Chapter 3: The Day My World Broke

Lexy’s POV

It was the weekend, and only two days were left until I would officially be marked and mated. I couldn’t stop smiling.

Today, I had work to do at the packhouse to earn some extra cash. Even though Leo told me I didn’t need to work since I would soon be Luna, I didn’t want to let Kathryn down by leaving her short-staffed—especially with a neighboring Alpha visiting. Kathryn had always been nothing but kind to me, and I wanted to repay her in kind.

I quickly dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, tied my unruly curls into a messy bun, and ran downstairs to make breakfast. I whipped up pancakes, cooked hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and fried bacon, humming songs and dancing to the beat as I worked.

Breakfast was ready, and everyone came down in their pajamas to eat.

“Any reason to be so hyper this morning?” Samantha joked, still half-asleep, as she poured herself a cup of coffee.

“Nothing special. I just need to get to the packhouse, lots of work to do before the Alpha visit.”

“Damn,” my dad muttered. “Ellie, we need to go entertain the guests today.” He sighed and then playfully hugged my stepmother. “I’d rather be snuggling in bed with you.” She giggled and kissed his nose.

Soon, Leo and I will have moments like that, I thought dreamily.

“Hey, why do you look like you’re swimming in the clouds?” my dad asked.

“I’m just excited about being admitted to the art school,” I said, thrilled. I still needed to discuss with Leo how I would balance my studies with my future Luna duties.

“Ah, what?” my dad grumbled in disappointment. “I see you still haven’t let go of that stupid idea.”

“What are your plans for today, Samy?” he asked, flashing her the brightest smile—a smile he never gave me.

“I’ll stop by the packhouse and then check out cars with Jannet,” she replied, chewing on her pancake.

Our dad had promised to gift her a new car for graduation. Of course, I got no gift.

“No achievements—no gift,” as he liked to say. It didn’t matter that I was the best in my class; it still wasn’t enough for him.

“Want to ride with me to the packhouse?” my sister asked unexpectedly. We’d never been close as we were too different. There was no hatred between us, but no warm sisterhood either.

“No, thank you. I’ll walk. I need to leave now anyway,” I replied, grabbing my bag.

“Okay. I’ll take my time getting ready. I might bump into Leo, so I need to look my best. He still doesn’t have a mate, so who knows—maybe I’ll get lucky,” she said, smiling dreamily.

“You would make an excellent Luna,” Elizabeth said proudly.

I knew Samantha had a crush on Leo. I wanted to scream that he already had a mate—that it was me. But instead, I quietly left the house. Soon, they would all know the truth.

At the packhouse, the Omegas were running around, trying to make everything perfect for the visiting Alpha.

“Lexy, good that you’re here on time. Things are hectic. Please bring fresh juice to the guest room—the Alpha’s daughter is waiting,” Kathryn instructed.

I placed a glass of juice on a tray and headed to the guest room.

After a soft knock, the door opened, and a furious young woman in a short, barely-there dress snatched the glass from my tray, spilling a few drops.

“You’re fucking useless,” she snapped. “You almost spilled it on my dress! Do you know how much this costs? First, I wait forever for a simple glass of juice, and then some clumsy cow shows up who can’t even handle a basic task!”

I was shocked by her outburst but didn’t want to argue.

“I’m sorry. Do you need anything else?”

“Not from you, that’s for sure. Get out—and I don’t want to see your face again,” she said bossily, slamming the door in my face.

Spoiled brat, I thought, but I refused to let her ruin my mood.

Kathryn asked me to fold napkins and help with other preparations for lunch.

“Oh my,” Kathryn exclaimed, hitting her forehead. “With all this chaos, I forgot—Lexy, can you collect the laundry from Alpha Leo’s room?”

“Of course,” I replied eagerly. Maybe he’d be there, and I’d get to see him, even for just five minutes. My heart burst with anticipation as I headed toward his room.

I reached his door and was about to knock—when I froze.

“Harder, Alpha. Fuck me harder. Yes, just like that.”

A woman’s voice.

I stumbled back, hitting the wall behind me. My heart was racing, my ears ringing as blood pounded through my veins. My vision blurred, my knees buckled, and I slid down to the floor.

No. It has to be a mistake. It’s not him. It can’t be him.

I wanted to believe—needed to believe—that Leo wasn’t the one inside the room with her. I clung to hope like a drowning woman.

But I had to know.

I forced myself to stand, taking a deep, shaky breath, gathering every ounce of courage I had. Trembling, I pushed open the door.

What I saw shattered my heart into a thousand pieces.

