Chapter Eleven
“Ahhhh!”
A loud scream woke me up from my dream. When I looked around, all I could see were the others with who I had set camp. The man I guard just glanced back at me. In his eyes, I saw nothing. There was no spark, they were just empty and cold.
‘Will I end up like this? Is this what surviving means? To become detached from the world..is this what I want?’
“It is rude to stare at people you know.”
I looked away, to the floor as I heard him. Then, still feeling embarrassed, I began to brush the dust around that was on the floor.
“Dude, if you are just going to do that. Take guard duty and let me sleep.&

“Uhh…”As I slowly came back to my senses, I noticed that I was no longer in the wagon, but had at some point in time been moved outside. I was in the dirt.As I slowly got up, I spat some dirt out, that had somehow found its way inside of my mouth. Behind that shield were two interlocking spears. Apart from that, there was some kind of writing below the image, but I had no idea what any of it meant. This was the first time in this place, that I had encountered this. In fact, as I thought it seems like I was incredibly lucky to not have run into this kind of problem before.

After the soldier had left, I got up and sat down on the left-hand side of the wagon. The hard surface of the seat, not at all feeling comfortable. Leading to me shuffling and moving around for a few minutes trying to at least find some sort of comfort on the seat. In the end, I just gave up and focused on the roll in my hand.Then I after looking over it and wiping off the little bit of wood that gotten caught into the roll as it rolled across the wagon. Then I bounced up again as the wagon I was on went another bump, with that bump though, the screaming had stopped. As I looked around to try and see what the sudden screaming was about. I heard someone who was at the back of the wagon throw up. I looked other confused as to why they would so suddenly throw up. By the time that they had gotten ahold of themselves and were ready to talk we had already moved on a bit, and the putrid smell of their vomit had started to waft around. With the collar being clamped onto my neck I lost the will power to move my body completely. I just layed there. We had been marching for what felt like hours now. Well it was not marching, well the soldiers were. The survivors were more just walking together as well all were just following the lead of the officers.
