Chapter 49: Guilty and Shame

Lycus Lewis opened his eyes slowly. He found himself in his own room in the dark. It was still dark, a sign that the day had not changed. He felt his body and found himself topless. His whole body felt limp, but the painful pain in his body had disappeared. Lycus opened his blanket and looked down at his bare chest. The tendrils of the black energy that had been poisoning him were gone. The moment before he passed out, his chest ached and burned, as if he was going to explode at any moment. At that moment, the pain in his chest had disappeared. Lycus looked at his arm and saw that the tendrils of black energy in his hand had disappeared.
