Clara and Riana were sitting on a chair in the waiting room at the local police station. They were waiting for the officer in charge to show up and write the report of the incident that happened at the bar. Clara was becoming more and more impatient as time went by. She would let out a groan once in a while and also constantly tapping her foot on the ground with pure irritation and stress.

On the other hand, Riana was comparatively calm and quiet. She was sitting with her eyes closed and her hands on her lap. The corner of her white skirt was a little drenched in blood, so as the sleeves of her sky blue top. Everyone looked at her while passing by, thinking that she might need medical attention immediately. But the blood on her clothes wasn't hers. They were the waiters who saved them and in her hand, she held something that also belonged to the waiter, a metal bracelet.

After the waiter’s unconscious body was taken away by the ambulance, Riana was still standing there at the crime scene. Then she noticed something in the scattered blood on the floor. She crouched down and picked up the thing. It was a simple plain metal bracelet where something was carved, a simple letter, V.

“I'm sorry for the wait,” said the officer in charge as he entered the waiting room where Riana and Clara were waiting.

“Miss Riana if you don't mind I'd like to know exactly what happened and how.” said the officer after sitting on the chair on the other side of the white table facing Clara and Riana.

“I'll tell you what happened, THAT PSYCHO TRIED TO KILL MY SISTER. First, he tried to choke her to death, and when he failed he tried to kill her by smashing a wine bottle on her head.” Clara shouted. But Riana was still quiet and her eyes were still closed as if she was peacefully sleeping. The police tried to calm down Clara who continued shouting. “What's there to ask? Just put that bastard in jail for eternity for attempted murder.”

“Miss please calm down, you can't shout like that in a police station. Besides, we have to get statements from Miss Riana to conclude it as attempted murder. You can't just claim that like that.”

“WHAT!!!! What kind of police are you? Shouldn't you be consoling us instead of taking sides with that bastard? Besides, can't you see that my sister is so terrified that she is not able to talk? And everyone at the bar witnessed how that freak tried to kill my sister. What more evidence do you need?” Clara stood up in rage.

“Miss please calm down, ok we will investigate the matters but please calm down.” the young officer was having difficulty dealing with the furious Clara.

Then Riana opened her eyes and calmly said, “Clara wait outside, you are making a scene.”

“But-” Riana cut her off and looked at her with an assuring smile. “I'll be okay, don't worry.”

Clara couldn't say anything and she slowly walked outside.

“Thank you, Miss Riana. You can talk when you are ready.”

Riana nodded as she understood and started talking. After hearing the whole story from Riana, the officer summarized the story and asked if he was right.

“So when you cursed at him and told him to go away, that’s when he attacked you?”

Riana nodded in an affirmative. “Looking that you are not injured in any way this case will be concluded as an assault influenced by alcohol. So if you want you can file a case or have a settlement. But I highly doubt if your younger sister will let you settle that easily.” the officer smiled.

“What about the waiter who got injured?”

Riana asked in a plain voice.

“Well as he got injured while trying to save you he can't file a complaint. But if you decide to file a lawsuit then he can be a crucial witness.” The police explained.

“I understand,” Riana was disappointed in Law and yet again. Just because someone helped her and took the hit instead of her the case turned from 100 to 00. If she was injured and then the case would've automatically turned into an injury and without even question the man would've gotten his punishment no matter how drunk he was. But now, just because she wasn't hurt, someone else was hurt instead of her, the case turned into a mere assault and there’s a question of whether he was in his right mind or not. And the case can even be settled if the victim wants and the culprit can go around just by giving some money. It's the rule of the unfair world.

“I am willing to settle as long as he is willing to pay the compensation for the bar and the injured waiter.” and with that Riana stood up from her seat and stomped out from the waiting room.

Clara was impatiently waiting for her sister to come out. When she came out she literally jumped at her and almost drowned her in the flood of questions.

“What happened? What did he ask? Did he force you to tell something? Was he rude to you? Did he take the freak's side again? Will they punish him properly? What will happen to the freak?”

