Right after I bought Chloe the three thousand dollar dress, my phone rang.

Chloe answered, “Hello? You’re the delivery guy? Okay, sure. I’ll have someone come down to get it!”

After hanging up, Chloe turned to me with a completely unapologetic expression.

“Lena, my extra spicy chicken wings are here. Please head downstairs and get them for me.”

I could not help but frown.

Extra spicy chicken wings?

I hesitated for a moment before trying to advise her.

“Chloe, your stomach isn’t doing well. You really shouldn’t eat something this spicy.”

The moment I finished speaking, a familiar voice rang in my ears.

It was Chloe’s stomach.

Its voice was so emotional it almost sounded like it was crying.

“Ah! Lena, you understand me! You’re an angel! Please convince her! I don’t want to die!”

I opened my mouth, about to say something, when another voice interrupted me.

It was Chloe’s brain.

It let out a cold scoff. Its tone was full of contempt. “Damn, this is such a pain! If I knew faking a stomach ulcer would be this much trouble, I would’ve chosen a different illness. This idiot would’ve believed anything I told her anyway.”

I froze for a moment. The words were stuck in my throat.

However, Chloe’s face showed none of that. Instead, she pouted and acted spoiled.

“Lena, I know my own body best! If you really care about me, please transfer me five hundred dollars to prove it.”

Some people just could not be convinced.

I let out a sigh, picked up the keys from the table, turned around and walked out.

Behind me, Chloe called out, “Don’t forget my food! Hurry! My tummy is growling!”

I went downstairs and brought her delivery back up.

When I returned to the dorm and opened the door, I saw Chloe lazily lying on her bed, scrolling through videos.

The moment she saw me, she glanced at the time and immediately frowned.

“Lena, where did you go to slack off this time?

“Last time you got my food in five minutes. This time it took seven? Don’t you know my stomach is delicate? If I stay hungry too long, stomach acid will burn my lining. Can you take responsibility if something happens to me?”

I was rendered speechless.

She could eat extra-spicy chicken wings without worrying about damaging her stomach, but somehow me being two minutes late made me a murderer?

I held back my anger and placed the food on her desk.

Chloe took the bag and waved her hand at me.

“Whatever. I’m kind enough. I won’t hold it against you.”

Then she paused for a moment, hugged the food protectively, and looked at me suspiciously.

“Why are you still standing here? Don’t tell me you want some. No way. I’m starving today. If you eat my food, I’ll be so hungry I'll roll around all night!”

The corners of my mouth twitched.

“I’m not eating. I already ate.”

Then, I turned and walked back to my own desk.

The moment I sat down, I heard Chloe’s stomach let out a desperate scream.

“Damn it, extra-spicy chicken wings?! It’s over! It’s really over! I don’t think I’ll survive today!”
