Cassandra’s POV

“Dillon!” I cried out. His face scanned the room, his eyes wild. Jordyn and Cameron both appeared behind him.

“Cassandra,” he said, taking a step. But I stopped him.

“Watch out. She has a gun,” I hollered.

I had no idea how the men had found us. Cameron had tried to tail the black car, but it had lost him. I’d never been so relieved to see any one in my whole life though. However, my relief was short-lived. It quickly gave way to fear.

“No,” I said, shaking my hand. “Get out of here. All of you!”

I didn’t want them here. Ellie had a gun and she had completely lost her mind. I was terrified that seeing Jordyn, Cameron, and Dillon would set her off and she’d start firing at us.

The men all whipped their heads towards Ellie. She was in the corner of the room, a shocked look on her face.

“What the fuck?” she said. “How did you find us?”

“That picture you sent of Stella bound t

Cassandra’s POV I looked left and then right. Had I been down this corridor yet? My heart was hammering in my chest. I felt the walls closing in on me. ‘Just breathe,’ I told myself. ‘You’ll find your way out if you just stay calm.’It was almost dark and I’d been trying to get to the middle of the maze for at least twenty minutes now. But every corridor I went down just led to another one, and I was pretty sure I’d circled my way back to the same place several times now. He’d ditched me! He’d fucking disappeared and ditched me! I tried to catch up to Sebastian, but I couldn’t find him. Who does that? Who just leaves someone all alone in a massive maze when it's getting dark? Any ‘thoughts’ I’d had about Sebastian had flown right out the window by now. He was an arrogant asshole. He’d left me all alone to traverse this maze, knowing it was getting dark. The corridors were spacious enoug

Cassandra’s POV I resisted the urge to scoff at Jordyn. Be careful? Of what? Getting lost in a hedge maze? It was a strange warning with an ominous tone. Ahead of me, Sebastian had stopped. He was waiting for me to catch up. The maze was enormous, with walls at least twenty feet high. Jordyn and Blaire were already entering the maze by the time I got to Sebastian. He didn’t say anything. He just looked me up and down, as though he were examining me. I felt uncomfortable under his intense gaze. I couldn’t help but notice again how handsome he was. I’d actually never seen anyone that looked like him before. He had an easy, confident swagger about him that only amplified his good looks. I realized that the reason I found him so attractive likely had to do with the fact that he was French, living in a palace, and the daughter of a Dutchess. A Dutchess whom I just happened to like very much. “Shall we go in?” I a

Cassandra’s POV Mother? So this was Blaire’s son I realized. I found that strange since he looked NOTHING like Blaire. Blaire was light, with platinum blonde hair that was so blonde, it was almost white. Her eyes were a deep green. She was light; this man was dark. But Blaire laughed at his comment. “Cassandra, Jordyn, this Sebastian, my son.” His eyes were still locked on me. He nodded. “Pleasure,” he said. Then he picked up his wine glass and took a swig. He placed it back down and made a sweeping motion with his hand. “Welcome to….all this.” “They’ll be joining us tomorrow night for the Masquerade Ball,” Blaire continued as the waiters set down another course. Filet mignon with a side of asparagus. “Lucky them,” Sebastion said sarcastically. “Come now, love,” Blaire said, her voice light. “You used to love the masquerade ball.” “Love is fleeting,” he replied, turning his eyes to Blai

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 373: Sebastian

Cassandra’s POV An hour later, we were seated at a formal dining table with more waiters attending to us than a full out gala. Jordyn and I had been given the grand tour of the palace, or well, part of it. The important parts, according to Blaire. We’d seen the rest tomorrow. Then we’d been sent to our separate rooms to dress for dinner. I’d chosen a long, floor length gown and Jordyn had chosen a crisp, black suit. We both looked quite dapper, if I did say so myself. Rhett had escorted us to the dining hall, which was bigger than our entire new office back home. Everything about the palace felt larger than life, and I had to literally stop myself from walking around with my mouth hanging wide open in awe. Jordyn had laughed several times at the Blaire’s strange way of speaking. She’d called me a sun-kissed daisy in the rain, whatever that meant. But I told Jordyn he’d get used to it. It’s just the way Blaire was. And sure enough, but by the

Cassandra’s POV “Come on. What else do we have going on? It’s a palace!” I’d hung up with Blaire Montgomery, who had learned that I was in Paris and called me immediately. It hadn’t even occurred to me to call her to tell her that I’d be in town. Of course, she insisted that we both come and visit her. She was sending a car for us first thing tomorrow morning. All I had to do was text her the address of my villa. I told her we could only stay a couple of nights. She’d said it was better than nothing. Jordyn was hesitant though. “You barely know her,” he said. “And now you want to get in a car with some stranger and go god knows where?” “I do know her,” I protested. “She’s a client and a friend. I had lunch with her a while back in the city when she was there for some sort of gala. She’s a riot, really. A wonderful person. And she’s a dutchess. She’s legit royalty, Jordyn. Stop making it sound like she’s some sort of mu

  • Divorce and Regret, His Ex-wife is a Billionaire   Chapter 371: Paris Cassandra

Cassandra’s POV I felt positively giddy when we left the store front. “Let’s go shopping,” I said, taking Jordyn’s hand. I’d been a billionaire for a few months now, but I hadn’t really bought anything significant. What did I need to buy? Stanley had left me his estate and a yacht. I’d bought some new furniture for the estate, and some clothes, but other than that, my money had pretty much sat in the bank. I didn’t realize how good it felt to spend a shit ton of money. The realtor said she would reach out to the client to see if they were willing to sell. “Make them an offer they can’t refuse,” I said flippantly. “And call me as soon as you have.” Then we shook hands and Jordyn and I left. “Cassandra,” Jordyn said. “I’m not sure you need to BUY the place. I mean, what if it doesn’t work out or…” “Then I’ll own a beautiful store in the most beautiful city in the world and I’ll find somet
