INICIAR SESIÓNLayla's POV
As I was stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection, I could barely recognize myself. The makeup artist was done fixing my makeup as I admired myself. I couldn’t believe I was finally getting married to Bastian after years of being in a relationship with him. At some point, I was worried that no one was going to turn up for the wedding but I was pleasantly surprised to see quite a crowd. Somehow Bastian convinced his secretary to be my maid of honor as Rachel wouldn't, and I had no friends.
I thought Bastian's secretary was going to be mean to me but she had been really helpful ever since I started planning this wedding, and I was glad that I was not going to get married without a maid of honor. That would have been truly embarrassing.
My father-in-law was to walk me down the aisle. My uncle told me he would rather jump off a cliff than to see me get married to Alpha Bastian. He had tried to destroy me so many times, treating me badly, and even beating me up just so that I can say no to the engagement. I can't wait to leave their house, and live happily with Bastian.
I know he must be excited we were finally getting married, and will soon have a family of our own; something I didn't have growing up.
The nervous feeling came back. I knew it wasn’t wedding jitters. Although Bastian has been treating me right, I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was bothering him, especially after he met that Alpha. I can't seem to explain it, but his presence bothered Bastian a lot.
When I had asked him about it, he brushed it off, stating that it was just Alpha rivalry. I knew he was withholding some things from me, but maybe after we tie the knot, he would be more open with me.
These past few days though, I have been seeing Alpha Aaron's face a lot , and that scared me. I had never dreamed about another man before, not once in my entire life. Yet now, just a misunderstanding with Alpha Aaron has me dreaming about him, imagining his handsome face and his oh-so beautiful physique.
This was new for me. If Bastian could read my thoughts, I'm sure he would cancel this wedding and throw me out. I couldn't afford that. He was the only one I had. Without him, I was basically a nobody which was why I was trying so hard to make it work.
I was madly in love with Bastian, no doubt, and I knew he felt the same way about me. He was the one who helped me get rid of all the voices in my head telling me that it wouldn't work out between us. He was the one who stood by my side when everyone else believed that he would leave me.
Every single day of my life, I fall in love with him all over again and I know it wasn't going to change. I am grateful to the moon goddess for sending him my way. If his driver didn't try to run me over on that rainy day, I don't think I would have met him. Even though he was the Alpha of the Pack, it wasn't easy to actually see him. That was the beginning of our love story.
Taking a deep breath, I straightened my wedding gown as I gazed out the window. The moon was beginning to appear.
I gulped in nervousness as I stepped out the door to see Bastian's father waiting for me. He smiled at me as I took his hand, walking down the aisle. Even though I was getting married, I was sad that there was no one representing me. No family, nothing.
I saw my uncle but he didn't look too happy. He kept scowling at me. What was even more surprising was the fact that Bastian was not waiting for me at the end of the aisle. He wasn't even present, only his Beta was, and there with an uneasy look on his face too.
I almost stumbled as paused for a second before resuming my steps. What was going on? Where was my fiancé?
"Uncle, where is Bastian?” I asked the man, voicing out my concern when we reached in front of the podium but he just smirked before walking away.
Why wasn't he here yet? He should have arrived before me. What was going on?
Everyone was beginning to murmur. Some of the wolves present were even laughing. I was left feeling embarrassed when the door was suddenly opened and Bastian walked in with Rachel, holding onto her so tightly, and extremely intimate. My cousin had a smug look on her face as they walked closer to me.
I took a step towards them, fear gripping me as I stared at the man who was supposed to be my husband.
"Bastian, what's going on? Why are you with her? You are getting married to me, so what are you doing with my cousin?" I asked, agitated.
I couldn't fathom what was going on. My heart was beginning to pound loudly, my pulse erratic. Was I in a dream or something?
Bastian rolled his eyes, and walked past me, grabbing the microphone from his Beta.
"I know all of you came here, speculating to witness the wedding of myself and Layla Lawson. Too bad for her though, she isn't the one I am getting married to."
Turning to me, Bastian continued. "I can say Layla, it has been torture playing a little romance with you,” he scoffed. The disgust in his tone couldn’t be hidden.
I must be in a sick dream. This couldn't be real. My mind was messed up. I felt as if I was doused with a bucket of cold, extremely chilly water. There was no way this was happening right now. There had to be a prank. Bastian was just playing with me. He can't be serious.
I held his hand gently, trying to talk to him to understand what went wrong.
"Babe, you are pulling my legs, right? Please Bastian, I love you. I can't even imagine a life without you. Don't do this to me. You can marry both of us, I don't mind. But please, just don't abandon me. Don't humiliate me this way. You promised me we will be together forever. You promised me that you love me, you even swore it," I pleaded with tears already streaming down my face.
