Lillian’s POV

Days pass by before my eyes in a blur.

It’s been a week, and my routine has been the same. Waking up early, training, visiting Rena, and following up with Maddox and the team on how the investigation is going.

It’s disheartening that there’s still no positive outcome to this, and that’s all I can do.

My nerves are burning with fury and frustration, and all I can think is that indulging myself in this routine will numb all my lingering aches from everything: Keegan’s appearance in my life, my mother’s issues, and my past, especially Rena’s situation.

But no matter how exhausted my body becomes, my mind stays wide awake.

Probably the only good news in this dark week is the improvement in Rena’s condition. Physically, at least.

Emotionally… I’m not so sure. And frankly, it will probably be hard to recover.

She still flinches when men walk past her door or get close anywhere in her line of sight, even if they’re healers or warriors, even if it’s her Alpha, Craig.

Lillian’s POVMy finger shakes while scrolling the tablet, reading every detail about Wes.“How… How can he be on the border… How dare he… How… He…” I am shaking from fury, and my mind is starting to fill with bloodlust that I can’t even make a full sentence, thousands of questions filling my mind. How can a member of the the Moonstone Pack tojoin the the Oasis Pack?? I know that the crime occurs on the shared border,, but how does Wes manage to manipulate thingsto gog his way??Rena is coming right to the place where he wants. His daring to do such an act despite being bound by pack laws…It’s just…I can’t even put into words the feelings that’s filling me up right now.“Miss Lillian…” Drake calls out in shock when his tablet drops on the ground, leaving the screen a cracked.Looking down at it, I shake my head in disbelief, the words that shock me still visible on the lower right corner of the tablet.“This can’t be real…” I utter, my voice almost a whisper. Looking up, eyes shifti

Keegan’s POV“Alpha!”A loud call and abrupt opening of my office door when Dom burst in echoes, interrupting Sienna’s approach toward me and silencing what she was about to say.Seeing the urgency in him, I look past the fact that he just barges in, and ask, “What is it?”His eyes travel between me and Sienna, hesitating.I glance at Sienna.Since I have already agreed to marry her, I don’t see why I shouldn't let her hear anything. With a nod, Dom reports, “About the Rogue who assaulted the girl from the Oasis pack, our men investigate it as you ordered. We found some footprints and traces of scent masking.”My eyes narrow.“It surely isn’t a random attack. Whoever did it knew what they were doing,” he continues, making my heart pound with worry. This time, not just for Lillian, but for my entire pack and every she-wolves out there. With that bastard uncaught and lurking around, who knows who is safe? What if that Rogue isn’t just targeting the Oasis pack?My fist clenches at my sid

Keegan’s POVI leave the shop in more frustration than I have been in a long time.Though I have felt a bit at ease seeing her well after I learn about what happened to that little girl, I can’t stop feeling in pain and frustrated. But it’s not because of Uncle Craig or anything else… It’s because of LillianThe way she looks at me with disgust and anger. The way she sees me is like I’m just another wolf or monster trying to control her life. And what makes me even more frustrated… It’s the fact that I know she is right.Everything she sees and thinks is right. We are legally and utterly separated. As to why she still has my mark, it’s unknown to us both, but that doesn’t change anything between us.But the thing is… I only remind her of that every chance I get because that’s the only thing I have on her. It’s the only thing that makes me feel like we still have a chance together. It’s just me… refusing to admit that I’ve already lost her.Damn it!I can’t help but curse as I walk fu

Lillian’s POVMy heart tightened as I slowly turned around, already sensing who it was before my eyes confirmed it.As always, his presence is like a part of me. It’s something I have already memorised like the back of my hand after years of admiring him. It’s Keegan. He stands tall, his usual cold and oppressive aura surrounding him. Though he is dressed casually with a white fitted round collared shirt and dark blue shorts, there’s nothing casual about the way his eyes lock into me… or the way they flicker briefly to Craig, who is standing a bit close to me since he’s showing me an item. For a moment, none of us spoke a word. It’s like we are in a calculative stance, staring at each other while heaviness in the air thickens.“I heard about what happened.” It’s Keegan who speaks first, eyes fixed on me.His tone comes out sharp, but I recognise the concern beneath it.I stare at him for a while, look around, and behind him. He’s alone. His Beta, warriors, or even Sienna, isn’t here w

Lillian’s POVThe knock on the door startles me. I’m not expecting anyone this early. In fact, I am not expecting anyone at all. With heavy steps and a lazy body, I get up from my bed and drag my feet to the doorstep. When I open it, I blink in surprise.Craig is standing there with his arms crossed and a serious expression. “Morning.”My brow furrows, and I comb my messy hair with my fingers, still half asleep. “What are you doing here so early?”“Early?” he asked, raising his brows at me.“Yeah?” My voice comes out in a duh tone while I open the door wide for him and turn around to grab some water from the kitchen, him following suit.
