Lexy’s POV
It was the weekend, and only two days were left until I would officially be marked and mated. I couldn’t stop smiling.
Today, I had work to do at the packhouse to earn some extra cash. Even though Leo told me I didn’t need to work since I would soon be Luna, I didn’t want to let Kathryn down by leaving her short-staffed—especially with a neighboring Alpha visiting. Kathryn had always been nothing but kind to me, and I wanted to repay her in kind.
I quickly dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, tied my unruly curls into a messy bun, and ran downstairs to make breakfast. I whipped up pancakes, cooked hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, and fried bacon, humming songs and dancing to the beat as I worked.
Breakfast was ready, and everyone came down in their pajamas to eat.
“Any reason to be so hyper this morning?” Samantha joked, still half-asleep, as she poured herself a cup of coffee.
“Nothing special. I just need to get to the packhouse, lots of work to do before the Alpha visit.”
“Damn,” my dad muttered. “Ellie, we need to go entertain the guests today.” He sighed and then playfully hugged my stepmother. “I’d rather be snuggling in bed with you.” She giggled and kissed his nose.
Soon, Leo and I will have moments like that, I thought dreamily.
“Hey, why do you look like you’re swimming in the clouds?” my dad asked.
“I’m just excited about being admitted to the art school,” I said, thrilled. I still needed to discuss with Leo how I would balance my studies with my future Luna duties.
“Ah, what?” my dad grumbled in disappointment. “I see you still haven’t let go of that stupid idea.”
“What are your plans for today, Samy?” he asked, flashing her the brightest smile—a smile he never gave me.
“I’ll stop by the packhouse and then check out cars with Jannet,” she replied, chewing on her pancake.
Our dad had promised to gift her a new car for graduation. Of course, I got no gift.
“No achievements—no gift,” as he liked to say. It didn’t matter that I was the best in my class; it still wasn’t enough for him.“Want to ride with me to the packhouse?” my sister asked unexpectedly. We’d never been close as we were too different. There was no hatred between us, but no warm sisterhood either.
“No, thank you. I’ll walk. I need to leave now anyway,” I replied, grabbing my bag.
“Okay. I’ll take my time getting ready. I might bump into Leo, so I need to look my best. He still doesn’t have a mate, so who knows—maybe I’ll get lucky,” she said, smiling dreamily.
“You would make an excellent Luna,” Elizabeth said proudly.
I knew Samantha had a crush on Leo. I wanted to scream that he already had a mate—that it was me. But instead, I quietly left the house. Soon, they would all know the truth.
At the packhouse, the Omegas were running around, trying to make everything perfect for the visiting Alpha.
“Lexy, good that you’re here on time. Things are hectic. Please bring fresh juice to the guest room—the Alpha’s daughter is waiting,” Kathryn instructed.
I placed a glass of juice on a tray and headed to the guest room.
After a soft knock, the door opened, and a furious young woman in a short, barely-there dress snatched the glass from my tray, spilling a few drops.
“You’re fucking useless,” she snapped. “You almost spilled it on my dress! Do you know how much this costs? First, I wait forever for a simple glass of juice, and then some clumsy cow shows up who can’t even handle a basic task!”
I was shocked by her outburst but didn’t want to argue.
“I’m sorry. Do you need anything else?”“Not from you, that’s for sure. Get out—and I don’t want to see your face again,” she said bossily, slamming the door in my face.
Spoiled brat, I thought, but I refused to let her ruin my mood.
Kathryn asked me to fold napkins and help with other preparations for lunch.
“Oh my,” Kathryn exclaimed, hitting her forehead. “With all this chaos, I forgot—Lexy, can you collect the laundry from Alpha Leo’s room?”
“Of course,” I replied eagerly. Maybe he’d be there, and I’d get to see him, even for just five minutes. My heart burst with anticipation as I headed toward his room.
I reached his door and was about to knock—when I froze.
“Harder, Alpha. Fuck me harder. Yes, just like that.”
A woman’s voice.
I stumbled back, hitting the wall behind me. My heart was racing, my ears ringing as blood pounded through my veins. My vision blurred, my knees buckled, and I slid down to the floor.
No. It has to be a mistake. It’s not him. It can’t be him.
I wanted to believe—needed to believe—that Leo wasn’t the one inside the room with her. I clung to hope like a drowning woman.
But I had to know.
I forced myself to stand, taking a deep, shaky breath, gathering every ounce of courage I had. Trembling, I pushed open the door.
What I saw shattered my heart into a thousand pieces.
