Alicia got caught running in the back door by the mistress of the manor. She smacked her hard across her face. “Where have you been? You are late!” Rosalie Richwood stood with her hands on her hips angrily expecting an answer.
“I am sorry, My Lady. I went to take my bath in the stream, and I found an injured animal. I had to help,” she explained, holding her stinging face. “Get busy getting breakfast ready and get to your chores. You and those blasted animals. Get it through your head, you are not a doctor. You are a slave, an orphan, trash is all you will ever be,” the woman spat. “Yes, My Lady,” Alicia said, holding her head down to hide the tears forming in her eyes. She was used to the insults and the slaps, but that didn’t keep the words from hurting her. Alicia had taken a fall many years ago when she was but a child of eight. She remembered that her city was under attack, and she had run. She fell onto the rocks, and she could not climb back up. That is when the dragon had picked her up and carried her to safety far away in another town. Alicia could not remember where she was from or who her parents were. All she could remember was running, the fall, and the beautiful dragon that carried her to safety. He had the same colorings as the injured one from yesterday. Alicia wondered if it was possible this was the same dragon from years ago. She smiled at the thought, serving the family their breakfast. Everyone feared dragons, calling them demons, but she alone knew one dragon that had saved her life. As soon as her chores were done, she put some vegetable soup in a container and ran out to the place where her dragon patient lay. To her disappointment, he was not there. “Dragon, dragon, I brought you some food,” she called, hoping that he was somewhere nearby. Alicia knew that he was severely injured and doubted that he could fly. “It’s okay, Dragon. I am a friend. You don’t have to fear me,” Alicia assured him. Corithias was hungry, but he decided since she trusted him as the dragon, he would transform before going to her. He did not think his wing was healed enough to fly, so he walked around the riverbank so she could see him. Alicia smiled and ran to the dragon, happy to see that he was getting stronger. “I did not know if dragons were meat eaters or not, so I just made you a vegetable soup without meat. I hope you like it,” she said, opening the bowl for him. Corithias did like meat, but the vegetables were incredibly good in the broth she made. He did not know how else to thank her, so he gently licked her hand. Alicia smiled and pet the dragon’s snout, looking into his blue eyes. She was sure of it now. This was the same dragon who saved her so many years ago. “I know you. I remember the day you picked me up from the rocks and got me to safety. I would have surely been killed had they found me that day. I lost all memory of my city and who I am or of my parents that day. But I remember you. Thank you for saving me that day. I am glad I was able to repay the kindness,” she told the dragon, studying his face. The dragon licked her face and Alicia giggled, kissing him on the snout. “Friends we shall be my dragon. Maybe one day, when you are well, you can take me for a ride high up in the clouds? “This place is not kind to me. I am treated as a slave and told I am nothing but worthless trash. But I know better. I know that with a friend like you, I have good things in my future. You give me hope, my friend,” she said, resting against the dragon’s neck. Corithias enjoyed the feel of the girl resting against him. No human had ever trusted him so much. He wished he could take her home with him. But would it be any better for her there? He wondered. His people, the dragoniths, did not trust humans. Many of their kind had been killed by humans, so he was sure they would not accept her. “I must go before I get in trouble, friend,” she said, petting him once more. “I will bring you some food in the morning. Keep hidden from the hunters,” she directed before running back through the woods. Corithias watched her until he could not see her again, wishing he was able to carry her away to a place where they would both be safe, wishing he could show her his human form. He wanted to hold his sweet princess in his arms and kiss her soft lips. “What am I thinking!” He scolded himself. “She would run away in fear if I showed her my human form. No, she trusts the dragon. The dragon is her friend. That is who I will be to her…for now,” he decided, talking to himself.King Corithias paced back and forth, hearing his wife screaming out in pain. Tiegres and Geoffrey kept him company, and tried to calm him, but he would not settle down at all while the Queen was in labor. Queen Vashti, Grandmother Adelaide, Natalie and Lauren, the Queen’s personal attendants, and two midwives were in the room all praying the birth would come soon. The baby was coming breach and was in distress. Adelaide stepped up and asked the midwives to move out of the way. She alone knew how to fascilitate a breech birth. “Sweetie this is going to hurt, so you may need that orange flame of yours to help you while I turn this little boy around,” she said. “Boy? It’s a boy! We have a prince!” Queen Vashti exclaimed, hugging Alicia as she burst into a warm orange glow, holding her mother in law’s hand tightly as she prepared for the baby to be turned. She screamed out one last time as the baby was turned and came out head first, squalling. Adelaide smiled proudly as she han
