Chapter 4

She soon reached home and took everything out of the car and took it all to her room. An hour later and having arranged everything properly, she came down to help her mother. Entering the kitchen, she saw her mother starting to arrange the stuff she had asked Serena to buy. Without saying anything she went ahead and started helping her mother and soon she put away the last thing in the bag. Her mother turned to her, “Have you eaten yet?” Serena Answered, “Had an early dinner with Kai, mama”.  Liza hummed in acknowledgement and continued “If you are willing, can you please go and help Luna Maria? I know I shouldn’t be asking you of this since tomorrow you will already have no time sweetie. But the Luna is panicking right now as we are speaking. I would have asked your brother, but I believe we both know he would just probably do more damage if anything.”  It seems like even her mother was starting to fret. Serena nodded, “Oh I will go mother since I still have time and I will return around dinner. So please make sure to save me some of that desert that you made”.  Her mother laughed and readily agreed sending her on her way to the pack house.

She decided to walk there and decided to have a chat with her wolf. “Hello gorgeous” Her wolf opened her eyes in Serena’s head and made a noise which seemed like a wolf snort before she heard a very irritated Aria’s voice, “Narcissist” Serena retorted with a shocked why and Aria replied in a matter-of-fact tone, “We are one”. Serena sometimes failed to understand her wolf but as it seems Aria wasn’t in the best of moods today. So, Serena decided to just ask her, “What’s wrong? Are you in a need of a run? I know I haven’t shifted for a few days now, if you want, I can let you out after I am done helping Luna”. She could feel her wolfs extreme anxiousness now. “Yes, I feel like running, far away from here. Something is so going to go wrong tomorrow. I can feel it.” Aria said in a very cryptic tone which made Serena vary, her wolf wouldn’t say something like that without a reason, her instinct couldn’t be wrong. As she was almost at her destination, she decided to say something to comfort Aria, “Hey, it’s all going to be alright when I have you. If it helps, we can leave before the other pack arrives. And you know we are strong. We will be just fine. Okay?” She heard an affirmation from her wolf and decided to put this matter at the back of her mind for the time being as she entered through the doors of the pack house.

She entered the kitchen, hoping to find Luna maria there, and it was about time that she did, it felt like an eternity since entered the pack house anyway. She smelled something delicious as she walked towards where the Luna and the chef was standing.

“Oh, it smells heavenly, Luna. Can I have some please?” she asked as she finally reached them. The Luna turned towards and exclaimed, “Oh you are finally here. We were finalizing the dishes for tomorrow. If you would be so kind as to help me shortlist the dishes.”  She was sad that she couldn’t have more of all the food, that early dinner was turning out to be regret. It was without a doubt that she had said yes despite already having a full stomach. It took them a few minutes to decide on some of the cuisines but finally they decided that incase the other pack stayed longer, which turned out to be the case for some of the packs who overstayed their welcome, they will put the dishes on the next day’s menus. It was getting late, as she also checked the rest of the arrangements made for the pack just to make sure. She let Luna know before she went home, letting her know she had nothing to worry about their arrival.

As she walked out of the door, she asked her wolf about that run that they had planned. Aria was concerned that they might get late and make their mother worried.   “Well then you better make it fast. See if your speed has improved are you are still as slow as before. Let’s bet, you can’t cover the longest training route till our house in 15 mins?”  I said in a tone belittling my very own wolf. Aria scowled in all her wolf glory, “Yeah, even if I did cover it in time not like there is anyone who can keep track, considering your….” Aria trailed off, but she knew what her wolf meant, and that was offending. What she said wasn’t so much so since her wolf was fast. But it looks the bet is on. She shifted after removing her clothes and tying them in a knot around her neck, giving control to her wolf. Well, she won that bet as they reached outside their doorstep. “I won bitch.” I exclaimed happily, but of course she had to try and ruin it. Aria whined in her head while saying, “yeah by a second, rejoice you all”. I went to a changing stall nearest to our house, Alpha had them made all over the pack property for modesties sake and she was indebted.

She walked the distance to her house, all while bickering with Aria. She was sure at this point that had they been different entities they surely would have been unable to see eye to eye and would have pulled each other’s hair out. She sauntered inside and she informed her mother that she was home and would be down after taking a quick shower. And she did exactly that, leaving the birthday skincare shit till later. She went towards the kitchen to get some snacks; her mother was setting the table. “I will be in my room and since you made those delicious cookies, I will be snacking on them. I can spoil myself tonight, can’t I?” She spoke in a spoiled manner as she held her mothers’ hand and swung it back and forth. Her mother flicked her head and chortled, “Oh dear! What do I do with you spoiled children of mine, and then you will blame me latter for even following my hobby” She couldn’t deny that because that was for a fact the truth. Every time the three of them, father, daughter and son ever ate too much they blamed their mother’s cooking for it.  So, of course their actions had repercussions, now every time she made a few batches too more of anything at all, it was distributed or sent to the rest of the pack house. That way the rest of the pack got there turn to have her mother’s delicious food. And well that just meant that we got less appreciation, like those stupid people we train seriously just straight out change sides just because of her food. This has been an issue specially during the recent festivities as the team which my mother is on wins every single goddamn time.  And in the next training session we torture all those betrayers.

For a fact her mother set a tray full of treats for her.  Her father and brother walked in, her father going straight towards her mother landing a loud on the crown of her head. While her and Brandon never failed to be disgusted by the sight even though it is literally a routine and of course her mother blushed like every time.  Their parents never failed to amaze them, a love so deep, how and why is residing questions in both of their minds. Maybe it was the mate bond and that is why they both seemed to wish a love a little different and one that feels independent, which isn’t forced on them, literally. But they also respected the gift the goddess gave them.

They wished me an early birthday and I went upstairs with my tray full of delicious snacks. I would be left undisturbed until morning and then I know chaos shall ensue. Another thing in our home was that we do not disturb a person at night, even during birthdays unless it’s a matter of death. Like a person needs to get their full sleep-in order to celebrate their birthday properly. She went through a whole skin care routine while being in front of her Tv, her skin care lasted till the end of the movie, and it doesn’t take that much time but whatever.  And then she slept like a baby which was honestly unexpected.
