“Why not?” he replied casually.

His gray eyes were fixed on me.

“You’re talented, Samantha. I’ve seen your previous work, and it’s incredible. I thought you might be interested in these scripts.”

My fingers brushed the cover of one of them, my thoughts racing.

It had been so long…

So long since anyone believed in my talent.

Let alone encouraged me to step back into the spotlight.

But was Zephyr really doing this just to help me?

That didn’t make sense.

It made more sense if he wanted me to become an actress again so I could pay him back.

For everything.

The living expenses.

The clothes.

All the things he had given me.

Even if he hadn’t said it…

I knew better than anyone.

Nothing in this world was truly free.

Still…

I wasn’t even sure I could become the actress I once was.

“I… don’t know what to say,” I admitted softly, looking at him.

Zephyr nodded. “No pressure. Just think about it.”

“Mr. Lloyd is right, Mrs. Cole.”

A middle-aged woman with glasses spoke up.

“It would be such a waste not to use your extraordinary talent again.”

I narrowed my eyes and glanced at her name tag.

Gina.

Director.

The men beside her had already been introduced.

Trevor—the Head Producer.

Ryan—the Vice President Director.

I couldn’t believe this.

Why were all these important people gathered here…

Just for me?

“Despite your hiatus, you still have a solid fan base,” Ryan said. “We’ve analyzed everything. There’s a huge demand for your comeback. Fans have been waiting for you, and this project is the perfect opportunity.”

I tapped my fingers lightly on the table, feeling overwhelmed.

“Honestly, I’m flattered,” I said. “But I haven’t been on screen in years. I’m not sure I can meet those expectations.”

And even if I did…

People would say I got the role because of Zephyr.

Not because I deserved it.

Gina chuckled softly. “Don’t worry about that. We didn’t come unprepared.”

She placed several sheets on the table.

“We’ve arranged professional acting coaches to help you refine your skills.”

So this was their plan.

They weren’t taking no for an answer.

Even if Zephyr said there was no pressure…

It didn’t feel that way.

They had everything ready.

There was no escape.

“This isn’t just about business, Samantha.”

Zephyr’s voice cut through the room.

“This is about giving you what you deserve.”

My chest tightened.

“Your ex-husband took everything from you. Now it’s my turn to give it back.”

Rowan…

He had taken everything.

My confidence.

My career.

My self-worth.

This wasn’t just an offer.

It was a chance.

A chance to rebuild everything I had lost.

Maybe…

The thing holding me back wasn’t my ability.

It was that voice in my head.

The one telling me I wasn’t enough.

“I really want you to take this opportunity,” Zephyr continued. “But if you’re uncomfortable, I’ll respect your decision.”

I looked at the documents again.

The scripts.

The contracts.

Everything they had prepared.

Other actors…

Would never get opportunities like this.

And that was exactly the problem.

It felt like I was being handed something I couldn’t even swallow.

If I wanted to return…

I had to earn it.

“I want to audition,” I said firmly.

“Like everyone else.”

“It’s been a long time, and I need something to push me. I want real critiques. No sugarcoating.”

Zephyr smiled.

“Glad to have you back, Mrs. Cole.”

After the meeting, Zephyr gave me space to think.

I had already narrowed it down to three scripts.

But I still couldn’t choose.

Even after we left the office…

Even after we got into the car…

I kept reading them again and again.

“The audition is still two months away,” Zephyr said. “You have time.”

“That’s the problem,” I muttered, flipping another page. “I don’t think two months is enough.”

“I can postpone it.”

I immediately looked up.

“No.”

“What’s the point of auditioning if it’s not fair from the start?”

Yes, I needed money.

But not like that.

Not through shortcuts.

Not through favoritism.

Then I noticed something.

The road.

This wasn’t the way back to Silverclaw Manor.

“Where are we going?” I asked.

Zephyr smiled faintly, his eyes still on the road.

“To register you as my Luna.”

My eyes widened.

Everything was happening too fast.

Too much in one day.

The car eventually stopped in front of a large, dark building on the outskirts of the city.

Unlike human institutions…

The Nocturnal Order only operated at night.

I took a deep breath before stepping inside.

My heels echoed against the marble floor as we approached the front desk.

A beautiful vampire greeted us with a polite smile.

“How can I help you tonight?”

“I’d like to register Samantha Cole as Luna of the Silverclaw Pack,” Zephyr said firmly.

He didn’t need to introduce himself.

She already knew who he was.

She typed my name into her system.

Then frowned.

A red warning flashed on her screen.

“I’m sorry,” she said. “I can’t proceed with the registration if one of you is still legally married.”

My brows furrowed.

“I filed for divorce,” I said. “Rowan Fell was supposed to sign the papers yesterday.”

The receptionist shook her head.

“Last night, Mr. Rowan Fell refused the divorce.”

She paused.

“He claims it was all a misunderstanding.”