The Rogue Kingdom was willing to negotiate terms. They let The Bellairiah Royal guards and Farouk and his wife return home safely. All human servants were allowed to go with them that desired to go. The rogues agreed to stay in their own kingdom and not attack any other kingdoms. They were allowed to peacefully trade goods with other kingdoms, but they no longer could ravage and take what they wanted. If they disobey, they would suffer severe consequences at the hands of Bellairiah rule. General Alvarez agreed to the terms. He would be ruler of Valtaren Valley Kingdom from now on, and he vowed they would no longer live as rogues, but live peacefully with all nine kingdoms of the universe.Princess Alicia sent a letter to her brother with thirty Angus cattle and fifty sheep asking if they could take all the human hostages as members of their community. Aristotle sent back a letter stating that they would be glad to welcome the people to their kingdom, and thanked them for their
Six months had passed since their trip to Lithuacia Kingdom to visit family. Alicia was very pregnant and more beautiful than ever with a pink glow to her. Corithias was so proud, boasting about his son. Alicia kept reminding him it could very well be a daughter. The King and Queen were equally as excited over the expected Prince or Princess. A nursery was already being prepared for the Royal infant. All the castle staff was all abuzz waiting for the little one. The Royal seamstresses had been busy making maternity dresses for the Princess and making outfits for the baby. Grandmother had been busy crocheting; the quilting club was making quilts. Carpenters were making nursery furniture, painters and artists were designing the nursery walls. It seemed the Royal baby had become the number one priority on everyone’s minds these days. Lauren and Natalie, the Princess’s personal assistants enjoyed feeling the baby kick, something that was new to both girls. Alicia loved her young lad

The Prince and Princess danced, spinning around with perfect timing to each other’s steps. Cory dipped Alicia and kissed his lovely bride. The King and Queen danced beside them. The Queen watched the Prince and Princess and was so happy. Everything had gone perfectly. They had won the battle; the new princess was crowned. All that awaited the happy couple was the consummation of their marriage, and then to wait for the birth of the royal heir, she thought. Prince Corithias danced with his mother and then his grandmother. Princess Alicia danced with the king and then Uncle Renik scooped her up in his arms. Alicia thought it strange that he danced out onto the balcony with her. Suddenly, he put a cloth to her face soaked in Chloroform and she passed out cold. Then, he transformed and carried her off. No one noticed at first, but then the prince asked where the princess was, and then they all started searching for her. He had a good ten minutes lead on them. All the soldiers were
Once Alicia had checked every soldier and healed their wounds, the whole kingdom was ready to celebrate with their new princess at the royal wedding. Everyone came together and put things back in order to prepare for the wedding ceremony. This wedding was not just about two people in love. This wedding meant the kingdom was getting a princess who could not only fight, but she could heal. The whole community was excited. The maids Lauren and Natalie, Alicia’s personal assistants, helped her get ready in her wedding gown. The Queen came to see the bride before the wedding and bring her a gift. Queen Vashti stood behind Alicia and put a beautiful curtain necklace of silver, pearls, and diamonds on the princess. They both looked in the mirror, admiring her beauty. King Jaffa straightened the prince’s jacket and looked at him with pride. The big man hugged his son with huge arms that were once the most powerful in the land. He was old and weak now, with a failing heart. One day his
Cory excused himself to go retrieve the princess himself. He knocked on her door after Tiegres unlocked it. “Come in,” she said, grabbing her robe. Cory went in as she was pulling the robe on her shoulders, giving him a delightful view of her in nothing but a silk gown. He groaned deeply at the sight. “Did you just growl at me?” Alicia asked, cocking her head, and looking at him curiously. Before she knew what was going on, he swooped her up in his arms and fell down on the bed with her. Alicia squealed and giggled as he quickly pounced upon her. His blue eyes turned orange as he began to lick at her neck. Alicia burst into a cool blue flame as he tantalized her. With breathless anticipation, he began to peel off her robe. “Cory…we should wait until we are married,” Alicia said, feeling his racing heartbeat under the palm of her hand that rested on his chest. He lowered his head down upon hers, groaning again before sitting up on the side of the bed. “I am sorry, Sweetheart, but
Prince Corithias sat in the grand hall drinking coffee with the King and Queen and Geoffrey waiting for word from his spies. Travis flew in from the open French doors, carrying Judas and dropping him at Cory’s feet. “Your Highness, we followed this spy to the Rogue Kingdom. He made an alliance with King Cyrus, and they plan to attack at dawn,” Travis said. Farouk stood in military stance with his chin lifted. “Good job, men. Get some food and take a nap. I want you both to be rested and ready for battle when they come,” Cory said calmly. Prince Corithias swung around and kicked Judas in the teeth. Grabbing him by the throat, he raised the man up with one strong arm, having him dangling in air and turning beet red without oxygen. “How dare you defy the throne!” The prince shouted, his neck and temple veins throbbing with anger. “Take this traitor to the dungeon and have Lucius give him a beating to remember before I kill him with my bare hands,” he said, throwing Judas at Geof
