I certainly didn’t hear him correctly. Maybe the pain from the metal rods piercing my leg has done something to me. It’s either that, or my ears are clogged.

“Yes, Alpha,” the guards chorus fiercely. My ears are working fine. They march behind. Kai crouches to my level, his eyes trailing over me. Different emotions hit me all at the same time.
