Chapter 9: Queen Adrianne the purple Witch

Third person POV:

“What are you thinking” King Sargon said looking at Jasmine who was lost in her thought “I… I how did I have this?” Jasmine said and showed her right hand wrist to King Sargon who kept staring at her with expressionless face “Are you playing some trick on us Slave?”King Sargon said “What are you trying to show?” he added “Here … this rune…” Jasmine added and shifted her gaze to General Nolan who too was staring at her with expressionless face “There is nothing on your wrist slave” General Nolan said.

Jasmine then realized it was only her who was able to see dragon wing rune on her wrist.

“Now, what are we going you going to do about General Nolan poison?” King Sargon questioned Jasmine “First I need to my grandmother medicine shop, there are some books which might have information regards to cure for Kurumora Poison” Jasmine replied “Hmm…. you go ahead, I’ll ask commander Philip to send you back to castle” King Sargon said and Jasmine rushed back to her tent.

Couple of minutes later she wore her brown cape and waited outside army troop gates for Commander Philip to arrive.

Jasmine POV:

It’s still early morning however it’s been almost hour now that I am waiting for Commander Philip at gates of our army troop.

I was busy thinking of walking all the way towards castle when suddenly I heard hoarse footstep marching towards me from behind, I felt content sensing commander Philip had finally arrived but my happiness sunk down when I saw King Sargon heading towards my direction on his midnight hoarse and wearing olive green tunic with black trousers and a sword hanging on his right side, also general Nolan was with him on his brown horse.

The moment I them marching towards me I bowed down my head and turned my gaze towards ground, from corner of my eyes I could see four foot of white sock hoarse as my ears were open to horse shoe rustling on ground.

“Hop on” King Sargon suddenly order in his voice, as a reflex I instantly turned my head up only to look at his two sharp eyes fixed on me “King.. I.. “ I shuttered on my word when “Commander Philip is working on few things for me, so there is no way he can give you a ride” King Sargon said in his calmed voice “Oh…” I said turning my head down “Then, I should walk, my king….. because it would be highly inappropriate for a slave to ride with their king on his horse ” I said in my calmed yet flustered voice and waited patiently for king Sargon to leave “Are you trying to defy my order” he quickly replied sounding, hearing which I felt sweat beads forming on my forehead “No.. no absolutely not my king” I quickly replied by shaking my head from side to side “Then do as I say, General Nolan is in pain and I do not wish to make him suffer more because of you stubbornness” he said in firm yet in calmed voice.

I was bit reluctant but then I saw facial expression of general Nolan, his face was blank as iron but his forehead was covered in sweat, his eyes looked bloodshot.

I took couple of deep breath to calm my throbbing heartbeats and quietly walked towards king horse, I was about to sit behind when “Sit in front” King Sargon suddenly ordered.

‘NO.. NO.. NO… No… LORD’ I said in my mind but there was nothing I could do in this situation.

Half heartily I walked in front and gently kept my right foot on metal stirrups and allowed myself to lift up and sit properly on hard leather saddle with my legs on either side of horse, it felt extremely awful however slouch a little in order to maintain possible distance between king and me but all my efforts went into vein as King harshly tucked leather bridle of his hoarse which made him run ahead with tremendous speed.

King Sargon horse was one of the fastest horses of our kingdom, my cousin brother Maximus had shared this information with me and today I lived his words, indeed king Sargon horse was one of fastest hoarse because I was totally sunk back on hard chest of King Sargon because of its speed.

It took merely 30 minutes for us to reach at my grandmother medicine shop, King Sargon and general both squinted looking at my shop miserable condition, it looked little old and dusty, I haven’t returned here in last two years so it was normal for any place to look dusty.

“Is this your shop? Do you have knowledge on medicine?” General Nolan questioned me getting down from his horse.

I simply nodded, opened the door and let them both in, I turned to face them and said “I would have offered you a tea but this place was close from past two year….”

“Its.. fi..” General Nolan was saying something when King Sargon scoffed and said “Do you think we will even bother to have water at slave house”.

I felt little embarrassed at kings word but I slid his insult, I cleaned dust of two chairs and asked them to take a seat meanwhile I went back to my old room in shop to find out grandmother book, which I believe was having Kurumora Poision records.

After searching for minutes I found a book on poison and their treatment, I read page where information of Kurumora Poision was mentioned.