I know at this point some of my makeup had started running down my face, I knew I must have looked hideous but I just couldn't care at the moment.
Bastian pushed me away roughly, and I fell. He scowled at me.
It was the final straw. I stood up immediately, not being able to withstand the laughter and scornful looks around.
"I guess I should give you a head start because if I catch up to you, Layla,” I heard him say. “I am going to kill you myself.”
I stepped back from him still dazed but I didn't need to be told twice as I ran as far away as I could from the wedding hall.
The weight of Sebastian’s threat was sounded heavily in my head as I ran. That wasn't the fiancé I knew.
Layla POVThe smoke was getting too chafing for me to handle; it felt as if I was being burnt in a hot cauldron. The more I tried to breathe, the more suffocating it became. It didn't help that someone had their hands clamped shut over my mouth, holding me back from making any sound. I tried to make out where I was, but everywhere was pitch black. The only thing I could hear was muffled voices. I tried to speak, but the person holding me back wouldn't let me. I tried to turn to see their face, but instead of seeing a stranger, all I was met with was a faceless figure, their stark white eyes staring back at me. Fear engulfed me. I tried to move away, but instead of letting me go, their hold tightened on me, cutting off my air supply."… I think I have had enough patience with you. The Pack doesn't deserve to have a weakling as an Alpha…" My eyes snapped toward the sound of the voice, but I couldn't see anyone."…You weren't chosen by the Moon goddess. The throne doesn't belong to you.
Layla's POV “Didn’t you stop to think why I would even date you in the first place. You are nothing but an orphan whose parents abandoned. You are the weakest wolf in this Pack. You can’t even defend yourself!” Bastian barked, his words cutting sharply like a razor. He was about done though. “Tell me, what exactly do you have to offer besides being a burden? What I expected from you isn’t manifesting. All these years, I was having a little bit of patience, hoping that you would reveal your true form to me but you just kept giving me flimsy excuses!”Bastian scoffed, then ran his fingers in his hair in frustration. “Read my lips Layla Lawson, I have never loved you. I have just been using you all these years. You are nothing but an embarrassment to me. Rachel is the one I am truly engaged to, and she is pregnant with my child. She is the one I am going to marry today, not you.” I ran blindly with no sense of direction as I remembered those words, and even his mannerisms when he said

Layla's POV Even with the number of years I have been with Bastian, I could never get used to the glamor. It wasn’t made for me. I always felt like I didn’t belong in it. No matter how many times Bastian tries to make me feel comfortable, I always feel alone and left out. But tonight, something was different. Maybe it was the fact that he invited different Alphas from various packs or the fact that Rachel was trying too hard to get his attention. I couldn’t seem to take my eyes off my fiancé. Just the way he carried himself, I knew he was meant to be Alpha. He was born for this. Although he has been acting extra clingy tonight. Bastian had barely left my side, not that I was complaining, but it was unlike him. He was indirectly claiming me in front of everyone present. I finally got the opportunity to slip away for fresh air onto the balcony, the night air especially soothing. I didn’t know I was that nervous. Maybe it was because of the wedding in two days. I wasn’t sure though.
Layla's POV I was still shaken up by Bastian's aggressiveness earlier. He has never had manhandled me before, not once ever since I knew him. Not even when I spilled coffee all over his presentation papers for one of his clients. Not once had he gotten angry at me. Why was he so worked up over Rachel’s constant defeat me? He wasn't the one whose ego was bruised, rather, it was me. He was always asking about my dreams too. I don't understand why he was so interested in my abilities as a wolf. I was no fool. I knew he was hiding something from me. I just don’t know what it was.He used to always be honest with me, but I am starting to question his sincerity towards me. He has been making some shady moves lately, always pressuring me to take up his offer about the laboratory experiment. Even his sayings that I am a different kind of breed. I need to understand the hidden meaning behind his words. The only problem was, I had no one to ask about that. He wouldn't tell me what he meant. B
Layla's POVI fell with a harsh thud, the harsh sun glaring down at me as I groaned in pain. I seriously hated training days ago. It was my worst day of the week, not to mention I was the most hated in this Pack. I had zero friends. All the girls in the Pack hated the fact that I was getting married to the Alpha. I had a wicked uncle and an annoying cousin. The only good thing happening in my life right now is the fact that I was going to be happily married to Alpha Bastian Hendery. He was the only one in my life who made me happy. If it wasn’t for him, I would have run away from Crimson Moon Pack a long time ago. At least planning our wedding has gotten my mind off some things. The snickering of other wolves snapped me out of my daydream. Suddenly, I was pulled up gently by a firm hand. Even though I felt my insides burning from that kick Rachel just gave me, but seeing Bastian’s face up-close was giving me butterflies in my stomach. He led me gently to my seat, kissing the top of my
