•Juliet POV•

Vera and I spent most of the night talking about my decision to take Edward back. She listened with a smile, making her usual jokes about it, her eyes soft with concern and quiet support. Then she told me she’d be leaving for London the following day. We talked until I began to feel drowsy, and I told her I was going to bed.

We both made our way to our rooms. The moment I got to mine, I sat on the edge of the bed for a while, my thoughts drifting back to Edward, the way he looked at me, the way he kissed me, and then that embrace. So genuine… so tender. It was something I had longed for years ago, something I never thought I’d feel again.

The thought brought a smile to my face as I lay back against the pillows, pulling the blanket over my shoulders. I closed my eyes gently and slowly drifted off to sleep.
