Olivia's POV
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the fifth wedding anniversary of Liam Rockwell and Olivia Sinclair!”
The emcee’s voice boomed around the hall as I stood on the stage, the corset of my custom-made gown squeezing my 150 kg body so tight I could barely breathe.
I forced a smile, the same plastic one I’d worn for five years, pretending I was the perfect trophy wife everyone expected.
Liam didn’t even glance at me, not once, he kept his eyes fixed on the crowd, shoulders stiff, like he was embarrassed to be standing next to me and couldn’t wait for the whole thing to be over.
These five years had been hell.
Our marriage was arranged because the Sinclair family modelling agency needed the Rockwell media connection, and Liam needed the shares my father dangled.
My husband never hid how much he was ashamed to be seen with me in public.
I was never invited to family functions and the few times I showed up anyway, all anyone talked about was my size.
“How did she even fit through the door?” “Poor Liam, stuck with the fat one.”
Liam refused to touch me when he was sober, only when he was drunk would he stumble into the bedroom.
“Don’t get naked,” he’d snap every single time. “Your body is disgusting. Just lie there and keep quiet.”
I’d stare at the ceiling while he used me like I was furniture without looking at my face or even kissing me.
Afterward he’d roll off, mutter something about how hard it was to lift someone my size, then leave me alone in the dark.
Every dress I owned had to be custom-made because nothing in the store fits me and designers charged triple because “it takes extra fabric.
I’d stand in front of mirrors and cry, wondering why I couldn’t just disappear.
Tonight I tried to feel pretty. I’d even put on extra lipstick. When the music slowed and couples started dancing, I leaned toward him, hopeful, even though I knew I'd be embarrassed.
I pressed my lips to his cheek as the camera lights flashed our way and he jerked back like I’d burned him.
“What the hell are you trying to do?” His voice was low, venomous. “You want to compress me? Crush me under all that weight?”
My throat closed.
He leaned closer so only I could hear. “Women like you don’t deserve love, Olivia. Look at your sister, Isabella. She's so perfect unlike you. You're so disgusting! You better lose some weight because I’m tired of being tied down to an obese woman.”
I tried not to cry in front of everyone and just smiled as he walked away, pretending he had just told me something sweet.
The emcee’s voice cut through again. “And now, a toast from the family!”
Bella climbed the podium in her shimmering size-zero gown, hips swaying, every eye on her.
I already knew it was going to be bad. She’d hated me since we were children.
My father never hid that I was a mistake who ruined the Sinclair family image because of my size and because I was too big to walk the runaway.
As a result of that, Bella was the golden child, the face of the agency. I was the one they kept hidden.
Bella raised her glass, smiling sweetly.
“To my sister Olivia and her wonderful husband. Five beautiful years.” She paused, eyes glittering. “Though I have to admit, it’s been hard watching someone sabotage the company that keeps us all fed.”
Murmurs rippled through the room.
Bella continued, voice dripping fake concern.
“I caught her myself and I've been keeping tabs on her ever since. She's working with rivals of the Nova group and I saw her emailing confidential merger documents, I have evidence. I shouldn't have said this, but I can't just keep quiet, because brother in-law is a good man and he doesn't deserve what my sister is doing to him”
The plate of chocolate cake I’d been holding slipped from my fingers. It hit the floor with a wet splat.
“No…” My voice cracked. “That’s not true. I would never…”
Liam snatched the microphone from the emcee.
“Not only are you obese, you’re a conspirator.” His eyes raked over me with disgust. “Look at everyone here eating healthy snacks and here you are, stuffing your face with junk like always. No wonder you fart through every meeting. The whole office can smell you coming.”
Laughter exploded around the room.
My knees buckled from shame.
Liam’s voice rose. “In fact, I’m tired. Tired of pretending. What you did is unforgivable. I want a divorce.”
He gestured and his lawyer stepped forward with a leather folder.
“My lawyers have already prepared everything. I signed the papers the very day we got married. I was just waiting for the right moment.”
The folder landed at my feet.
I dropped to my knees, dress pooling around me as tears streamed down my cheeks.
“You can’t do this to me, baby. Please. You know I’d never do something like that. Bella is lying against me! This is all a set up. I've been a good wife, I cook, I clean. Remember when you had kidney failure, I gave you my kidney Liam. I helped you build Nova group to the position it is right now, even when your father didn't believe in you, you can't strip me off my dignity in front of all these people please, Liam”
As I was speaking Liam sank to one knee.
I knew it! My husband would never take my sister's side, my heart leapt with joy, I never knew Liam could kneel in front of everyone to apologize for hurting me.
I was about to rush to him when he pulled out a diamond ring and turned to my sister, Bella.
“Isabella Sinclair,” he said, loud enough for every camera to catch it,
“Thank you for saving my life tonight and for exposing the truth. You're everything Olivia would never be.. Would you do me the honor of making me the happiest man alive… and be my wife?”