“Clara calm down.” Said Riana grabbing both shoulders of the younger with her hands.

“Ok at least tell me this,” Clara said in a low tone. “Are you ok?” Her eyes were now all teary. Riana nodded as a reply with an assuring smile. And then Clara couldn't hold back anymore. She tightly hugged her and burst into tears.

“I was so afraid when I saw that man choking you on the floor. It was like my world collapsed before my eyes.” Clara cried in Riana's embrace while Riana patted her head to console her.

“Anderson, look.” Mr. Gray suddenly exclaimed.

He was holding a bunch of open files in his hand and he brought them to Mr. Anderson’s desk.

“Look here,” said Mr. Gary as he pointed something at the files.

Mr. Watson and Mr. Brown both volunteered on a health camp for the children about two years ago which was arranged by the hospital Dr. Jonson used to work at. And moreover, Dr. Robert Jonson was the head doctor of the camp.” Mr. Gray showed him a group picture where in the middle Dr. Robert Jonson was standing and beside him, the other two victims were standing along with many other doctors, nurses, and volunteers.

“So it means those three did know each other,” said Mr. Anderson. “It's likely possible that the killer is also hiding within this picture and the story of the camp.” He remarked.

“So we have to know what happened at that volunteer health camp,” Stefan said after hearing the conversation between Mr. Grey and Mr. Anderson.

All nodded in agreement. After all this time they finally found a lead. It looked like luck was finally on their side.

-------------------

A glimmer of sunlight sneaked through the closed curtains and shone over the eyes of the sleeping figure making her eyes slowly open.

Her green iris was illuminating even more with the touch of the sunlight. She slowly sat up and then climbed down from her comfortable bed. After climbing down the first thing she did was opening up the curtains and let the sunlight light up her whole room.

Her room wasn't that special even though it was big, it was mostly empty. There were only a few pieces of furniture in there which were the least unnecessary. A King-sized bed, a wardrobe, and a dressing table with a full view mirror which all were made of wood.

After opening the curtains she went to the attached bathroom and to wash up. She took off her black silky night robe and put them in the basket beside the washing machine where her bloody outfit from last night also lied.

She jumped into the bathtub filled with hot water. People say showering time was the best time for thinking and she was no different than others. She opened the shower to let her brunette hair soak and along with that to cool down the head.

“The thoughts of yesterday night were flowing into her head over and over again, especially the thought of that guy who spoiled her perfect plan to make the certain drunken man rot in jail just to become some sort of hero. Nowadays who even have time to be a hero. Besides, a hero can't save the innocent or bring justice now. Only money and power can. Now money and power are the truth and the person who holds the most amount of money is the most innocent person of all. The guy was a fool if he thought that sacrificing himself so thoughtlessly, made him a hero. The only thing he did was messing up her flawless plan and getting hurt in the process. Now the world doesn't need some foolish hero because only a devil has the power to punish another devil.

After finishing her long shower and finally cooling down her head she came out of the bathroom wearing a white bathrobe and went to the kitchen downstairs. She took out a box of chocolate cereal and a carton of milk. She poured the cereal into a white glass bowl and then poured milk on it. Holding the bowl of cereal in her hand she walked towards the living room. She sat on the wooden sofa across the led tv hanging on the wall and turned on the device. Thanks to technology even in the middle of nowhere she could watch tv and have a Netflix series marathon if she wanted. Just as she turned it on a voice of a lady was heard who was anchoring the news.

“The police confirmed the three murders to be a serial murder but they suspect that the murder was done by someone who held a deep grudge against the three deceased. It is also suspected that the murderer is a doctor because of his unique way of killing the victims. So, the police gave the murderer the code name Dr. Killer. Who is this Dr. Killer and why is he killing these innocent people? And where our world is standing now? The very lesson that should be saving lives is now taking them instead. The general people are panicking over-” she turned off the tv because of the boring news. The only thing interesting in the news was the new code name they had given her, Dr. Killer. It has a nice ring to it and she liked it.
