced at Lucas, who hovered beside me like a possessive shadow. “Is this your… colleague?”Lucas answered before I could. “I’m Lucas Ardent.”Jeremiah blinked. “Oh—Ardent Real Estate?”Lucas smirked. “The very one.”I rolled my eyes internally. Men.Jeremiah’s posture straightened so fast I thought he’d pulled a muscle.“Oh—oh! Mr. Ardent.”His smil

Natalie’s POVOf all days— of all damn days— why does my car have to break down today?!I slammed the hood shut harder than necessary, exhaling through my teeth. I could feel Brandon approaching before I even heard him.“Natalie,” he said, annoyingly calm, “come on. Let’s go.”“No.” I grabbed my bag, brushing past him. “I’ll just book a cab.”“It’s rush hour.”“I don’t care.”“I do.”I turned sharply. “Brandon, I said I’ll take a cab.”“And I said you’re riding with me to the office.”I scoffed. “You can’t just—order me into your car.”“Watch me.”My jaw clenched so hard it almost cracked. I unlocked my phone, opened the ride-hailing app, and—High demand. No available cars.Perfect.I tried again. Nothing.Brandon sighed like he had predicted every second of this.“Natalie,” he said, stepping closer, “stop being stubborn.”“Says the king of stubborn.”His lips twitched. “I’m not letting you stand here for thirty minutes waiting for a car that won’t come.”“I can walk to the main road

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 136 – Brimming with Jealousy

Brandon’s POVI couldn’t understand her. She’s been acting really weird lately. The way Natalie walked out of that courtroom—cold, sharp, unreachable—felt like a slap I didn’t see coming. She’d just won. She’d shut Vivian down so thoroughly the judge practically apologized for letting the case run as long as it did.She should’ve been proud and relieved. And normally, we would have been discussing it with a positive tone. But she looked at me like I was the enemy. And for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why. What the hell did I do?I followed her into the hallway because I needed answers—any answers—but all she gave me was suspicion. Accusations without saying the actual words. And when her question landed—Are you thinking of switching sides?I swear my brain short-circuited.By the time we stepped out of the courthouse, my confusion had turned into a tight knot in my chest.I walked after her, unable to stop myself. She didn’t slow down. Didn’t look back. But I could tell sh

  • Divorce and Regret: Chasing My Famous Lawyer Ex-Wife   Chapter 135 – Whose Side Are You On?

Natalie’s POVCourtrooms always smelled the same—cold air, old wood, and tension thick enough to bite through. Today, though, my tension wasn’t from the case.It was from the man sitting two seats to my left. And the woman across the aisle who kept glancing at him.Vivian.I straightened my files on the table and didn’t look at Brandon. Not once. Not even when I could feel his gaze flicking toward me.No. Today, I didn’t care what he thought of me.Today, I had an important job to do.When the judge called our case, I stood.“Your Honor, York International formally requests a Temporary Restraining Order against Ms. Vivian Sinclair to prevent her from making further defamatory public statements.”Vivian’s lawyer stood immediately after. “Your Honor, Ms. Sinclair is simply defending herself against accusations—”I held up a hand. “No. She is not.”The judge raised a brow. “Ms. Harris, you may respond.”I clicked the remote, and the first clip played on the courtroom screen—Vivian’s inte

Emma’s POVAirports always felt like organized chaos—especially when you were responsible for a dozen executives who acted like they’d never traveled before.“Okay, everyone,” I announced, lifting my clipboard, “please have your passports out. Our group check-in is at counter E14. I’ll handle the documents; you can line up behind me.”A wave of nods and murmurs followed.I was reviewing the list when a low, amused voice brushed my ear.“You’re very in charge today, Emma. I like watching you like that.”Lucas. Of course. His presence made me feel exhilarated for many different reasons. “I am in charge,” I muttered, trying not to notice how gorgeous he appeared today.. “That’s literally my job.”“Mm.” He leaned slightly closer. “And you enjoy bossing everyone around.”I stepped away from him before I forgot how to inhale properly.“Mr. Aragon,” I called to a VP who looked lost near a vending machine, “our check-in counter is this way, sir.”“Oh! Yes—thank you, Emma.”“Anytime.”Behind