Alexandra's POV "I am going to see Mr. Lennox, " I said to the reception, clatching the bag with his freshly made tacos. The young blonde girl smiled and answered politely, "My apology, Miss, but Mr. Lennox has back to back meetings for the next three hours. Would you like to wait, or shall I pass any message to him?" I signed, "Please just tell him that Alexandra came and give this bag to him. Thank you." "Of course, Ms. Alexandra, "said the blonde, receiving the bag. Her colleague next to her glanced on us curiously. I was leaving and was quite far from the reception, but as my hearing intenced, I clearly heard the conversation of receptionists. "I recognized her from the article. She is a new girlfriend of Mr. Lennox, "said blonde one to her colleague. "She looks so plain compared to Ms. Christine." Said her colleague, "his ex is real beauty, regal, gorge
Mirabel's POV From a distance, I saw the familiar red-head so-called friend's daughter sitting at the piano and Nick, who crused his lips into hers. It stung me as he had never kissed me. We had sex countless times, rough and passionate, and he kissed every inch of my body, but he never even pecked my lips. Here he was kissing her genly and once they broke the kiss, he strock her hair, saying softly, "I will be back soon and we will have lunch together." She nodded, smiling fantly, but her large brown eyes hold nothing by sadness. Nick left, and her fingers hit the keyboard, the sad sweet melody played, echoing in hallways. Melody beautiful buy filled with sorrow and regret, twisting heart, moving to tears. I hated that it moved me too, hated that the sound of her pain felt so close to my own. I could not hold myself, but stayed and listened, and also I could not hold, but once the melody stopped to
Sebastian’s POVI was walking in the hallway, and the divine smell hit my nostrils. I could recognise the smell of my favourite dish, taxos, from miles away. It was still quite early for lunch, and we did not have tacos in the menu.I peeped into the kitchen and saw Alexandra alone mixing food in many bowls, while she was humming soft melody and dancing to it. She looked adorable. Her hair fell loose around her shoulders, catching the light, and the sight of her so carefree and unguarded made my chest ache. For a moment, I simply stood there, watching, memorizing the way her hips swayed ever so slightly and alluring with the tune.Suddenly, she lifted her eyes, noticing me and blushing."Omg, I did not know you are here," she exclaimed, "so emberessing," covering her face by palms."No, you were too cute." I said, teasing her a little bit, "What are you doing here?" I asked, realising how actually silly was my question, so I corrected mys
Sebastian’s POVSlowly, the week passed since my last visit to the palace. Alexandra was glowing, enjoying her painting classes with Vincent. The pack members were getting to know her sweet and kind nature, and they slowly warmed up to her, becoming genuinely friendly.I could feel the bond between us growing stronger too. She was getting more comfortable with me—playful, relaxed, and at ease.I was waiting for her in the lounge so we could go to the palace together. When I saw her walking down the stairs, I forgot how to breathe. She wore an olive-green turtleneck dress with long sleeves. It covered her modestly, yet hugged her petite frame perfectly, making her look both innocent and seductive at the same time. Her curls fell loose, and she wore minimal makeup. But it was her simple, elegant look—the way she walked gracefully, like she was floating rather than touching the ground, and those emerald eyes shining with life—that made my heart race and
Alexandra’s POV The sun went down, painting the sky in fading streaks of gold and purple. I sat cosily up in an armchair with a book, dressed in a simple pair of blue jeans and a plain black tank top, when the door opened and Sebastian stepped inside. I lifted my gaze from the book page and couldn’t help but smile at him. “How was your meeting?” I asked softly, closing the book on my lap. He looked unsettled, almost distracted, his brow tense. “Fine, I guess,” he muttered, but the way his voice caught told me otherwise. Then, forcing a smile, he added, “If you’re free, there’s somewhere I want to take you.” My curiosity piqued instantly. “Where are we going? Should I change?” His eyes softened a little, some of the tension easing from his shoulders. “It’s a surprise. I’m sure you’ll love it—and
Alexandra’s POVAfter an amazing painting class, my spirits were high. I felt ready to create and conquer the world. Vincent had already left and would be coming back for our next session tomorrow.Someone knocked softly on the door, and a young Omega girl peeked in.“Miss, there is someone waiting for you in the lounge. I will escort you there.”I beamed with joy. Surely, it was Sebastian. Could the surprises really keep coming today? I followed the Omega, but nearly huffed in disappointment when I saw that it wasn’t Sebastian waiting for me. Instead, Leo sat on the grey sofa in the lounge.“Would you like anything to drink?” Omega asked, but I shook my head no. She left silently. Leo put down his coffee cup and smiled.“How do you feel?”I sat on the sofa, keeping a respectful distance from him.“I am as good as I can be,” I replied. “Thank you for coming to my rescue.”“