I helped Mia blow out the candles on her birthday cake.It was her first birthday, and her large brown eyes were wide with wonder as she took in the enormous cake and the garden, which was decorated with shimmering balloons, fairy lights, and, of course, her favorite Minnie Mouse characters.Next to her sat her cousin, Jessica, the daughter of Alyssa and Joe. She looked almost like Mia's twin—sharing the same ginger locks and fair skin. The only difference was that Mia was slightly taller and had a slightly higher forehead. It was no surprise they looked so much alike; Alyssa and I could pass for twins ourselves, and their fathers were cousins who shared similar features.Samantha and Matteo’s twins were right next to the girls. Their daughter, Clarissa, was also nearly one, but she was a true lady—composed and sweet—while little Brian was full of mischief. He only behaved in rare moments like this, specifically when he was near Leonarda, the daughter of Arabella and Leo. Brian cared

“The pup is coming!” Eilyul shouted cheerfully, her voice echoing with a mix of excitement and urgency. “Ahhh!” I screamed as another contraction ripped through me. Finally, Sebastian came to his senses. He scooped me into his arms, his movements a blur of alpha strength, and rushed me toward the clinic. Every second felt like an eternity; the contractions were growing stronger and the pain was becoming unbearable. Sweat poured down my forehead, stinging my eyes. I hadn't even begun to push yet, but my body was already in agony. Was it because I was destined to die, or did every childbirth feel like this—as if my soul were being torn apart? Everything became a blur. White hospital walls. Muffled voices that sounded like they were underwater. I caught glimpses of Sebastian’s terrified face; his lip trembled, but his hand squeezed mine with desperate reassurance. I don't know if minutes passed or hours. I had lost all track of time when the doctor’s sharp voice finally pierced t

Alexandra’s POVDays turned into weeks, blending together in a haze of golden afternoons and quiet evenings. As my baby bump grew rapidly, stretching my skin with the weight of our growing pup, I found myself sinking into a state of blissful nesting. I simply enjoyed the pregnancy, the fluttering kicks within me, and the precious time spent with my mate and family. I felt a sense of peace I hadn't known in years. I could not say the same for Sebastian. He was a man possessed, desperately trying to find a way to break the ancient curse that loomed over us like a guillotine. I watched him grow more haggard and furious each time he hit a dead end. One evening, I found him sitting in the dim light of his study, eyes bloodshot and staring at the blue light of his monitor. Ancient, leather-bound books were propped open, their brittle pages smelling of dust and forgotten secrets, while notes written in his frantic scrawl were scattered across his mahogany desk.“Not again!” he roared in frus

Alexandra’s POV“I am sorry, kitten,” muttered Sebastian, lying in the bed next to me and kissing my cheek. “I lost count of time.”His mouth moved to my jaw. “Now I am ready for some promised fun.”I giggled and whispered, “I will be back in a minute.”I used the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair.“Now I am going—” I said in a sultry voice, approaching the bed and swaying my hips, but I did not finish the sentence as Sebastian was already asleep.I sighed and pulled the covers over him. He was exhausted. The doctor’s appointment was in two hours. I got dressed and went to paint on the balcony.I lost track of time, pulled fully into the world of paint and brushes.“Beautiful painting,” Sebastian startled me.I turned to find him standing at the balcony door in jeans and a simple black t-shirt, barefoot, holding a cup of coffee. His messy brown hair shone under the sunlight, accompanied by a wild grin.Irresistible. Gorgeous. Mine.My heart clenched. He would not be mine

  • Drawing Her Fate: Luna's Redemption   Chapter 162: The Weight of Hope

Alexandra’s POVSebastian's warm embrace—his support and the way he suppressed his fury just to comfort me—completely undid me. I leaned into his chest and began to sob quietly. It wasn't the loud, dramatic kind of crying; it was that exhausted, shaky breath you take when you're finally done holding it all together. Watching him scramble for answers hurt more than the curse itself. He was looking for a door to open, and all I could see was a brick wall."I’m sorry, I’m so sorry... I just didn't want to upset you. I wanted to enjoy my last few months with you," I mumbled into his shirt. He brushed my tears away with his finger and kissed my eyelids. "We will find a way to break this curse, Alex. Everything is going to be alright."I smiled and kissed him gently. I didn't want to object or argue with him. Deep down, I already knew I had lost this battle before it even began. This curse wasn't something that could be broken by sheer will, but I couldn't bring myself to crush his spirit.

Sebastian's POV I was sitting in my study with Julian, reviewing new product proposals and some pack documents.Hours passed, the Omega arrived with snacks and drinks—we had worked straight through breakfast and lunch today. I closed the folders, rubbing the bridge of my nose before piling a plate high with sandwiches.“How is mated life, Alpha?” Julian asked with a wicked grin.“I feel bad that I’ve been buried in work these past weeks and haven't taken Alex on a honeymoon. We’ll definitely go after the birth. Otherwise, everything feels right… like she’s always been mine. However, Alex has started to act differently. I’m assuming it’s the pregnancy hormones,” I replied.Julian rolled his eyes. “Tell me about it. Samantha is always moody—craving weird food, crying one second and smiling the next. She's insatiable, too.”“No… It's not that. Alexandra acts like she’s hungry to live. She’s painting all night when inspiration hits, trying new classes, and picking up strange hobbies. On