The writer looked at me with compassionate eyes. She was on the verge of tears, unable to believe that the character she had imagined for years had finally come to life."I might not have the authority to choose the actor," Celeste said confidently, "but all I can say is… I think you would be perfect for my Elara."Gina, the vice director, nodded in agreement. "I don’t have much to say because your performance has exceeded my expectations, Mrs. Cole."Still immersed in the character’s emotions, I tried my best to wipe away the tears in my eyes, but a bright smile had already formed on my lips."Thank you," I said politely.Their compliments boosted my confidence and silenced the doubts that had been filling my head for the past few days.Matthew clapped again, grinning. "I rarely compliment actors during auditions, but right now my mouth would itch all day if I didn’t say this—you’ve made me want to see this movie right now."The producer, Diego West, couldn’t help but smile. "We can’

Even though five years had passed, my appearance still looked as young as before, and that was one of the advantages of being a werewolf. We weren’t immortal, but our aging process was three times slower than humans. That was why werewolf celebrities tended to have longer careers compared to ordinary humans.Unfortunately, I no longer had the same spark I used to carry. My appearance hadn’t changed, but the way I saw the world had shifted drastically. The wounds in my heart still hadn’t healed, and they made it difficult to keep my spirits up. Still, I refused to drown in that pain anymore. I had to try."I need to go first, Mrs. Cole," Gina said, patting my shoulder lightly before walking away. "I can’t wait to see your best performance."Right.I reminded myself of that as I watched her leave. I had come here for a reason—to give my best, to rebuild my career from the ground up.Today, I only needed to focus on myself. I needed to stand on equal ground with Zephyr someday.I made my

I had a really good sleep that night. For the first time in so long, I could sleep next to my mother again, her presence wrapping around me like a shield, giving me the kind of comfort I hadn’t realized I’d been missing all these years. When morning came, I led my parents to the dining room, where we met Zephyr’s entire family. They all seemed a bit anxious—especially Eleanor. It made sense. My parents recognized her as Rowan’s maternal grandmother. They had met her several times before my wedding, and things hadn’t exactly ended well."Mom, Dad… Eleanor is the one who helped me ruin Rowan’s business," I explained gently, hoping to ease the tension between them. Before either of them could respond, Ashley came running toward us, holding a plate of cake. Her small face lit up with excitement as she stopped in front of my parents."Hello! I’m Ashley!" she chirped happily. "This is for you. My mom says we should always give a welcoming cake to our staying guests."I watched as my mother’

Zephyr sat across from my parents, while I sat between them nervously. We had decided to move into Zephyr’s study room for more privacy, but the closed space made the atmosphere feel heavy and awkward. My mother’s eyes never left Zephyr as she spoke. "Explain your relationship with my daughter."I nudged her sleeve, whispering, "Mom, I told you—""No, not you, sweetie. I want him to answer it by himself."The last time she allowed me to defend my mate, the results had been disastrous. So this time, she wanted to judge Zephyr without my involvement.Across from us, Zephyr looked a bit stiff. His usual calm demeanor had vanished under the intensity of my mother’s gaze.It never occurred to me that my mother could make a strong and respected Alpha like Zephyr nervous. He cleared his throat before speaking. "I understand your concern, Mrs. Cole. My family issue is not something I am proud of, but I assure you, I don’t have any intention of hurting your daughter.""I marked Samantha to pro

A helicopter descended onto the private landing pad near the Silverclaw manor. As the helicopter door opened, my parents stepped out, their faces filled with anger and frustration. After hearing my cry through the phone, my father, Derek Cole, immediately rented a helicopter to fly from Velmoria City to Northbridge City. For five years, they had struggled to stay in touch with me after I married Rowan. They assumed I was simply busy and tried to be understanding of my situation. However, after learning the harsh truth, they finally realized the real reason I had never come home for so many years.Zephyr walked toward them as they descended from the helicopter. "Alpha Derek, Luna Hattie. I—""Where is my daughter?" my mother—Hattie Cole—immediately cut off his words. After knowing what Rowan had done to me, she couldn’t bear to see any of his family’s faces.Zephyr didn’t get angry over her attitude and tried to understand. "She is in the manor. Please, follow me."My mother exchanged

The judge said, "And the matter of assets and alimony will be addressed separately in the coming days."Mr. Anders quickly stood up. "Your Honor, if I may, I believe there are assets that should be addressed immediately."The judge said, "I understand your concerns, Mr. Anders. However, the court has already determined that such matters will be handled in the separated session due to complicated matters."The judge continued, "This decision ensures that all financial matters are reviewed thoroughly and fairly. Rushing this process would not serve justice."I could clearly see the tension on Mr. Anders’s face. He clenched his jaw, his fingers gripping his pen tightly. After receiving the hard blow to his business, Rowan must have wanted to secure all of his assets as soon as possible.Fortunately, the judge was a fair person, so he declined Mr. Anders’ suggestion without hesitation. Not long after, the judge’s gavel struck again. "Court dismissed."I immediately stood up from my chair
