Chapter Six
I woke just before the sun watching as the moon turns transparent. Yawning I stretch my arms above my head. I turn around noticing Flavius is not in bed. Sitting the rest of the way up I look around the room. My eyes land on Flavius and I watch as he stands in the mountain entrance staring out at the sky.
Pulling myself from the bed I approach him. Walking up behind him I wrap my arms around his waist placing my head on his shoulder.
"Good morning," I drawl.
Flavius turns his head placing a kiss on my forehead.
"Mornin," he greets gruffly.
"It will take a couple of days to reach the territory of the Horde of Fates so be prepared," I tell him.

"You we're expecting us?" I ask puzzled. "Please come in and settle then we will talk," Nathalia says. The sisters lead us through the mountain showing us to our chambers. Once our gear is safely put up they take us to another part of the mountain. The caverns expand as if they were natures ballroom. The smooth stone naturally reflects the torch fires helping to light the path. My feet tingle at the odd sensation of the warm stone floor. I had not expected it to be so warm in here. They take us into a small meeting room with a large round table in the center. There are various maps hanging from the walls. We take seats at the table. "How did you know we were coming?" I question.
Dragon's Blood (Book Two) Chapter Eight
After a couple of hours pass, we are finally called for dinner where we are introduced to the rest of the horde. Nathalia's and Alec's horde is very small when compared to my own. But you can tell the strength of their warriors with one glance. When Nathalia and Alec enter the dining hall they are accompanied by a young werewolf. He is dressed in a white tunic with a bearskin cloak draped over his shoulders. A large battle-ax is strapped to his back. His long blonde hair is done up in five braids. Three small braids are positioned at the top of his head and two thicker ones line the sides of his head. He has a beard that is short on the sides but long and braided at the chin. His icy blue eyes meet mine as he flashes me a cool smile. The werewolf approaches us taking a seat in front of me with Nathalia and Alec on either side of him.
Dragon's Blood (Book Two) Chapter Nine
I tighten the straps on Vega's saddle checking one last time to make sure everything is securely tied on. Patting Vega with a satisfied smile I turn toward Flavius. "We are ready to set out," I tell him. He nods climbing onto Vega's back, "Alright let's head out." I watch as all the dragons of the Horde of Fates descend the mountain into the frosty sky. Glancing over at Flavius I see him also leave the mountain. Fazing I follow the others. As we burst through the barrier around the mountain frigid air nips at my scales while snow blurs my vision.
Dragon's Blood (Book Two) Chapter Ten
Flavius and I enter the chambers the twins are currently residing in. The cavern is lit dimly with torches. While the setting sun lets in flecks of violet light through the cave opening. "Have you settled in well?" I ask the sisters. "Your home is very comfortable, " Nathalia replies with a light shake of her head. "I was surprised the Perilous mountain is much larger than our home," Alec comments. "I had heard from my grandfather that due to the location and size of the mountain it was once used as a military base during the reign of king Sindre," I say. "I believe that back in those times this mountain was referred to as the Lochness Fortress. Lochness was a great military leader so king Sindre honored him by naming the fortress after him," Nathalia mentions. I raise an eyebrow in surprise. "Grandfather never mentioned that this place was once named after him," I say. "Lochness battled a long time to break free from king Sindre's oppress

Flavius lays across the expanse of our bed Vega resting behind him. He grasps a book delicately between his fingers and he read its content. I help but let my eyes wander across his focused figure trying to commit the scene to memory. Midday light shown on his face lightening his deep brown eyes to almost amber. "I find it rather hard to focus with you staring so intently," Flavius mumbles never looking up from the book. I laugh laying at the foot of the bed. "I'm simply admiring how you look while reading," I say. Sitting up straight Flavius pats the spot next to him. "You might enjoy it more if you came over here," he offers. I smile at his words crawling across the bed I settle in next to him. Placing my head on his shoulder I peer into the book he's been reading. "I had wondered what had caught your attention. I never thought you were the type to read about Unicorns," I comment. "Unlike you, I don't have family alive old enough to
Dragon's Blood (Book Two) Chapter Twelve
After several days of constant travel, the Fae Forest comes into view. Swooping down I land at the forest entrance the others close behind me. I slip on a loose pair of leather trousers and a white tunic. My feet sink into the damp earth below and I relish in the cool feeling. The path at my feet fades into the distance as it leads into the dark forest. A chill blows in from the forest and I shiver. Large willow trees line the dark path of the woods their branches hanging low as if ready to kiss the ground. The silence emanating from the woods leaves me wondering. It is so quiet not even the bird's crow and not even the wind whispers against the trees. I turn to face the twins. "Are you sure this is the right place?" I ask. Nathalia nods, "This is merely the entrance. What you are seeing is not the real forest but a glamor. The Fae protect the forest using powerful magic so you cannot see the true forest unless they allow you to." "What're we supposed to do
Dragon's Blood (Book Two) Chapter Thirteen
Golden light illuminates the green shrubs sprouting from the forest floor. Mushrooms grow under the shady roof of the willow trees. The wispy moss hanging from the trees sways from a light breeze. I was in awe of the size and majesty of the trees. Their twisted arms rose ever upwards providing a home for the orchestra of birds around us. The sprite flutters in front of us as a guide through the woods. A glowing light emanates from her. As we continue through the forest the path seems to widen. Soon we reach a large canopy of ivy leading to an open threshold. The threshold is made from twisting trees. Willow and ashen oak trees have grown woven together forming a large castle. Tending to the fern and flora sprouting from the woodland castle is hundreds of sprite. They flit around offering the greenery boundless magic to grow. We walk under the awning of ivy leading to the castle entrance. The once earthy path is now many tree branches interlaced with a vibrant layer of moss

I take a deep breath trying to think of the best way to answer. Nefertari's dark eyes bore into mine. The intense stare causes me to shiver. Sitting up straighter I catch her gaze, inhaling deeply. "War has been declared on my horde. I am afraid allies are in short supply. You aided my grandfather during The Fires. I am here to once again request your support," I confidently state. A smile pulls at the edges of Nefertari's lips. She leans back on her throne watching us for a moment. Her eyes scan over each and everyone one of us before she speaks. "You remind me a lot of Lochness. Calm and confident. However, you seem to be lacking an explanation. Why would I agree to help your horde with no context?" She inquires. Her words catch me off guard my eyes widening in surprise. My fingers begin to tremble as a wave of nerves hits me. I suck in short breaths trying to keep a cool exterior.
