I stared at my phone screen, watching Ava as she finally came out to the public.

She was really taking a huge risk. Humans will not accept them, they needed a lot of convincing before they could even begin to trust you.

“And how are we sure that this isn't a filter? The news anchor asked, leaning back in his chair.

The moment I saw him enter, I knew he wasn't going to go easy on Ava, he needed much convincing.

“Then set up a meeting with me,” Ava said calmly. “And maybe you can confirm it yourself.”

She went offline immediately.

What was she planning?

“Caleb,” Thomas called, coming into my room. “Seems you've seen it already.” His gaze dropped to my phone.

“Yeah,” I nodded with a small smile.

If I need to find out more about the enemy, I need to be closer to him.

“Do you think she made the right decision?” He asked, dropping onto the couch.

“I don't really know man,” I murmured. “She might have her reasons.”

“You think so?”

“Yeah,” I replied, smiling fa

  • Double Claimed: Marked by Two    Crazy bitch, Gwendolyn

SELENE’S POVWe’ve been out here for over an hour, and neither Ava nor Riley has shown up, and worst of all, this Psycho I was paired with keeps on irritating me.“Fuck I'm going on,” She groaned, about to bust the door open.“We’re to stay outside and not go inside,” I warned, stepping in front of her.“So now you'll talk to me,” She said with a teasing smile.I rolled my eyes, walking back to the place where I stood earlier.“You know...”“Shhh,” I whispered, cutting her off as I pulled her into the darkness.“What is...”“Someone’s coming,” I whispered.Three men walked out from the other side of the building, all heavily built, their outfits could tell you that they weren't just normal guards.“Hey, I bet you ten bucks and those men's heads will roll on the ground,” Gwen said softly.“No,” I snapped but that was already late as she walked out to the men.“Hey boys,” she smirked, rolling her tongue. “Wanna play?”“I hate this bitch,” I murmured before stepping out from my hideout.

  • Double Claimed: Marked by Two    Bullets

RILEY’S POVThe man lunged at us, and Alec shoved me behind him as the first shot rang.Only if he knew I was specially trained for this.“Stay behind,” He warned, firing back at the man.One of the men came crashing down as the shot fired through his chest, a loud sharp cry escaping his mouth. The others spread out immediately, moving in slow and calculated strides. They weren't amateurs, they were really trained bodyguards.“Riley, behind you!” Alec barked.I didn't think, I turned sharply, pulling the trigger on the man.“Nice,” I murmured, smirking as I stared at his already limp body.Another charged, but Alec was fast. He slammed his elbow into the man's throat before firing. The body collapsed at his feet, his blood staining the floor.“Come on!” He roared at the remaining men. They came prepared, their bullets aiming at us as they fired but we weren't ready to give up.A sharp pain tore through my throat as one of the men grabbed me from behind, his gun aiming at me.I smirked

  • Double Claimed: Marked by Two    Double crossed

AVAI stared at the address, then back at my phone. The address they had sent was staring right at me, quiet, commanding and threatening.“Ready?” Xavier asked, placing his arm on my shoulder.“Yeah,” I nodded, exhaling sharply before stepping inside.Cameras hung at every angle, capturing every single movement.I kept my head straight, but my hands trembled, my chest pounded heavily but I wasn't ready to show fear.Out of the shadows, a guard stepped out, dressed in a plain black suit, his face stern as he glared at us.“This way,” He muttered, turning sharply into another hallway.I glanced at Xavier and he nodded, as we followed closely behind. The guard pushed open a door, paving the way for us as we stepped in. Just as I had predicted, Ella sat casually on one of the chairs, her legs crossed, her feet placed on the table. A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips, and her eyes glimmered under the faint light bulb.“Hello, Ava.” She said with a wide grin. “Glad to have you join us.

  • Double Claimed: Marked by Two    The plan

AVAThe day ran by too quickly, it's been four days since we came to Rome, and a day since I made the live broadcast, but there's been no response yet.Did that mean they didn't believe me?What if I had made a mistake by contacting the press? What if this was all part of Ella's plan to destroy our kind?I exhaled sharply, dragging my feet off the bed and walked towards the couch.I just want this to be over, everything, and I can finally have a peaceful, normal life.“Ava,” Ruby called sharply as she entered the room with Selene and Riley trailing behind. “You have a phone call.”“Who is it?” I asked, taking the phone from her and she shrugged.“No idea.”“Hello,” I said into the phone, but was met with Silence. I could barely hear the person's breathing.“Who is this?”“Ava,” the voice whispered before the line went dead.I pulled the phone away slowly, my brows knitted.“Who was that?” Selene asked.“No idea,” I murmured, shrugging.“Guys,” Emelia said urgently, barging in on us, “

  • Double Claimed: Marked by Two    A lover's quarrel

SELENEI sat on my bed, staring at my phone. I had placed a video call to Logan, and this was the second ring, and he wasn't picking up.“Where the hell are you, Logan?” I murmured, biting on my finger.“Hey,” His voice finally came through the phone.“You didn't answer?” I said, rolling my eyes.“Was in a meeting,” He replied.“Why?” I asked.“Ava.”“You’ve seen it?” I asked.“Do you think she's doing the right thing?” He asked.“It’s up to her,” I said calmly. “But whatever she's planning on doing, I trust her.”Then silence fell, and none of us spoke. I could feel his stare on me. I could sense the meaning in the quietness of the room, and I could tell that he had a thousand questions to ask.“Are you okay?” He finally asked, breaking the silence.“Yeah,” I said with a nod.“I miss you,” he admitted.I couldn't help but blush at what he said.“Do you?” He asked.I nodded, shyly, turning my face away from the camera.“When will you be back?”“Don’t know yet, but soon. We need to pre
