Chapter 3

While I was washing Chloe’s clothes, the other two roommates came back from class.

Their footsteps stopped when they reached the balcony to wash their hands.

Their eyes instinctively swept over, and their expressions immediately darkened.

They recognized the clothes in my basin at a glance.

They were Chloe’s.

The two exchanged a look, their expressions changing.

Maya was the first to walk straight over to Chloe. She angrily pulled out her earphones.

“Chloe, you made Lena wash your dirty clothes? Aren’t you going too far?”

Chloe froze for a moment. Then she quickly reacted. Her eyes turned red with grievance.

“Maya, you brute! Why are you yelling at me like that? You scared me!”

She rose to her feet, crossed her arms and let out a smug snort.

“Are you jealous that someone cares about me? What can I say? I'm a delicate little beauty with a weak body!”

“Someone as strong and healthy as you could never understand. Even if you’re jealous, you’ll never be able to act like me. Hmph!”

After saying that, Chloe rolled her eyes, put her earphones back in, and leaned comfortably against her chair.

Maya’s chest rose and fell with anger.

Yuri walked straight over to me, looking completely disappointed.

“You’re still washing them, Lena? You’re seriously letting Chloe bully you like this? You’re not even going to fight back? Where’s your dignity?”

I was still scrubbing the clothes when I looked up at her helplessly.

“I know you’re both trying to help me, but Chloe really is sick…”

Before I could finish, Maya walked over and interrupted me.

“What kind of nonsense is that? You still can’t tell she’s pretending?”

“What sick person eats extra-spicy wings every day? Lena, she’s treating you like an idiot!”

I heaved a sigh and looked at them with a complicated expression.

“You two don’t understand…”

Just then, Chloe’s voice floated over from outside.

“Lena, are you done washing my clothes? If you are, change my bedsheets too.

“Oh, and I just asked ChatGPT. She said washing feet is good for my stomach, so come help me wash my feet later!

“Make sure the water is warm!”

Maya suddenly turned around and stared at me. Her eyes were almost popping out.

“Lena, you’re not seriously going to agree, are you?”

Meanwhile, Chloe’s feet were practically celebrating. Their inner voice bounced around in my ears.

“A dying person deserves a little kindness, doesn’t she? Well, who knows how many more times she’ll be able to serve me?”

I frowned and hesitated for a moment.

Right, a dying person…

Maya laughed out of anger when she saw me hesitating.

“I finally got it. You two are both choosing this. One keeps pushing, and the other keeps taking it.”

Yuri let out a cold laugh.

“Come on, let’s go! If she wants to be someone’s servant, that’s her choice. What can we do about it? My own stress levels can’t take this either!”

Then, she grabbed Maya and dragged her toward the door.

Maya clenched her teeth and yelled at me, “I’m done trying to convince you! Go ahead and be her servant for the rest of your life!”

I helplessly shook my head.

Just then, my phone suddenly vibrated.

I dried my hands and picked it up.

It was a message from the class monitor in our group chat.

[The health checkup reports from last week are ready. Please send a representative to pick them up from Girls’ Dorm 407 or Boys’ Dorm 606 as soon as possible.]

I narrowed my eyes as I stared at the message.

Last week, that was exactly when Chloe’s stomach had been screaming the most painfully…

Then I heard Chloe’s stomach speak excitedly beside me, “Oh my goodness, am I finally going to be exposed? Too bad, it’s already spread everywhere by now…”