I read entire method written by my grandmother for treating Kurumora Poision but the more I read, the more painfully and troublesome it sound.

Although the solution was not easy, but it was strange for me to perform it on someone like general Nolan since I had zero experience in it, I was merely helper for preparing medicine and searching herb for my grandmother, I had seen her treating people but I never was part of her treatment.

“Huh… I can at least try” I cheered up myself and went out.

“General Nolan, please take of your clothes and lie down” I said placing a one person floor mat.

General Nolan took off his white tunic along with his sword and placed them afar as he himself lied down on floor mat on his stomach.

I carefully observed his entire wound and the small red colored triangle inside circle that was positioned in between.

His scar on back was made up of horrible wounds; it looked like someone created it by digging their their sharp finger nails in his skin. His wound was large but it wasn’t bleeding which mean there was still hope to cure it.

As per my grandmother book Kurumora Poision is one of painful poison but General Nolan was calmed, his body was rotting from inside yet he maintained still posture.

I gently trailed my finger on the triangle and circle symbol on his back when suddenly I heard a low growl “What are you doing?” King Sargon suddenly questioned me in his growling voice “I need to check it before treating it!” I replied and continued with my work “How do you know, it’s not contagious, what if you are infected?” he again questioned me reaching for my hand back “This is not contagious because…. its Sorceresscraft” I replied pulling back my hand.

“Sorceresscraft?” both King and General said in unison and disbelief, I nodded and showed them my grandmother book.

“As per this book only a powerful Sorceress who has some special power can do this kind of Sorceress craft” I replied

As we were in between our conversation general Nolan again winced in pain and small trail of blood started oozing out of his mouth, his forehead got covered in sweat beads  “We must hurry, we need to treat it before it spread to your head” I hastily said.

“Only a poison can beat another poison” I said “We need five black poisonous scorpions in order to remove all Kurumora Poison” I added.

It was early afternoon King Sargon used his power and managed buy five poisonous black scorpion from local vendor.

I even prepared a yellow liquid which is mixture of special herbs, medicine and flower as per instruction mentioned in book and placed it in a big bowl, then placed all five black scorpion inside it, all five scorpion drank that liquid in no time and their colored changed from black to yellow.

Then I carefully placed all yellow scorpions on general back, they instant all started piercing his skin with their poisonous tail.

Genarl Nolan gave a grunt, he was in so much pain that his sweat ran down like raindrops, his body quivered and trembled, blue vein stoop out on his arm.

“Nolan…” King Sargon said looking at general painful face.

“I know it painful but stay right there, you are doing great” I said by gently touching his arm.

Higher general Nolan was really a tough man, curing process was so painful but not a single word was said by him.

An hour later, I saw General Nolan back was looking normal also the color of all yellow scorpions was now turned into deep purple, which was indication that they had sucked all poison and now came the tricky part for me.

I tried to remove all scorpion of general back but they were strong because of this process but I could not let them stay on general back because as per book instruction Kurumora Poision can again travel back to its host body if scorpions are not removed in time.

King Sargon saw my struggle and decided to help, he then used two bamboo stick to lift scorpions, it was difficulty but very soon we managed to get them all off general back, we packed all scorpion in a wooden box.

“Now what?” King Sargon questioned me with worried face “wait here” I replied went to our old medicinal herb shelf and brought two small sealed containers ‘Night Grass juice’ and made general drink them all, night grass juice are considered as irritant for poison, the instant warm ‘Night Grass juice’ went inside he stared puking out black and dead purple colored worms right in front of our eyes.

I felt like I was going to thrown up but I hold back when I saw general Nolan was about to faint but luckily King Sargon hold him in position and let him puke everything out.

Couple of minute later King Sargon was holding fainted general Nolan in his arm, seeing which I quickly laid another floor mat and helped him to place him on it.

Once done I asked king Sargon to burn all five scorpion outside, which he did in our backyard because there was now Kurumora Poison inside their body, if they are not burn, people who touch them would be poisoned.

In meantime I clean all blood of my floor and even of my clothes.

Having dealt with scorpion King Sargon returned back to shop, it was early in evening; sun was setting down when suddenly I heard my stomach grumbled loudly.

General Nolan was still unconscious and King Sargon was looking after him hence I planned on going out to buy some food, when suddenly King Sargon said “Jasmine…” and I turned back “Yes” I said bowing my head down but he suddenly walked towards me and closed gap in between our bodies and lifted my chin up.