Olivia's POVWhen I went back to the house, I still wasn’t very comfortable about everything that happened at my parent house. I still can’t believe that my dad let her go with him after he slept with her right in front of me. Now, I am left thinking if he actually hated me, which is why he treated me like that.I know Theo was worried about me, but I could not help but worry about Bella. I know that the both of us don’t have the best relationship as sisters, but I know how she is. I know that what Dad did to her must hurt a lot because of how much she likes him and how she adores him. After a long ride we finally arrived at the house. I headed inside immediately without saying a word to my husband because I was still trying to wrap everything that just happened in my head. I know very well that I shouldn’t stress myself about anything that concerns that family, but I just can’t help but worry because, at the end of the day, we’re still related, and she's still my younger sister.I kn
know very well that everything I have said meant nothing to the both of them, but I needed him to understand it. I’m not the reason why I am like this; I was born like this, and it’s not my fault that I don’t have Bella‘s kind of body to continue the family legacy.“Dad, you see what she’s doing again? Victimizing herself as usual! I don’t understand why we can’t have a normal conversation with her without her trying to victimize herself and make us look like the bad people. You invited her to this house so that we can have a conversation as family, but unfortunately she’s trying to remind us about how her size was always a problem in the family. Is it awful that she ended up like that?”“Shut up, Bella.” Bella was not expecting that at all because every time in my presence Dad has never spoken to her like that; she was completely speechless when she heard what Dad said, and she didn’t bother to see any more words because I could tell she was very embarrassed at the moment.“Olivia, I
Olivia's POVI finally decided to go see my mom and dad because he’s been texting me nonstop, and every time I try to ignore his message, it is almost impossible, and now that Theo isn't in the chat, I honestly don’t know what to do right now.It was not even on my bucket list at all to go visit them anytime soon, but I had no other choice but to do it because I need to know why on earth they have been trying to reach me and why they have been sending me so many messages.“What am I even doing?” I asked myself and paused driving because I needed to calm down a little before I continued driving to the house. So many memories from my last visit there were rushing through my mind, and I was not able to concentrate at all. After resting for a short time I continued driving, and after a very short period of time I finally arrived at the house.Just like the last time, the code is still the same; it feels like it never changes in this house. I entered inside the house, and it felt like both
Olivia's POVI have been receiving so many messages from my dad these past few days; I did not bother to read any of the messages because I don’t want anything from that man, and I don’t even want any relationship with him again because when I needed it, he wasn’t there. He abandoned me and did not care whether I drowned or I lived."Liv," Juliet called excitedly. I was very curious to hear what is making her so excited because she hasn’t sounded excited since the last time she met Halima.“What is it, Jull?" She gave me a funny look because she doesn’t like it whenever I call her like that.“What? I told you I wasn’t going to stop.” I tried to defend it myself because I actually love to call her that, especially because she doesn’t like it.“You’re so lucky I’m in a very good mood; I’ll just pretend like I didn’t hear you call me that.” I realised the news has to be a very exciting one for her.“Spill.” I said to her and paused what I was doing.“Earlier today during lunch I met this
Bella's POVI remembered immediately the last time my dad and I had a conversation; he clearly talked about partnering with that particular company, and now my husband is having a conversation with a representative of the company. I didn’t know what exactly his plan is, which is why I cannot just bring up the fact that my dad wants to partner with the company so that I don’t ruin things for my family again.I noticed the environment was too quiet, and I was expecting the both of them to start talking until I looked at my husband. Liam signalled me immediately to excuse the both of them. I was not happy about it, but it’s not like I have a choice.“Let me go make something for our guest; feel at home, Erica.” I said to her and forced a smile, and I could also tell that the smile she gave to me was also fake. When I went to the kitchen, I slammed my hand on the table several times because I was so upset about everything that just happened. It was getting clear to me that he treats me so
Writer’s POVBella was very upset. Just when she thought she could do some things to keep her marriage together again, she had to say something that she never expected to happen.“Liam.” She screamed his name at the top of her voice. She went closer to them immediately and pushed the lady away from Liam.“What are you doing?” Liam asked her angrily the moment she pushed the lady aside; he was wondering why Bella started behaving like that all of a sudden. He didn’t want to say so much because he knows that the lady is an outsider at the end of the day, and she might go out there and spill nonsense about the relationship the both of them have, which is why he tried his best not to say too much or do too much.“Do you realize that you were in the arms of another woman? You do know very well how popular our relationship is, but you still had the audacity to be in the arms of another woman, giving outsiders the opportunity to talk about our relationship," Bella said. Liam was completely d
Bella POVI screamed at the top of my voice when I got outside. I can’t believe she had the audacity to speak to me like that. I recollected every word she said to me inside there, and I almost lost my cool completely.I brought out my phone from my bag and placed a call to my mom. After several cal
Olivia's POVAt first I didn’t want to go because I was a little worried about how things would be between both of us, especially because I know her to be a rage baiter; she knows how to say words that would make me do something that I don’t want to do.So I decided that I wasn’t going to exchange
Bella's POV“I will never accept her as my boss!” I screamed at the top of my voice, scattering everything in front of me. I still find it hard to believe that Olivia would be the one leading the company that I work in as a model. Things are not supposed to be like this; that girl was supposed to d
Olivia's POVI was very curious to hear what he had to say because I had been waiting for him to return so that he could tell me how the meeting was, but I was not satisfied with the way his facial expression was; he did not look like he was happy at all, and my heart kept beating fast.He walked c
